That was never the case for success with Nykaa. Nykaa never offered exorbitant discounts that Flipkart, Amazon could do during sales. Nykaa's policy was that they guarantee that the product given was original that's it. Some discount was offered but idk if they gave above 40% on cosmetics for women.

No. Nykaa's prices are the problem. In the beginning their products were comparatively cheaper..but now the prices are just too high than other sites and sometimes even more than offline market. If you put one thing in your cart for over 1 day the discount will suddenly be removed 😂
I think it's because of the Indian customer behaviour and there is nothing wrong in it. But the companies are wasting money on advertisements rather than getting their hands on the customers they need. All the big companies know what the customer wants, so there are low chances of losing their customers. And they have years of experience and have done great hard work to achieve this which today's company are not bothering to understand.

Purple offers good discount and it has cheap product, secondly customer service is way good than nykaa, i once ordered trimmer from nykaa for 1000 rupees and i tried to return it and there customer service was so bad that it took week to contact them and then it couldn't get returned 😔 then i switched to purple, no regrets since then🎉🎉🎉
Yes i have been using their service for past 2 years....always got the right product on very fast deliver with good discount. I have stopped using nykaa and use purplle every single time

They are the only one who have international brands like Huda Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath labs, Morphe, Too faced, Smash box to name a few. It was really hard back in my days to get hold of these products.

Nykaa's brand diversity is unlike any other. They provide original products at a reasonable price. They also have multinational brands. If only they provided better discounts on these international brands they would be unbeatable. Even for domestic brands their discounts are lower than the prices with Amazon. I think it will take time for other platforms to beat Nykaa's customer base simply because of the diversity they provide.

Nykaa deserves this, I ordered a dress worth 4K from nykaa fashion and when I received the dress it was without any tag and the dress was looking like 5yrs old torn dress even I can not wear it at my home, and when I tried to return they didn’t accept nor refunded any amount. Talked to their manager and customer service but no response. From that day I never ordered anything from Nykaa. I was a genuine customer of nykaa from past 5yrs. This is how they are loosing loyal customers.

I ordered crocs from Myntra at a heavy discounted price, which turned out to be fake, this stopped me buying from Myntra. But when I look around today most of my friends do not care for quality but get attracted to tags at an extremely low price. Also companies like smytten and purple have come up, I do not know their business model but the discounts are enticing. So I think this summarizes nykaa's decline.
From my prespective, Ajio and Tata cliq is very costly So i don't think it is dangeruos for nykaa in the long run because indians care more about savings than brand loyalty.

I m nykka prive member, and lemme tell u the only thing ruining nykka is nykka itself. They didn't do anything about the data leak. Very poor customer care. People got opened products and cs just told them to deal with it. The mrp on site are higher than original mrp to make the discount seem hefty, some products in tira are also marked up. In addition to that people get absolutely ntg for what they spend. I spent 15k in a year on nykka platform and got 100 rs their own brand shampoo. Not even 1% of what i spent throughout year.Even Sephora is better than that

The problem is low barriers to entry and high valuation. Also thier own label which has high margins hasnt caught marjets fancy. Its IPO was around 7 billion almost same as bath body works market cap inspite of having 10 time lesser sales forget the profits.
I believe its just a pause in their growth. They are still using same business model as before but now there are more ecommerce and pop ups like theirs. Since 2021 now we have purple , sephora, smytten and more upcoming companies. Nykaa just needs to adapt this change is competition. They still provide with best quality products and if they understand this new market , they will be fine. The momentum is still slow but I am still wishing for success. they were clever to adapt to change by including skincare more after market shifted from makeup to skin care. This change killed many big companies. Now with new competition they need to provide with services that are good. Either they stay in range of sephora and become luxury exclusive or a more economic brand. Right now they are in between and can not decide which audience cater too

Nyk ka has a huge global inventory in the Indian market but discounts and price lines are never considered by nykka hence it makes it pricey hence people do shift to others like purple, Myntra, Amazon
I think this is split between unreal PE ratios which are normalising, competition is up, customer service and reducing profitability all points to a company which is not only under fire but is struggling to consolidate its advantage.
To stay in market the company needs to constantly evolve and keep running creative strategic campaigns. The reason for slowdown is not competition but the fact that they continuously need to keep changing the strategies even when the current ones are working fine
Now I feel the myntra, purple has more discounts then Nykaa, Nykaa hardly releases any new products, and it’s sales have very limited discounts on products.
The thing is initially there were no other sites offering international makeup products or skin care products let alone the offers.. but now there’s sites which are offering products with great offers like Maccaron and purple too so people are opting for those to get their hands on their fav products.. like me I got k-skin products which is mrp 1600/- and mrp 1650/- for just 900/- and 1122/- so I switched to the other ones cause on Nyka it’s still on mrp
I feel it's because nykaa has started focusing alot on luxury/foreign brands like Anastasia, Bvlgari which are also available on myntra with better offers. Rn it can focus better on korean skincare which is actually cheap and alot better than most of indian skincare brands. Purplle seems to focus on korean makeup which has worked great deal for them..
The only reason for over subscription is that you never get allotment. That's why people apply through multiple demat accounts from their friend's and family's account that too more that 4-5 applications. And if the company is doing well then more over subscription. And nowadays IPO is mostly for listing gains.
Overpriced IPO combined with the competition will drive NYKAA out but they have their founders relations with good bankers so the founder wont face much drag until its a critical problem

I believe its just a pause in their growth. They are still using same business model as before but now there are more ecommerce and pop ups like theirs. Since 2021 now we have purple , sephora, smytten and more upcoming companies. Nykaa just needs to adapt this change is competition. They still provide with best quality products and if they understand this new market , they will be fine. The momentum is still slow but I am still wishing for success. they were clever to adapt to change by including skincare more after market shifted from makeup to skin care. This change killed many big companies. Now with new competition they need to provide with services that are good. Either they stay in range of sephora and become luxury exclusive or a more economic brand. Right now they are in between and can not decide which audience cater too
The reason why is getting is we get better deals on product in other sites and compare to nykaa
discounts and pricey would be the main reason. i've gotten products that cost about a 800-900 bucks from elsewhere within 400-500, genuine product too!

Nyk ka has a huge global inventory in the Indian market but discounts and price lines are never considered by nykka hence it makes it pricey hence people do shift to others like purple, Myntra, Amazon

I think this is split between unreal PE ratios which are normalising, competition is up, customer service and reducing profitability all points to a company which is not only under fire but is struggling to consolidate its advantage.
One who believe in quality rather than quantity. They all always prefer Nykaa.

To stay in market the company needs to constantly evolve and keep running creative strategic campaigns. The reason for slowdown is not competition but the fact that they continuously need to keep changing the strategies even when the current ones are working fine
Its all about discounts ! Now we can purchase from other app or offline less than the nykaa products price !
Now I feel the myntra, purple has more discounts then Nykaa, Nykaa hardly releases any new products, and it’s sales have very limited discounts on products.
First offline is good as we go buy wear we understand brand and quality. Whereas when we buy online there is lot of confusion in quality and brand.

Nykaa doesn’t give discounts or coupons which the other brands like myntra, tata pallete and tira do, so naturally it is dying out.
The thing is initially there were no other sites offering international makeup products or skin care products let alone the offers.. but now there’s sites which are offering products with great offers like Maccaron and purple too so people are opting for those to get their hands on their fav products.. like me I got k-skin products which is mrp 1600/- and mrp 1650/- for just 900/- and 1122/- so I switched to the other ones cause on Nyka it’s still on mrp
I feel it's because nykaa has started focusing alot on luxury/foreign brands like Anastasia, Bvlgari which are also available on myntra with better offers. Rn it can focus better on korean skincare which is actually cheap and alot better than most of indian skincare brands. Purplle seems to focus on korean makeup which has worked great deal for them..
The only reason for over subscription is that you never get allotment. That's why people apply through multiple demat accounts from their friend's and family's account that too more that 4-5 applications.
And if the company is doing well then more over subscription. And nowadays IPO is mostly for listing gains.

Overpriced IPO combined with the competition will drive NYKAA out but they have their founders relations with good bankers so the founder wont face much drag until its a critical problem
