tbh I think a big reason why 7R isn't doing well viewership wise is because it's just not super fun to watch. If you aren't tapped into the multiple timelines mystery it's basically just watching some 20 year olds and a catdog run around the country-side, then watching them run around a swamp, then watching them run around a beach town, with some silly + sweet character moments and mini-games sprinkled in. Even if you are into the mystery, the game has barely showed us anything about it in like 10 hours? For all its pacing faults, I do think 16's rollercoaster energy was a better viewer experience because you were never more than like 3 hours away from peak. That game was also pretty good about sign posting when something crazy was about to happen. People like me would skim the category and see someone getting close to fighting Titan and click in to see the reaction for example. Rebirth also has crazy moments but they're majorly backloaded. If you've got the nostalgia and curiosity to carry you there or just enjoy screwing around with mini games, great! But if not the game feels slower than a snail about getting to the point.
idr if we talked about in this video, but yeah we kinda came to that conclusion on stream. i think the game is amazing to play but reeeeally boring to watch. my BIGGEST gripe is how little the plot has moved in my 20hrs in gameplay. really disappointing
