Civivi is such a consistent brand. They always put out great knives that are high quality and have great fit n finish. Never tried a double detent but it is something that I want to check out. Great video once again JB. Have a great night.
I'm loving that more and more companies are bringing double detent knives to the market! To me they are the best of both worlds regarding legality and fidget fun!
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
I want to try the ap drifter I have a few versions of the lock back, and the NEWEST version is a liner lock with pocket clip 👌🏼 the red carbon fiber model looks awesome
I like the S35VN in the Drifter much more than the D2 found in the Gent. And the addition of the pocket clip puts it on the maybe list. Thanks for sharing JB.
You're right you're on a roll to put on some good nights back to back 85 bucks ain't that bad it's not really in my wheelhouse but that's not a bad price for that knife you keep up the good work brother keep knocking these reviews at the Ballpark stay safe my friend
I've been wanting the rustic gent for a while but held off as its a lock back and not legal carry in the UK, I look forward to this one being available over here. Thanks JB cool review♥️🔪
That's a handsome design! I like the looks of it a little better than the rustic gent. Wish it was also a lockback, though. Nothing against detents, I just really like lockbacks. Thanks for the look at this one, buddy.
That knife is pretty awesome, The micarta is nice, except for the "bolster line" which just looks messy. I would prefer the lockback with the micarta and the pocket clip.
Really like the look of that knife. Have an even smaller one I think the TS241. So some practice with double detent. Liked the look when first saw it. Now after some reviews it is on the must have list. Enjoyed the review. How was the detent in pocket? Any issues with it opening or did you keep it in a sheath? I really need to try it. Thanks for sharing it.
I love the look of the Appalachian but while I was looking for one on a German site ( Messer & co) I discovered they have the Civivi Trailblazer in 14C28N for €86.00 so I am going for that. Though I might just start a change jar for the App.
@@BigRedEDC Luv them knives has a good review, if you want to get an idea of what the Trailblazer is like. I prefer backsprings with some oomph on a slippy.
I'm likin these traditional moderns but not totally sold on the Double Detent yet. I'll stick to my Half Stop Walk & Talk & keep the fidgeting to my Flippin Framelocks
Like the shape and lines but double detent is a knife that is so dangerous to use unless it has a bit of the blade to hang on in the handle. Great as a fidget knife but as a user not so much.
I see what you are saying Todd, but when used properly there isnt much issue. Never had a slip joint or double detent close on me. Thanks for watching!!
@@skcamerican honestly...that depends on the Rough Ryder. I've had then with varying degrees of stiffness in the backspring. The detent was strong enough that I had no issues with it!
Probably best looking modern traditional I own. Great materials too . But man the double detent sucks. IMO its just not safe for a "user" knife. Needs some kind of finger choil or something to stop it folding in so easily. Either that or a proper back spring slip joint. Cheers.
I love the knife but I carried it for a bout the week and the blade literally bended because it's just that thin not even dont any crazy work just cutting boxing

I do too david!! Thanks for watching my friend!
Great review brother. I really like what Civivi has done with this knife. Upgrading to S35vn is a huge deal. Have a fantastic day

Just watching this! Thinking about getting one. I don’t have any skip joints. Thinking about trying this one.
Right on Mitchell! Pretty decent knife overall!!
Interesting that they did it no lock up. Damn good looking knife.
A little something different! Thanks for watching Will!
Actually great. Thats the only way to carry a Flipper kife here in Germany. I Love it

Right on David! Lots of comments so far about this being a dangerous knife! So much so that there is a response video coming!
Nice, great product change up.
I think so too Rusty! Thanks for watching!!
I've got the EWC. I'll have to check this one out. I like that micarta.
The micarta is really nice!!
Very nice looking knife
Thanks for watching Aaron!!
Civivi is a great knife company
They make some very good knives for sure Talbert!!

I have 0 rust on my D2 from Civivi and i live on the ocean front pretty good stuff
I dont have an issue with my D2 either Don. Thanks for watching!
Sweet blades
Thanks for watching!
Love it
Thanks brother!!
What are less expensive options for non-locking, double detent small knives?
It's hard to find less expensive double detent knives but there plenty of modern slipjoints like the Kizer Pinch, Artisan Biome

Good review
Thank you very much Randy
Digging it brother, shit is pretty nice.

Thanks brother!
You should try the new crkt symmetry

I tried lefty love once but couldn't get the stroke right
Hey Jody I missed the price on the Drifter what was it again.
Its $85ish Larry. Thanks for watching!!
@@BigRedEDC ok thanks
@@traditionallarry5378 anytime my friend!
So there are two detent balls? Does that make detent more reliable? I don’t get it.
Yes there are. One to hold it shut and one to hold it open!! It was reliable for me!!
@@BigRedEDC is it stiffer to open or close than a Rough Ryder?
@@skcamerican honestly...that depends on the Rough Ryder. I've had then with varying degrees of stiffness in the backspring. The detent was strong enough that I had no issues with it!

Wow...kinda wonder what you were doing with it!
@@BigRedEDC nothing really heavy duty just cutting boxes
@@BigRedEDC it was the very tip of the blade
Prefer the Rustic Gent over the App Drifter.
Right on Jack! Thanks for watching!
They know their market... And will milk it to the max.
Thanks for watching Rick!
That’s a good looking knife but it’s blood thirsty it cut Zach good so I will pass on this one lol
The Trailblazer bit Zach. I've never had that issue! Thanks for watching
