Solid. Lagway loves all of the big throws but needs learn to take the open check down a lot of the time. Lots of talent, any freshman's decision making is obviously not going to be perfect, but excited to see more from him.
One thing I haven't seen many people talk about is Lagway's decisions making. Incredibly impressive for a true freshman. Obviously 50% competition, and two near interceptions, is far from perfect. But the guy was playing high-school football last year, and now he's doing this in the SEC.
DJ is the textbook example of a "natural." All things considered; he represents a 10--14-point advantage for UF against any opponent we will play. I frankly see the Ole Miss game as nearly even if DJ is close to 100% - and I can't wait to see what he does in Tallahassee. Also, I can't imagine that we will struggle to find WR talent on NSD or in the portal if DJ stays on course.
DJ is taking us to the promised land, 3-0 when he plays 4 quarters, he CAN’T… BE… BEAT… Love your videos so much I wish they were double the amount of time😂
Lagway looks so good. He really seems like he can do everything that's asked of him, plus some. This team is really rallying behind him and these guys are young so I honestly believe the Gators are going to be the team to beat in the SEC next year.
He had 5 or 6 beautiful passes against LSU with the best being the off balance throw to badger at the 1 TD line after he stepped up into the pocket avoiding pressure.
Billy didn't wanna rush him out there he was still learning the offense and speed of college football and unturned of events for mertz and now dj getting a lot of experience which is gonna help next year
@bpaco4life333 Mertz has no ability to stretch the field. Lagway can. I get what you’re saying though, which is why I really didn’t have an issue with Mertz starting. It’s really a coach’s call in this kind of situation, and there was no right and wrong here. The two top coaches in the country facing a similar decision could very well make a different decision, where as on coach chose Mertz and the other choosing Lagway. I still think the Gators record would’ve been better with Lagway, but I understand why he chose Mertz.
Djs biggest impact is on the defense. He starts..the defense plays like a top 3 defense and that's with injuries on defense. My expectations is the Playoffs if he's healthy. Florida had a top 10 class after a 5-7season. Imagine the class when top guys want to play with him
Because of his lack of mobility this game he was forced into some poor throws to avoid sacks fairly often. Couldn’t throw it away because he couldn’t leave the pocket. Can’t really blame the completion percentage on him this game
Lagway will play next season, but if he shows even a small improvement he will be a projected top 10 NFL pick and go pro. Hopefully UF will get a top QB commitment to replace him
What did you think of Lagway's performance vs LSU?
Awesomeness!!
@@go.gators agreed!

@@rileychupp138 Thanks for watching, great point about the check downs!

So true! Thanks for watching!
He also got the ball out in an average 2.47 seconds this game. Incredibly impressive for a true freshman
@@SwolderQ wow! that is a great stat! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching! And totally agree, especially about wide receivers wanting to come to Florida!
Lagway is the truth. Once he’s healthy and gets some more reps he can be generational
agreed!
He is already generational. He throws the ball like Dan Marino.
DJ is taking us to the promised land, 3-0 when he plays 4 quarters, he CAN’T… BE… BEAT… Love your videos so much I wish they were double the amount of time😂
Wow that is so kind of you! Thank you for watching, will have more DJ videos on the way!
I still wish Florida had a better offensive playbook. Then again, if there was a QB to run this offense, DJ is it.

Thanks for watching, you are right, the team is rallying behind him!
2:15 #17 is Chimere Dike (dee-kay). Transferred from Wisconsin.
Thanks for clarifying!
Lagway has such poise for a freshman. That impresses me as much as his deep passing.
Thanks for watching! Great point!
Can’t wait for the UF vs Miami rematch
Florida will make the playoffs next year barring a Lagway injury
Thanks for watching! Lagway is a game changer
I can't wait til next year with a year under his belt
Thanks for watching! Great to get these games in now!

That was our favorite one as well!
I think DJ's hamstring injury forces him to develop better pocket presence, which will only make him a better quarterback.
Did all of that at 85% healthy and no sacks. Freak of nature.
Yes, super talented! Thanks for watching!
DJ is a beast in training. If Lagway is the QB from the beginning, Gators overall record would reflect that.
Billy didn't wanna rush him out there he was still learning the offense and speed of college football and unturned of events for mertz and now dj getting a lot of experience which is gonna help next year

defense just doesn't get gassed because the offense has a pulse
@@squarecracker great point here!
Lagways a generational talent. The entire team plays harder when hes leading them. All 3 phases play harder.
agreed! Thanks for watching!
We would have beaten Georgia. Lagway is special
He is special!
His efficiency isn't elite yet, but he's only started four games. I think he's already one of the better deep ball passers in the SEC.
100% agreed, and he may be the best deep ball passer already in the SEC with exception of maybe Milroe!
Wasn’t perfect, but he got the job done. Imagine if he could’ve been able to run.
Totally agree!

DJ is Tebow level plus some.
Thanks for watching! A ton of talent!

Cant go pro until 3 years out of High School
correct! Two more years of Lagway!
