I don't know still be a part 3 but my headcanon is that Eren ran off because he came out to his parents as gay and they reacted badly. His subconscious attraction to his English tutor is what made him head to Levi's house. He's slightly oblivious to his own attraction but in part 3 they start to realize their feelings for each other while Levi helps Eren come to terms with his decision to come out.
Eren's face at 3:14 is enough to make anyone instantly depressed
