I never would have thought of using the black pages for the background collage. Then the embossing and gold wax was stunning. I love💜 your excitement when the gold revealed the embossed pattern.
I so love your ideas . I am so blessed to have you to share them with us . I am always watching . Thank you and may god bless you alway with more ideas . You are so great at your art.
I love this card. It's really really pretty. The embossing and wilding wax look awesome!! I'm with you. I mostly don't use magazine pages. Not only because they are glossy, but they are very thin and wrinkles when glued down. When I look back on some of my crafts, I surprise myself too. It also happens with my comments. I'm smarter, more creative than I sometimes think !!
Love how these came out Luise. I have done something like this before but I painted the magazine page with white gesso, let it dry and then ran it through the big shot in an embossing folder. I then duped my finger in gold ink and rubbed it much like you have done. Turns out beautiful. Blessings, Amy💕
Embossing folders are so expensive but it's my favourite technique. Excellent use of it and the gilding wax. Almost looks like cloisonné with the brighter colours peeking through here and there. 👌
that "ahhhh.... ooooh..." that you did is what I mean when I say "squee" moment. :D picture a cartoon girl with her hands waving smiling from ear to ear in excitement. LOL I love that so much! maybe because I did the same thing. maybe I was holding my breath to see the reveal on all that texture? I love this, lady. thank you! this month is something else! so much goodness all squished into 24 days!!!
Louise you are so adorable ☺️ to get excited when you added that gold wax to the embossed area of belly band! Embossing your belly band was such a marvelous idea! I will have to make a collage with magazine paper so I can emboss it and make it so beautiful like you did. Such a marvelous idea.
Game changer! You and I will have a new respect for what can be done using magazine pages, love the gold! Thanks for opening up so many new possibilities to me! 🙏💞🎄
You would NEVER guess that was originally a mag page...how absolutely gorgeous. This next year I’m going to save up for a embossing machine. Brilliant job Luise! 🥰❤️
Purely magical creation once again Luise💥🌌🎩😃... Love it! Really fun to hear your delight when you added the gliding wax. I'm so grateful for yours and Barbara's sharing of your awesome talents!
Again WOW! It looks like tin that you would put on a ceiling! It’s hard to believe that came from magazine paper! You and your magic 😉 They turned out so cool!!!
Hi Luise: Love your endless creativity. That belly band turned out beautifully! The embossing and gilding wax brought the whole piece together. You’ve inspired me to give it a go. Thank you. 💜😎🇺🇸
I love what you did! In scrapbooking back in the day we called that serendipity paper. Tearing patterned paper or magazine pages and collaging them into something new. I enjoyed watching the transformation, embossing and gilding was genius! You would never know they were magazine pages when you were finished. I use clear gesso to remove the gloss off of magazine pages... Gives them a rough texture that is really cool!
It's funny that everything you hate about magazines: the BRIGHT COLORS, the shiny texture and the thinness of the papers are exactly why I LOVE them. Great job on this page! I love your series.
If you want to use a glossy magazine page, you can paint matte medium over it to make it a matte finish. I love your idea of embossing the magazine pages for your bellyband.
So very cool. I really like watching you and Barbara go through your thought process in meeting each prompt challenge. It has helped me look at my creative process differently. I absolutely love the drama as Barbara would say that you created with the wax on top of the embossed black. Absolutely stunning. I think something that would have added more drama would have been to add some gold buttons to the top where you attached the lace. Especially those beautiful embossed metal buttons.
Another WOW! I too do not like using most magazine images because of the shiny surface. I use my matte gel medium on them to cut down on the shine. I am totally amazed with what you have done in this video! This just looks so amazing! I am going to give this a try! Thank you so much again for sharing your creativity!
You made a magazine look fabulous! I think this is one for me since I am making my daughter a journal for her last year before marriage! I am so excited to try this!
BEE-utifully done Lusia!! WOWSERS IMPRESSIVE!!! The gold wax makes it really pop!! I like to I've magazines, newspaper or junk mail for glue book pictures or to make paper beads. I also paint or gelli-plate over theses pages. Namesta ✌️🕉️🐞
Oh these have turned out amazing! I love the textures and they are so dramatic. I love my embossing folders but I'd never thought to use them like this. Beautiful x
Again stunning Luise😍😍 This looks amazing with the black magazine paper and that gorgeous embossing folder. The pocket and the lace finished it up to another wonderful creation. Bis morgen. Liebe grusse Maia
Lo! I'm not a magazine girl. The embossing and wax look gorgeous 😍😍. The edges bother me too, great work around. They look fab! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖
Wow, that looks amazing, it reminds me of an old church window. I will have to get an embossing machine one day. There seem to be do many possibilities 🙃
I hate that shiny sheen of most magazines as well. If I use them, I put a layer of liquid glue, or matte medium on the magazine pages; and/or use magazine pages that don't have the shiny sheen. But you most certainly handled it very well from your project. That card stock paper colored matched perfectly. Beautiful!
Morning Luise, WOW, the magazine paper belly bands turned out super cute and yummy. The gold that made the embossing stand out so brilliantly, was pure genius. I also don't like the magazine paper, but seeing what you did with yours, I will try and use more magazines in my journaling. Love this series with you and Barbara and seeing how different you both do the prompt. You are both so imaginative and your enthuiziasm is so catching, I just want to rush off and go and do something creative. Thank you for this inspiring idea, see you again tomorrow, same time, same place with a good cup of early morning coffee. Blessings as always from Cape Town. Diana
I love how excited you get when something you create looks beautiful to you. I totally get that. I just received some cutting dies & one is a giant Tim Holtz butterfly & the other some of the big wildflower dies & I am so excited to create some beautiful ink coloured cardstock to cut out the dies & see how they come out. And I want to use foam to turn them into stamps for Gelli printing. I keep going to look at my dies & pat them lol. Can’t wait to see how they turn out 😁 Hopefully half as beautiful as these belly bands!
I get an Egyptian vibe from these... Just loved your genuine excitement & surprise... It's infectious! 💛💫🌟
Luise,
yes, so funny: I really hate magazines!
Oh! I really love this! Bwahahahahahaha. 🤣
The piecing, embossing, then gold was brilliant!
Beautiful 💖
Absolutely Beautiful! The embossed effect on that paper is amazing. Then once you added color to the page, blew it out the park. TFS 💜🦋
I never would have thought of using the black pages for the background collage. Then the embossing and gold wax was stunning. I love💜 your excitement when the gold revealed the embossed pattern.
The colors are wonderful and the embossing with the gold is magnificent!!!

Ooohhh! I love the embossing and the gold embellishing it! You cannot tell it started as a glossy magazine page!
These are gorgeous. I love how excited when you added the gold. Your creativeness has no end it seems.
Embossing folders are so expensive but it's my favourite technique. Excellent use of it and the gilding wax. Almost looks like cloisonné with the brighter colours peeking through here and there. 👌
What beautiful results. The embossing really upgraded what could have been just another belly band. I really love them.
You do such unusual things that I would never think of. They always turn into something unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents.

You would never know that it was made of magazine paper. So beautiful and I love the pocket idea. TFS. Niki.
What an incredible difference the gilding wax made.
Again you are so creative, even with items you don’t usually use or like to work with and turn it into a piece of art you will use.

Truly from junk to gem on this one Louise! It turned out so beautiful when you added the gold paste. TFS blessings from Ohio.
I once sewed a tag into a belly band. Lucky for me, I noticed it before It went to the owner.
Outstanding! This is so elegant and totally transformed the ugly shiny magazine!
