These videos are great for fashion advertisement. They really sell you the fantasy. But traveling in clothes like that is really unrealistic. While I was in India I saw few girls walking around that looked like they had popped straight out of an Anthropologie catalog. But they didn’t look free spirited and worldly, they looked like spoiled, rich white girls huddled together like penguins looking for their Instagram shot. It’s just really jarring to see them snapping photos on their iPhones in their hundred fifty dollar sandals while people are literally begging for change at their feet. By all means you should travel, see the world, but be mindful of your privilege. All flaunting your good fortune will do is get your pocket picked clean.
