I just wanted to mention this. I have been married for 12 years and been together with my husband for 15 years. To be honest, the pandemic has actually brought my husband and I closer together. Because everything in our life just slowed down. We ended up spending so much time together, that we ended up doing so much more together. For instance, hiking, quad riding, working on our blueberry farm together. Instead of being so exhausted from work every day, we would come home, chat a little, eat dinner, go to bed and wake up, and doing the same thing the next day. My husband and I often talk about how much closer we are and how much more we do together as a couple. It's not a bad thing at all!!!
There is something about both of your voices that’s so calming to listen too. Elsa, I love when you voice over your videos. Your voice has a real distinct purposeful tone to it. Baron, you sound sooo mellow and like you have an extra dose of a man octave 🤪 - ok so I have no idea what I’m saying. You both compliment each other very well.
This was what we did. Saved 4 years money, bought only what we really needed, bought a motorhome and drove to Portugal. Since 3 years here. But now we bought a little property because of the crisis. We think it can get ugly. Starting to grow our own food next year. Very rural area. Only solar and well. That's fine for us.
I admire you both. You are living the life my husband and i planned for ourselves, sort of. He passed before he retired so that was out, but we did enjoy just camping for vacations and weekends. God bless you, stay safe and stay well.
@Pam Z, Hi Pam, I am glad that your ok in this day and I appreciate the reply. Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns--and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Yes! ONLY BELIEVE
One of these days I will catch you live. I’m 58, feel like you two could be my kids - so fun watching you both grow in your journey and always appreciate you being transparent. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
About a year ago my wife and I have been making a bit of an exit plan for life as we knew it. Nothing huge. Just early retirement, being deliberate in our lifestyle/life choices, keeping our home but making more of our time, and cutting back. Covid hit. It shoved us into high gear. We realized we were way ahead of the curve (self-reliant). I love your channel.
I've recently downsized from 1500+ sqf to 250sqft in large part because you two show us it is possible. Thanx for the videos and inspiring people to give tiny life a chance.
You guys are so thoughtful & intelligent, man these were good questions and I loved your honest answers! I can't wait to see how the Scamp turned out, thank you for sharing your lives with us. I mean it, I love this channel.
Ah, I love that you said youre open to kids! I always thought you were that couple who were lik e"nope, never". This makes my heart so happy cause I know you guys will raise the best human beings .
You two compliment each other so well. I appreciate your honesty and your genuineness shines through. My guy and I love seeing your videos. They were such a Godsend winter and spring during that quarantine period. Truly, you have NO idea. ❤
I'm retired but I trucked for many, many years across the U.S. and Canada. I would recommend a Cummings Diesel if you are going to IDLE your engine for heat and AC. People complain about noise and emissions when you're idling and Diesel engines have greatly improved on noise and emissions. I would love to see you both make a round in upper New York. Different kind of mountains up there but they are beautiful. I camped, once upon a time, around Lake Placid. It's incredible in the winter. Thank you both for sharing your lives with us. Please continue! PEACE
I hope you'll do another tour of the Scamp showing all the changes & repairs you made to it. This would be helpful to teach people what is required & how to maintain a Scamp. Also, I have to agree that your snow storm videos are my favorite. How about a Christmas video that might include any decorating you do in the Scamp & any special food you make for Christmas dinner. Add a fire in your wood burning stove & a snow storm & that, in my opinion, would be the perfect video! Love your channel!
You guys are just so chill that I love watching you interact! Thanks for answering the questions with humor, honesty and candor! Good luck with the Scamp repairs!!! 👏👏👏👏 See ya next time!👋👋
amazing to hear that even after all these years you still struggle with the pressure of the "hustle". not that i would wish that feeling of pressure on anyone. also, not a scamp/van lifer myself, but it's extremely helpful to hear about someone else experiencing the same thing. not many people talk about that feeling, and i think it's amazing that you use your platform to share your perspective. it helps so many people. thank you
@Freedom Fighter To each his own belief....don't like them....easy fix....Don't watch their videos! What's the point of ragging on someone? Life is too precious for negativity. Personally, I enjoy their videos and their personalities!
I love your videos that are just showing you guys living your life, day by day. Some of my favorite videos are you guys just hanging out, cooking and relaxing. I find those to be so zen.
I love what you guys said about quarantine. I enjoyed the time off from work with the slower pace and more time to explore things that I normally don't have time for.
COME UP TO THE UPPER PENINSULA IN MICHIGAN I'M 72 YRS REMINDS ME OF MY YOUNGER DAYS TRAVELING LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR ADVENTURES BE SAFE LOVE FROM MICHIGAN
Thanks for sharing. My wife and I RV probably 30-40 days a year and there is no better test or cure for a relationship than spending lots of time together in a small space. I just picked up a couple of wood stickers that will now be decorating our little space!
Great stuff - Thank you for filling us in. I got closer to my significant other during the quarantine also - it's good to experience this because you realize how much you mean to each other.
You have raised some really good points in this video, from the suggestions for those wanting to start a life like yours, vanlife vs. scamplife, etc. I love how you both seem so comfortable in your own skin! Y'all seemed soooooo relaxed!Looking forward to the next one... Take care and God bless you!
Toilets, showers, sinks, and cooking stoves outside of your primary Scamp living space is FANTASTIC. I hate dealing with those major issues of most RV's. My paternal grandparents have toilet and bath facilities connected via a breezeway to their home. Allows those facilities to be larger areas, increased privacy, and occasionally overly-offensive bodily smells, for whatever reason, are not introduced into the main living space.
Both of you are very observant and in tune to your surroundings. You have probably honed those skills since you started living this life style. Baron seems like a preventative maintenance kind of guy. I look forward to seeing all of the fixes, changes and modifications to Scamp. Would you consider an aluminum frame
Very cool guys. Thanks for sharing. I find it interesting that you guys still feel the pressure of working. I left my teaching job a couple of years ago and still feel that pressure to do and plan things.
I love the fact that you both are so naturally down to earth. Yes you do the whole internet thing etc... but you are very concerned about the earth, your sources of food, and just being all around good people. Thank you
I live vicariously thru you two I'm a 53 yr old mom and man if I was in my 20's again I think I'd do this. But in my time the 80's there really was no such thing like this. It was a different but really amazing time!
Sandra Westley, I have just found your vlog, you have the most beautiful blue eyes Barron, don’t worry I’m an old lady, old enough to be your Grandma actually, lovely to hear young people talk and appreciate what they have, and what really makes the world go round.
Thank you for sharing, my wife, two kids and myself live in a 23ft camper. It was a choice and we have loved it. It’s been a sweet time but at some point we will need a home.
You guys are a great couple. Even after being a subscriber for quite a while now, this video showed a lot about more about yourselves than the others I've watched. This genre is a good one for you.
We are at that point of trying to simplify our lives. And the transition of figuring that out is exciting but sometimes overwhelming lol. I appreciated you guys taking the time to answer questions but more so your overall relaxed positive outlook that has developed from your choices, it’s encouraging.
Wished I had the balls to do what you guys do, but being old and past my physical prime I think it would be far too difficult. Good luck and God's speed in all you do
I really admire your lifestyle choices. It takes some trial and error, but eventually you figure it out. LOVE your little wood stove to keep you warm and cozy. We traveled with an RV and got it down to a fine art, and I loved it--we have traveled with a tent, then truck & camper, followed by a travel trailer and finally a 21 ft. RV. Keep on; keepin' on! 😊😊
You guys are great. I love watching you be happy with what you are doing. I wish I would have done what you are doing years ago. I really enjoy your videos and love the adventures you bring me. Thanks for sharing great Q&A.
I have been watching you two for a good long while. It’s seems like Barron has become more verbal,I always thought he was a quieter kind of guy, but he has. Come alive... and you Elsa are so calm and so pretty.....I also love the dog. Thanks for sharing.
Great to hear from you guys!! I just started boondocking in my RV and recently just figured out a better internet connection while out in the sticks. Previously I didn’t get to watch or do anything internet related but now I’m here dry camping and streaming you guys! Small victory! Happy trails!
Just listened to your podcast whilst making the dinner for the family. Totally awesome. I love hearing you guys talk about the future. It’s like I’ve got a bunch of friends round at my house chatting. All your broadcasts are like a tonic for the soul. ❤️
I followed you before you got the wood burning stove. I think you were just getting it installed when I stopped watching. I re-discovered you today. Watched a bunch of your videos. You guys seem so much happier. Every video I've watched made me smile or laugh out loud (the shower bag falling on Elsa's head! Kamp running or rolling in the snow). So glad I clicked on your 3 part snow camping series. I subscribed! Happy New Year!
Thank you for doing a q&a! Really interesting to hear an update on things. I'm in awe of your love for the cold. It doesn't snow here in Canberra, Australia but we will get down to minus temps which is hard for me. Keep living the life you love, your channel is really inspiring and fun. Kamp is gorgeous too!
We are getting so many tips from you two.. You are Awesome!!!! we are now considering a 16 foot Scamp...for FT living... come to find out they are not as available as other campers... Thank you for your videos.. and sharing all you do and go through with the scamp.. We are sharing a lot of your Videos on our UA-cam channel.. Becca & Chris Our Journey to RV Living
Not sure how they work it but we kind of have a set list. If I keep to the list I know what fits in our rig. Dry goods for about 10 days, refrigerated about 5 days but more if we can because of Covid.
Barron, Elsa - First up, you two have gorgeous eyes and Barron you have an incredible voice. Stumbled upon your videos while searching for Winter Camping videos, and really liked them. Have been on a watching spree, watching your videos. Keep putting up such cool stuff, as we really like them. Stay safe and all the best guys!!!
Have thoroughly enjoyed your you tube vids and LOVE your adventurous spirits. We are looking at buying a very small camper and love the scamps, but they, along with our other fave the Casita, are so hard to come by! On your next trip through CO should you happen to be going through Grand Junction, we have a cozy little cabin that you are welcome to stay in for a night or two - "and your little dog too"! You are welcome to do some laundry and take a shower in the "big house". And maybe you can cook some of that "sweet sausage" for us and we'll make a lovely salad for you! :D There are TONS of amazing biking trails for you to explore (if you haven't already) and loads of access to 14ers. Just fyi, we are not "sketchy peeps"! And we too, enjoyed the slow mode of 2020 and being together, which is a good thing as we've been married for 30 years! We hope the same happiness for you two. You do make a great team. So lovely to see in a young couple. Cheers to your next adventure! The McG's
That was really an interesting and informative video. I really admire that you two are living your dream. I love seeing all the Nature in your videos, too. It's really spectacular and I notice its beauty a lot more because of your videos.
Thanks for a great Q&A. My son and I are just starting dispersed camping and have to be in Northern Utah/Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Idaho for the next few weeks before heading south. One of my concerns is our electronics for his schooling and documenting our trip. I wondered about putting them in my sleeping bag. It’s interesting to hear you keep your electronics close to you when sleeping. Lots of good info. Thanks again.
Love the information you guys share.. Kara and Nate is a good van life channel. Nate just mountain biked the Colorado trail and they stay/travel cheap whenever possible. They use harvest hosts a lot.
This is a great video!! Love all your videos but especially appreciative of this one as we get ready to go full time. These are literally questions we've had!
I have been enjoying you channel! And love to watch your process and the strides you are both making! And I also wanted to give my appreciation for introducing me to The Collection!!!! I feel at peace and the music is fresh and different and it also makes me happy❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video you guys - honest and candid. As a note from a 3yr full time vanlifer- we’re able to be sat put for 10 days comfortably. We’ll run out of water first but have started carrying more since COVID hit. It would definitely be nice to not have to pack up the van to go into town. Two weeks would be the sweet spot for us I think. Hmmmm, maybe a 5th wheel 😂
We loved Lockdown here in England too! We are on our second one right now (we live quite rurally in a small wooden building) Always a real pleasure to watch you guys! Cannot wait to see the Scamp! (Kisses for Kamp) Stay safe and happy - Love Claire ❤️🐚
I wish that I had you two as friends. So much to offer to the world. I wish you prosperity, fertility,a grasp on potential grim reality. I love you guys from Richmond, Virginia.
I just love you guys!! I am probably around your parents age, but, I love LEARNING from you!! Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us! I very much hope to meet you some day!
I really appreciate the information and tips you share. I am in the process of researching and planning to build a small teardrop trailer to travel around the west coast after I graduate college in about a year. It's scary and intimidating trying to learn how to live off grid and enjoy nature but these videos (which Ive been binging. I was up till about 2 last night watching old blizzards vlogs) really help. I have learned a lot and really appreciate the time you put into this content. I would love to hear more about your diets and health practices they are super interesting!
I agree with you... camping un winter when it’s snowing is on a the best période !!! When you love camping you may loving it anyseason 👍👍👍👍even if snow is hard sometime.... you feel more the éléments all around you !!!
Quarantine was a solid reminder that we need less than we think we do. The cause was awful, but the lesson was solid!
Amen!! Completely Agree!
I agree made me totally look at my relationship with my kids husband and people around me so differently being away from them for so long.
I agree
So true!!!!!
Well said
This is WAY better than a live stream Q&A. Keep it up. I get really bored with Live Streams. And they have down time and repeated questions.
It's refreshing to see a couple so serene and grounded.
You both have the most incredible eyes. Great q and a guys. ✌🏕
I was thinking the same thing! ❤ I always love blue eyes! They remind me of the sea. I was granted green eyes. 🐈
They would make beautiful babies
@@kimberlyenglehardt5770 that's what I said. 😁

Cute how you guys talk more to each other than to the camera. Shows your bond. ❤️

Absolutely agree that snowstorms provide an incredible calm it just feels like the world slows down and tries to get cozy ❤️❄️
I agree. Their snow storm videos are my favorite ones. ❄
I’m def going to miss New England winters now that I’m in TX. Not driving in it😳, even tho I have a Durango.
I like seeing a snow storm and when snow is on the ground, but if I have to drive in it I hate my life lol.

That was really an interesting and informative video. I really admire that you two are living your dream. I love seeing all the Nature in your videos, too. It's really spectacular and I notice its beauty a lot more because of your videos.
As others have said - you two are so adorable!! Glad you found each other - seem so compatible!!
Congrats on getting land! Elsa your dream came true... now time for a van as well!
Good to see you two!!! 🥰
Love you guys! You seem to be a true match! So happy for you!
I love you guys. You are one of my favorites.
We are on our second one right now (we live quite rurally in a small wooden building)
Always a real pleasure to watch you guys! Cannot wait to see the Scamp! (Kisses for Kamp) Stay safe and happy - Love Claire ❤️🐚
Thank you for sharing your life thoughts and ideas. Absolutely love your Videos. And! You are both very charming people.
Good stuff. Great channel. You 2 slow down my heart rate down... your chill attitudes are welcome.. thanks or my better health. Stay safe
Love you guys, always nice to see your faces and can't wait to see the Scamp again; look forward to more of these Q&A's, how can ppl send questions?
I wish that I had you two as friends. So much to offer to the world. I wish you prosperity, fertility,a grasp on potential grim reality. I love you guys from Richmond, Virginia.
What I see when I watch you vlogs is the dedication you haveto your way of life and to each other. So cool. 😎
It seems you two are really good for one another... I enjoy being on your shirt tails following along.
Thank you
I just love you guys!!
I camp in a van. When I leave to go to the store, I leave my chairs, rug and shower tent set up. So I don't have to try and find another camp spot
I totally think you are living the dream & making it work!! Looking forward to more videos. Take care!!👍
You two are funny and great. Really enjoyed this video.
I got to say I love your snow video the most
I can not wait for the winter videos!!!!!!
Great questions! The hubby’s face and voice...wow. ☺️. That “frightening” bit was nothing though. 🙄. Never heard of scamp before. Thank you.
