Wayne Bennett is one of a kind. After St.George-Illawarra won the premiership in 2010, the players were to meet the fans & Kogarah oval. There was a low fence set & the players appeared, but mostly stayed under cover, because it was raining & dark. Wayne Bennett came out in the rain, & walked the entire fenceline, speaking to, & shaking hands with every fan he could reach. He would have been soaked, but just wanted to spend time with the fans. I saw him again at the fan day for the Dolphins, & there he was, taking photos & signing autographs with the fans. Gr8 to see him recognised. 👍👍👍
Bennett has 8 premierships and nearly 1300 1st Grade and Rep games coached. He has been coaching before Mal, Wally, Sterlo and Kenny ever played first grade. The guy is a legend.
@stevenpeters7496 he's the guy I grew up listening too I really wish he was still commentating his voice is made for rugby league. absolute legend in my mind👍
Wanye put the air in the football obviously. And Jack had some great sayings, winning starts in the front office, only kick it as far as you can chase and kick were the seagulls are 💣 I spoke with John Quayle when l was a teenager many decades ago, was like talking to the president of America 🤩
There would be quite a few 1st graders today playing reserve grade if Jack was still coaching - e.g. Joey Manu would be a permanent 'B' grader until he learnt to pass the ball.
@@SlaintheMhath … I remember it well (I’m in my mid 50’s) & my dad was just as bad whenever Rex was on tv, especially because of his completely biased commentary towards Manly, the team he hated with a passion. I can even remember the classic “pass the ball” competition they ha, with the elephant sound bellowing if they got a bullseye.

For those of us old enough, seeing John Quayle MBE AM, on fox does the soul good.
Phil Gould surely deserves Immortal status
rabs Warren is the greatest rugby league commentator of all time.
Turn it up - you need to listen to both Andrew Moore & Bossy. Maybe earlier in his younger days perhaps.

Really? I think he is a Nancy with a few good one liners 🤢🤮
Well Deserved 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

How did Wayne do at Newcastle, Stuffed their roster for years.
Frank did say once got the length but not the distance 😂
I wish rabs would commentate one more game. Best to ever do it
Bennett was one Michael Morgan flick pass and one Cody Walker forward pass away from 2 more premierships

Who is the voiceover at the start?
He does all the fox league and boxing stuff. Not sure of his name but he’s great
Matt Nable
@@James-bu5xf a Manly great.
Rex Mossop was up there as well.
No doubt if he was inducted, Rex would’ve been “flabbergasted”??? 😂😂😂
Controversy Corner with Ferris Ashton, Noel Kelly, I can't remember any more. The Moose used to make my old man swear at the tv, it was hilarious.
