  • Module 3 of Curriculum globALE will touch upon the most important medium of interaction between people - communication, and will also explore developments of Group dynamics during the learning process within Adult learning and education training activities.
    The first part of this lesson will outline the development stages of a group and comment upon roles and actions in a team. The second part will present principles and ideas for creating positive group dynamics in learning groups.

    Toms Urdze was studying pedagogy with a focus on adult education in Oldenburg, Germany. After this he worked in the Latvian Adult Education Association for several years. During this time, he has been an active trainer in Latvia and abroad for the past 25 years, working with a wide variety of target groups. His main focus are topics related to teaching and learning, but for the past 15 years he has been designing and implementing team development trainings.
    Toms is also the creator of Metodes.lv, which is the most visited resource in the Latvian language on topics related to teaching, learning and leadership (parts of the content are also published in English).
    Currently he works as a methodological expert at the Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, where he supports teachers in the adaptation of educational technologies and the development of online courses.
    In 2019 he also was delivering Modules 3 and 4 of the Curriculum globALE within the project “Professionalisation of Adult Educators in Civic Education” in a face-to-face training.
