- You might think it's an obvious answer, but the majority of folks don't know where the YuGiOh manga is in the west. i'm going to tell you what you'll see from Japan and how the manga is serialized.

I can tell you, the original is the absolute best experience I have ever experienced, if I ever had control of the yugioh anime, i would make a faithful recreation of the original manga from start to finish.

Sadly Arc-V isn't the current manga lol. The current manga is about deck building and it even calls the game Yugioh! Plus I don't think you pointed out the fact the mangas have COMPLETELY different storylines than the anime.Though the creator of the series had alot more influence on 5Ds for example he was the one who designed Stardust Dragon. Nice video like always though!

From what I understand Yugioh R was so bad that Kazuki Takahashi declared it was not canon after it was done and was further retconned with the recent movie

Mohammed Al Nass I agree with you on this. It was nice to see a yu-hi-oh manga that got back to the dark roots that started the series. Also R may not be canon, but that could be because it’s an offshoot of the mystery of what happened to pegasus. R Is pegasus died and gx is Pegasus survived some way at duelist kingdom

The GX manga and classic season 0
are my absolute favorite. The dark side of the classic is just so crazy and wild, and the GX has an amazing plot, really love the Chazz part with his LAD, and the backstory of Jaden having a teacher like person. Love it. Everyone's decks are so much better too. I mean EVERYONE.

that sport anime is called captain tsubasa (majed in the dub of my country) it`s so popular even my mom watched it

Here in Mexico it was very popular too, they changed the name to "Super Campeones" (Super champions(?)) Tsubasa name was changed to Oliver Atom, and the dub was hilariously funny, in the first episodes they even said that Oliver (Tsubasa) was saved by the virgin of guadalupe xD

Great anime although quite cheesy in both the arab dub and french dub I've watched.

Umm..Takahashi was involved with character creation and concept art for future Yugioh stories. Its included in his note in the Duel artbook released by Udon.

"That sports manga" Damn, in south-america Capitan Tsubasa is known even by non-anime fans. I think that it has to be with the popularity of soccer in here.
The Dark side of Dimentions movie is actually a continuation of the manga, although this only applies to the Japanese version, as the 4kids dub changed lines to make it fit more in line with the anime's dub.
Extreme game isnt a new expansion, its actually a Battle Spirits show (not like an anime, but an actual show) where teams of 3 have to beat 3 Guardians (each member fighting 1 Guardian) and take on the king to win 1 mil yen, they also do card reveals at the end of the show

That card is Red Blossoms of Underroot or Blood Blossoms from Afterlife. Blood Blossoms is part of the Ghost Sisters archetype. What it does is this: Banish 1 spell/trap from each GY to special summon it. You can tribute it to banish 1 type of extra deck monster in either GY so you can special summon 1 extra deck monster from your GY. But it has to be a different type.
So let’s say that there’s an XYZ monster in the opponent’s GY and you have a Synchro monster in your GY. You can tribute Blood Blossoms to banish the XYZ monster and special summon your Synchro monster.
While omnibus isnt a wrong term i neverheard people refer to it as that before and the term tankobon is way more commonly used but mabey thats just my personal experience
I'd bet it's more like "the most used english term is "omnibus" ", since else people everywhere I look call it tankobon most of the time too, if not just saying stuff like "oh, this volume of (x-manga") is really nice".

I really enjoyed picking up the arc V manga's as they were released while I lived in Japan. Since they're made for a younger audience the Kanji had the hiragana next to them. So it was a fun way to learn more kanji writings as I read them.
The use of the word omnibus to describe standard volumes is kind of getting to me lol. Generally an omnibus is a compilation of 2 volumes or more.

Mohammed Al Nass yeah wtf, since when was it bad? I remember it being amazing
read 3 out of 5 volumes on it, so maybe i'm no authority on it, but it really wasn't all that good to me so far. it has it's perks as another arc of yugioh i guess, but ultimately it just felt like a bland filler arc. yugi, kaiba and joey are in it just to duel and don't seem to have any character arcs, the villain is basically just duke devlin, if he played duel monsters, the plot has been paper thin and written like a low-plot video game, where it's all about beating different bosses, plus the idea of wicked gods just seems uninspired.
don't get me wrong, i had some fun reading it so far, but critically there just wasn't much to latch onto for me
robiu013 alright then, i might be biased but wouldn’t ANYBODY want to see another arc with the original characters (even if it’s bad) over these other shows/mangas with characters that don’t really have anything to do with Yu-gi other than loose references or brief cameos?
@@ProfessorDubs not really. there are still people, who are avid fans of the later seasons and series. though obviously original ygo has more hype in numbers.
but that's not really the point i was making. The point being that ygo r is probably one of the weaker arcs in all of ygo.

The original Yu-Gi-Oh and Duelist manga are my favourite media of the series so far. I'm gonna read YGO R soon.
Sadly vjump stated that they won't be doing Yu-Gi-Oh promo cards anymore, at least not for the foreseeable future.

That card is called Blood Blossom of the Afterlife, it's a hard trap and it's from the June issue.
Printed in English as "Red Blossom From Underroot" with the effect- If this card is in your hand: You can target 1 Spell/Trap in each GY; banish them, and if you do, Special Summon this card. You can Tribute this card, then target 1 Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Monster in either GY; banish that target, and if you do, Special Summon 1 monster from your GY with a different monster card type (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link) from that target. You can only use each effect of "Red Blossoms from Underroot" once per turn.
The first manga I ever read was the first dragon ball manga when I was about 9 ish and oh man my surprise when the manga had guy and lady parts on full display lol. Early dragonball was very pervy lol.

The Arc-V manga ended recently, actually. The last omnibus comes out in a few months but it finished in the English like a few weeks ago, I think. They're now actually doing a new original manga series, I think?

In Finland, we call the collected book form of previously released chapters "pokkari" and it loosely translates to a pocket book.
Yugioh vrains is around 100 episodes in and there is still no vrains manga

They have a digital subscription now, I use it all the time on my tablet

@@Cinomod6066 Yea my shelves are the same, I only order physically copies of my favorite series now or if they came out with a hardcover deluxe edition. I highly recommend the digital platform though, being able to read the chapters on the go without taking up space has been a game changer for me
I wish Vrains got a manga but I would love to make a fan manga to see how I would take the story. At least the Sevens manga looks interesting since it revolves around a side character. I hope we eventually get the Japanese Bunkōban version of the original manga because it had full color artwork by Takahashi and exclusive interviews

I'm not sure if you can call it a Shonen Jump version. It was published monthly, but because the individual series were starting to get really popular (Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh), it seems it was stopped so the series could release at a faster pace as individual volumes. I enjoyed that format greatly though, it's a shame it couldn't be retained.
Yu-Gi-Oh was the first anime and manga I've ever met in my entire life and I owe isalita Kashi everything for introducing me to the world of Manga and anime

DB Super is nice. It's a resource game like MTG, but with a card stringing combo system like flashy YGO decks.

Seriously dude, why the hate on Yu-Gi-Oh R? The series was based on an idea for the original series, and fits very naturally into the timeline. It follows up on old characters like Bandit Keith, and finally gives them a little closure. In addition, there's tons of call backs to the original series, like Jonouchi's shoes having a hole in them from the scorpion death game. The art is great as well, keeping all of the characters on model with the original manga, but still being distinct enough to appear different with tons of great backgrounds, shading and linework. The themes are consistent with the original series (having an emphasis on friendship and personal growth), and the story itself is solid. The idea of Pegasus J Crawford's disciples having access to OP cards and wanting revenge on Yugi is fun. The only true flaws I can think of is a couple duels being cut short. Certainly seemed a lot better than the 5D's manga, which had pretty meh art. Also, almost all of the manga in V-Jump you showed had kinda trash art I thought, why the praise?
Where were Yako and Gekko in Duelist Kingdom? There were plot holes, the duels were short. It was bad.

That's true, but not the Japanese ones as they can have different attributes and effects.
Oh yeah Shueisha is targeting videos that showcases full pages of Dragon Ball mangas, ok it's possible that they stopped doing that as it goes with companies regularly going through their copyright takedown phase for a week so please check if that manga issue is still relevant or not
The ''sports thing'' is Captain Tsubasa, I think. It was pretty much the outstanding soccer manga of the 70s, so that's neat.
Also, seeing a manga magazine, or you know, a Japanese with that orientation for the first time feels awesome.

I'm half Japanese that grew up both in Japan and the United States. I used to buy various Japanese Manga magazines religiously. There are other weekly magazines like Shonen Jump and several other monthly Jump magazine; however, I never viewed V-Jump as a monthly Manga magazine but rather a magazine about the latest news pertaining to various Shuueisha (company that ownes Jump) related products. This is why there r soo many "ads" or news on various upcoming games/products. If u read any other weekly or monthly Jump magazines such as Super Jump, Young Jump, etc., you'll see there aren't nearly as many "ads" as in V-Jump. Just wanted to clearify that not all weekly or monthly magazines r like this (´>∀

the deportist guy it is tsubasa osora, from captain tsubasa, it is like the one of the best animes of soccer (futbol in the rest of the world) and also a great anime, in 2018 started a remake made from the guys who make jojo's BA
in the anime yugioh is in the V.Rains series who uses link monsters and VR battles.

My elementary school library had the first 8 volumes of the original manga and I've probably through them about 3 or 4 times. I had no idea it kept going after that til years later.

As you were looking through the book, I wanted to skip forward, but because japanese books are flipped compared to the books I’m used to the they go from right to left, I ended up double-tapping on the left side (which made me go back 10 seconds instead of skipping ten seconds ahead.

Shonen manga and anime are primarily targeted towards young teenage boys (12-18). And I remember how dark the manga was.
I myself honestly enjoyed Yu-Gi-Oh! R quite a bit. Also, this probably is known by now as this video is over a year old, but R takes place after Battle City, not Duelist Kingdom.

One of those people that stopped after the ending of the original. Watched a few episodes of GX here and there, then I just stopped. The "Fake" God monsters and the Egyptian thing was just ridiculous.
Literally never saw a thing after GX.

I get the whole "subtitles being distracting" thing, but the series is more serious and makes more sense that way. Same deal for the other shows.

Agree hell i hope they remake the whole original yugioh anime that is more faithful to the manga thats darker grittier than the duel monsters anime that dosent skip the first seven volumes and that also adapts yugioh r i know their is season 0 but that is still heavily toned down from the manga and skips some chapters
@@jackko21 we deff deserved a darker tone yugioh, crazy that in adulthood I actually prefer the sub over the dub just because the dialogue was so much better

I wouldn't really consider a tankobon volume an omnibus, Its more of a TPB. When I think of Omnibus, I think of a minimum 20 to 25 chapters or issues in any given comic book.
Yeah, I’ve always just called them Manga volumes to differentiate between them and manga chapters in the magazines. When I heard omnibus I initially just pictured the recent 3-in-1 volumes with thinner paper.
Also, I hate that the collected volume versions of Yugioh get a downgrade in quality, rather than making them even higher quality like the Berserk and Battle Angel Alita deluxe editions.
THERE'S A WORD FOR THEM! THANK YOU! I've never heard of tankobon and I will now be referring to them as such. However, omnibus is an umbrella term that would also incorporate tankobons which is why I used it just to be safe.
