Honestly I feel bad for Vegeta. At base he's an epic prideful warrior, but look deeper and he's a broken man, traumatized as a child through Frieza's evil ways and made to forever doubt himself. You could tell here that he was basically clinging to Goku for dear life for this because without a rival, he couldn't prove his strength, and in his mind at the time, without strength, he didn't have pride, and without pride he had nothing. Goku may be the stronger fighter, but Vegeta is WAY deeper.
I agree that’s why I like vegeta more than any other character in the series

Vegetas character development is probably one of the best in every show I’ve ever watched. He easily one of my favorite characters of all time

I feel like he only hated Vegeta because he was one of the most complex character in the show.
In the point of view of a writer, redeeming a serial genocider and an outright evil being in a naturally convincing manner and have his story wrapped up well is a VERY hard thing to do, in my humble opinion.
But Toriyama cooked well with Vegeta, and gave him the best development out of any DBZ character for me
It is so lonesome, Vegeta has the human side weakness.
And also the human spirit to get back up and try again when he’s needed

Vegeta was the true embodiment of a Sayan King, I only hate that he was titled prince. His pride for his species was unparalleled, he truly believed
I read somewhere a nice fan theory that Vegeta doesn't title himself "King" because of his respect and admiration towards his deceased father and It really does make sense.
I also think it adds to his "Im not strong enough yet" mentality because in his inner child mind, his father is the greatest and if his father did not approve him to the king title than he's not ready yet, but since King Vegeta was murdered and this senario can't happen it puts Vegeta in a shitty mental loop because he will never have that moment with his dad.
Could be a cool DBZ movie idea... a more Vegeta centred one, though I do like the Prince title on him.

Considering goku was really his first genuine friend who wanted nothing in return from him it makes sense to me why he would be depressed, on top of being alone again so to speak and being left behind in more ways then before.

Essentially don’t show open attachments to anything/anyone otherwise it could get you killed etc. which is why expressions of pure affection and loyalty were foreign concepts for Vegeta.

@@AfroJeffreythey tried too, the devs in DBZ TV studio wanted to rewatch it but a rock came flying in at the TV cameraman and knocked the camera somehow to only show "white noise" the entire time. Thus making Mr. Satan the "mightiest man of all time". Every other fighter there left except for Mr. Satan when things started to get normal DBZ status.
Not gonna lie, I hated that character as a kid, but looking back, I realize that he really was the strongest person there. He's a human amongst "gods" and still stuck around.

Vegeta is one of my personal favorites. One of the greatest warriors to be in any anime. The way him and goku developed together from enemies to brothers is amazing.
This is why Vegeta is my favorite on the series. He's such a badass.

@@snakevenom4954 considering he was oppressed by freiza and pretty much more or less a slave, and considering as far as we knew in Z goku was the first person to be able to keep up with him and even surpass him, he saw what he didnt have in goku and saw him as a true rival and he needed the validation that he was strong from goku, this being until the bojack unbound movie, even if the movie wasnt the best it gave vegeta his fighting spirit back as anyone would loose after what happened between him and goku happened, now this movie would of been even better if he got ssj2 in this movie

Man can you imagine the sheer inner joy it brought Vegeta when Goku came back during the Buu saga? And do you remember how solum he felt when he asked Piccolo before he sacrificed himself "Will I see that fool Kakarot in otherworld?" and Piccolo broke down how Goku dedicated & sacrificed his life protecting & saving people whereas Vegeta up until that point... Didn't.
We don't need to "imagine" the joy Vegeta got when Goku came back to life because we saw it on the episode Vegeta was all up on Goku .

Vegeta questioning himself post Cell's defeat is one of the most impactful scenes that you come across in DBZ. In that moment he realizes that Goku had not only beaten him in strength but also in character. For him that hurt the most . This made him realize that just being strong was not enough . Being selfless and brave was equally important and that is what makes someone a complete warrior.

It’s because without Goku that form Trunks is in doesn’t possibly exist. It’s not that he doesn’t care about Trunks it’s just Vegeta needs Goku to be the best possible version of himself. The same way Goku needs the serious side of Vegeta to stop messing around when the time is right.

Vegeta is my favorite Dragon Ball character, and always had been since I was little.
The Prince really had the Best character devolvement in all of dragon ball.
From Evil Chaotic, To Neutral Chaotic, To Neutral Good, and Now Good. I would never say Lawful, but give the man some credit, his family he helped build changed him forever.

Some people don’t understand the kind of chills this will send down you spine, across your cheeks, in your lungs. The amount of pain this man went through alongside goku, the amount of changes he made and the power he’s gained from it all. Definitely one of the most driven characters in all of anime, even he himself was never able to stop him self from becoming greater and greater no matter what the obstacle was.
