Man-eater is great but the gameplay mechanics of jaws were much better

Maybe because they're not meant to be the same
Ahh, back in the day when life was simple and you could mindlessly munch on none-the-wiser swimmers at your leisure. Is it the most compelling game lore-wise? No. Is the dumb, violent and oftentimes sadistic fun through the roof? You bet your sweet ass it was. Absolutely love this game.

Always reminded me of the "Far Side Gallery"with the imprint of the shark on the sand, with the lady telling how it wriggled onto the beach, grabbed her husband and then wriggled back.

I love how when he’s in between missions in the open ocean, he just knocks people out of their boats and just leaves them, and then throws other sharks around

"Jaws: Unleashed" had two of the same shark?
This was legit a really fun game to play.
I legitimately expected this game to end with the shark fighting the leviathan.

The game came out just a few days ago and is super fun. If you enjoyed this game youll love man eater as its just like this plus rpg elements. This game definitely brings back some nostalgia watching it and maneater is a great spirtual successor.

I played Jaws unleashed, Depth (A online PVP shark game), And now Maneater, it's a great game, basically, an over the top high-quality Jaws unleashed and Depth combined game, I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Jaws or Depth. Like it's just great.
This game looks like it was really well done for it's time. I remember wanting it, but bot being allowed to get it.

They actually mistake humans for prey. That's how dumb they can be, they think you're a fish. Idk what would happen if they were smarter, and its best left unknown..... 😂 Jaws is probably an example of what would happen if they were extremely smart. also, while sharks do mistakenly attack humans, it's not because they cannot differentiate between us and their prey, but rather because they are curious

@@MeargleSchmeargle IGN just wouldn't bite, said the storyline wasn't snappy enough, couldn't quite wrap their Jaws around it. Apparently so much water was in the game that is led to water damage and Sony wouldn't live up to the warrenty, they said something fishy was going on

It's a reference to a review ign did on a Pokemon game about 5 years ago where the reviewer ended the review with no negatives except "too much water" and gave it a 7/10
The game itself featured no water and I think she was actually talking about water Pokemon. Nonetheless it became a legendary meme that is still around today.
My problem with this game is the human sound effect when jaws is under water. Its like ear rape sound, wierd
Man when I saw the trailer for this game many years ago I knew I had to have it. So much fun it was I'd hope there be a remastered version of this game for the PS4 or maybe as a remake on the PS5.
If you're interesting in a game like this then 'Man-Eater' was released today, it's basically a modern day open world RPG version of Jaws Unleashed, I'm playing it now and it's pretty fun

49:30 level my game always crashes.
The best/most underrated aspect of this game is that you got new moves (body bomb, corkscrew, etc) as you leveled up. It was easy to level up, and didnt take long. You could level up completely before the first mission and it wouldnt even take an hour of just swimming around and terrorizing the coast guard. Getting Surface Throw And Catch special move is absolutely mandatory, it allows you to instantly get health back by devouring a human.
They need to remaster this game I love it so much

This Game was Way ahead of it’s time.. imagine if they made this game on ps4 or even of the 5, with Unreal engine 5, would be absolutely insane. Byfar Top 3 games of all time. NOTHING LIKE it.
Majesco should publish the game again, and have tripwire develop a remaster/remake of Jaws Unleashed.

I really hope we get a hyper realistic Jaws video game one day. My main issue with this game is how the shark model looks literally nothing like the shark from the movie. Imagine playing as the shark identical from Jaws with stunning graphics.
Had a bit of fun playing through this on PCSX2 - especially for it being a licensed title they didn't do too bad. The controls were a bit rough to handle though and the ending sucks, feels like they ran out of time and money before the last mission. At least some of the side challenges were cool.
They should make this game backwards compatible with XB1 & PS4

This is one of the first ps2 games i bought as a kid and I still have it but lost my ps2 gives me so much nostalgia watching this
This game was awesome. I learned how sharks see underwater, their animosity towards killer whales, and how they consume their prey and also how they terrorize us in the waters.
I hope this game gets a remake

If I played this game, I would make sure to drag a swimmer underwater and swim up slowly so that by the time the person is above water, they would have already drowned and the other beach goers would be swimming for dear life, allowing me to claim more victims on the shores of Amity.

The giant squid boss is actually a tribute to Bob Mattey. Bob build the giant squid in 20000 leagues under the sea and the shark for jaws. So you have two of Bob's creations fighting each other
