As long as the ball joint is not bigger on this body then you could fit it. If it's smaller you could still make it fit by adding electric tape on the ball or little pieces of paper in the head's socket. Since they are the same size figure I don't see why they wouldn't use the same ball joint size.
I have the Empire Strikes Back Vader, and I am hoping I can put the normal Obi-Wan Show Vader helmeted head from this new version on the ESB Vader, so I don't have to deal with the helmet falling off constantly. lol
@@michaelmyersplays4992 i pre ordered mine only a couple days ago before it sold out and it said it’s expected to ship around february thru march or april, hopefully pretty soon because i’m too impatient😅😂
Superb figure although it is a real shame that Hot Toys had to cheap out and use the floor base as an exclusive deluxe piece when it is a reuse piece from the 1/4 scale Hot Toys Return Of The Jedi figure released a good while ago.
I was thinking the same, but I have heard those who have used 3rd party genuine leather replacements, report that it's typically very stiff, which severely limits poseability. I can't blame HT though. Nobody really complains, and customers keep buying. The material deteriorates, and they find another reason to buy another. Wash, rinse, repeat. I agree that this review is awesome, though!
My crap leather material Hot Toys are still in prime condition from the day they 1st came out of the box. I’m curious how do others display these that cause the crap leather material to deteriorate?
@@TheAztec010 that's exactly the thing, nobody really knows what the difference is! People say humidity, or temperature or time kept inside the box but people have inconsistent results, some like yourself are fine but so many have them peeling all over the place after two years in a display cabinet without being touched. Whenever they use this material they basically put an expiration date on the figure for a lot of collectors.
@@nonametofame Absolutely they sell anyway, don't they? We all complain but they don't listen because they know they don't have to. Totally right, possibility could go down with better materials, it would just be good if they gave people the option to choose lol.
This looks so good and will be a grail in many peoples collection, including mine. I preordered a first batch DX28B version from TW so I’m somewhat nervous about whether I’ll get it anytime soon if at all, 🤞
Get your money back. They do not send out for the most part. Only the odd one to appear they're in business to scam others. Do full charge back now and order elsewhere until it's too late and sold out. Don't waste time emailing them, they will only make excuses.
Don't ever pre-order with TW lol. Idk what country you're in but for US collectors Sideshow is the only place I trust. Outside the US I'm not sure but I do know TW has a horrible track record.
MMS388-The Rogue One version's cape looks softer and more billowy. I liked MMS 388's Cloak better. I looked at other videos and the new model seems to have a different, less wavy fabric. Is it possible to compare the two versions ?
Need to protect it with 303 protect leather. Each 6 month apply once Put it in a cool room best is no sunlight and have AC turn on. My HT pleather 2-3 years no problem still look like new. Alot of people tend to wait til it start flaking only start apply maintenance~
How’s the poseability of the helmets? Mine keeps fighting with me and popping off the heads when I try to tilt the head up and down or left and right. Is it the same with you?
Is the chest panel glued to the body and the suit impossible to remove? I'm planning to take off my suit and take care of it, so I'd like to know if it's possible to take it off.
Good video. Very thorough, good insight. If I may: faux, as in faux leather, is pronounced like “foe.” Not trying to offend, i appreciate the audio being in my native language, just thought you may want to know.
The figure looks great but the huge cloud in the room would be the suit , hot toys vader suits don't last long & judging by looking at this suit it looks pleather
Why is there only half of the shoulder armor? I don't get why they always use this crap pleather material and double ply tunics. The only upside is the sculpt and USB lights. FYI: hot toys does a lot of photoshopping on the figures. There are always differences. I don't believe them anymore lol
It's not photoshop. It's just really professional lighting and posing mixed with a unique prototype figure. That figure gets way more time and effort into it. Then they make a process to replicate that as easy as possible with constant result. That's why the sculpt are softer and the paint is never as detailed. Instead of being meticulously painted by the top artists designing the figure it's now painted step by step by rows of Chinese factory workers.
@@etiennemorrissette5500 The headsculpts are. It's one of the biggest factor for the price. For the prototype it's usually the same artist who will do everything and make it look as good as possible on a perfect sculpt. When that gets approved by the licence holder they then break down a process to make the production ones. The production sculpts are not as detailed and the painting process is simplified. They can have one artist do all the skin shading one head at a time the same way for hundreds of heads. Another artist will airbrush something else. Another one will paint the lips. Another one do the eyelashes and so on. It has to be simple, fast but also consistent from head to head.
Switching gloves on Vader will never not be a nightmare lol
Nice figure for setup!
Mine arrived today from Hong Kong. Great review
I am more amused than I should be that his arm range is pretty canon compliant.
I wonder if the ROTJ Vader head would fit onto this one. Would be cool to be able to swap them around

Does the helmet look more like EP 3 helmet rather than Kenobi helmet or am I imagining things? lol
Definitely looks nothing like ep 3.
Gloves and codpiece are not resin as far as I know they are pvc…soft vinyl
