  • This video is about Adventures in Karting Season 3 Episode 3
    Join me through the adventure of racing in the Rotax Max Master class at the Calgary Kart Racing Club (CKRC).
    This episode I am super excited because my pace is very good and I'm about to have a good result! Unfortunately something gets in the way and we have a small disaster on our hands. Find out what happens in this exciting episode! Head with me to the track to see what happens on the epic Race #8 of the Rotax Masters Championship.
    In this episode I begin to introduce a couple COUBs! that I find entertaining. I hope you enjoy!
    We also try out a new Alfano Pressure Gauge. They sent it over for us to check it out. It's GREAT! www.alfano.com/...
    Thanks for watching!

    Sorry for all the carnage and broken parts. I will have my first kart and hopefully up and running this week, I will be running a Formula K chassis with a VLR engine which i will be getting installed by Craig at Area 27 Kartplex. After this video I am happy with my choice to buy the ROK VLR engine. The simplicity of an air cooled engine and not having to worry about rads etc.

      The ROK VLR is good. Just be sure to warm it up carefully. They don't like going hard when cold like the Rotax. Our club has had a few failures that we feel are most likely attributed to running cold. Welcome to the sport!

    Bugger with the crash mate, I had the same last club day going into the 1st corner. Bent a rear axle, smashed the chain guard, clutch guard and coil pack. Oh well that's racing, fix it up and get back out there 👍👍

    In UK a crash like that would cause a regrid and fresh roll up, do they not do that over there?

    • @brentkadler2870
      @brentkadler2870  4 роки тому

      They will red flag the race if the other karts are approaching the crash. I suspect if we were there for another 5-10 seconds they would have stopped the race. Our club generally lets the race go unless there is a safety concern. IF anyone appears injured, the track becomes obstructed, then they will red flag.

    • @Richard25000
      @Richard25000 4 роки тому

      I see, we have a false start flag that comes out if more than a couple individuals spin. Green with yellow sheveron.
      There is usually a defined zone say 1st quarter of lap 1.
      Everyone returns to their grid slot and rolls up again for restart.

    Hey Brent my name is vince I'm 57yrs old and I'm interested in karting. How do i go about matching tire and rim ?

    • @brentkadler2870
      @brentkadler2870  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Vince! I'd suggest to reach out to your local kart club. Each club runs different rubber and they'd be able to help you determine which rim and tire to get! Even between Edmonton and Calgary (in the same province of Canada) we run different tire sizes on some classes. Cheers and welcome to the sport!

    Your tyre pressure is too low I would add at least 2 psi on all sides

    • @brentkadler2870

      I'd love to know how you came to this conclusion. What are you seeing on the video?

    • @josephmcqueen4964
      @josephmcqueen4964 4 роки тому

      Brent Kadler because you have labels on your tyre pressure gauge. You should not be running 8 psi unless the weather is 30 degrees Celsius. It will also help your cornering as it will help “float” you around. And therefore stop your hopping

    • @brentkadler2870
      @brentkadler2870  4 роки тому

      @@josephmcqueen4964 Thanks for the input. The last couple months it has been 30C. The sticker on the gauge is the recommended pressures from Mojo. I use it as a reference. When track conditions are cooler I ofter go higher than the max recommended. I actually have a video coming up on this topic! I'd love your thoughts and opinion on it. Give me a couple weeks to edit it all together.
