      Solid. Lagway loves all of the big throws but needs learn to take the open check down a lot of the time. Lots of talent, any freshman's decision making is obviously not going to be perfect, but excited to see more from him.

    One thing I haven't seen many people talk about is Lagway's decisions making. Incredibly impressive for a true freshman. Obviously 50% competition, and two near interceptions, is far from perfect. But the guy was playing high-school football last year, and now he's doing this in the SEC.

    DJ is the textbook example of a "natural." All things considered; he represents a 10--14-point advantage for UF against any opponent we will play. I frankly see the Ole Miss game as nearly even if DJ is close to 100% - and I can't wait to see what he does in Tallahassee. Also, I can't imagine that we will struggle to find WR talent on NSD or in the portal if DJ stays on course.

    I still wish Florida had a better offensive playbook. Then again, if there was a QB to run this offense, DJ is it.

    Lagway looks so good. He really seems like he can do everything that's asked of him, plus some. This team is really rallying behind him and these guys are young so I honestly believe the Gators are going to be the team to beat in the SEC next year.

    He had 5 or 6 beautiful passes against LSU with the best being the off balance throw to badger at the 1 TD line after he stepped up into the pocket avoiding pressure.

    I think DJ's hamstring injury forces him to develop better pocket presence, which will only make him a better quarterback.

      Billy didn't wanna rush him out there he was still learning the offense and speed of college football and unturned of events for mertz and now dj getting a lot of experience which is gonna help next year

      @daw91210 День тому +2

      @bpaco4life333 Mertz has no ability to stretch the field. Lagway can. I get what you’re saying though, which is why I really didn’t have an issue with Mertz starting. It’s really a coach’s call in this kind of situation, and there was no right and wrong here. The two top coaches in the country facing a similar decision could very well make a different decision, where as on coach chose Mertz and the other choosing Lagway. I still think the Gators record would’ve been better with Lagway, but I understand why he chose Mertz.

    Djs biggest impact is on the defense. He starts..the defense plays like a top 3 defense and that's with injuries on defense. My expectations is the
    Playoffs if he's healthy. Florida had a top 10 class after a 5-7season. Imagine the class when top guys want to play with him

    Because of his lack of mobility this game he was forced into some poor throws to avoid sacks fairly often. Couldn’t throw it away because he couldn’t leave the pocket. Can’t really blame the completion percentage on him this game

    Lagway will play next season, but if he shows even a small improvement he will be a projected top 10 NFL pick and go pro. Hopefully UF will get a top QB commitment to replace him
