the olympus zoom ones don't have the best image quality and are prone to circular light leaks from the lens. There are non replaceable light seals in the lens that deteriorate. Prime lens point and shoots are more valuable because the lenses are way better (contax t/t2/t3 being the best). Olympus, contax, minolta, ricoh and Nikon all made great prime lens point and shoots
Thanks for the input. I'll have to keep an eye out for that but so far, so good. I wish I could get my hands on a Contax T2/T3 but I just don't see myself dropping that much cash on something so old and flimsy. The only reason I got this Olympus is because I bargained down to $160. I'd also consider a Contax G2 because of the interchangeable lenses.
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV Yes the prices are crazy and I wouldn't pay them either. I was lucky enough to get a G1 for a crazy deal a few years ago and it is a favorite camera of mine. I think I would buy another one if it broke but the G2 is a bit out of my price range. It's a lot like a point and shoot except the aperture priority operation makes it perfect for my style of shooting. For my point and shoot I've been using the original Olympus stylus/mju 1. It has a great 35mm f3.5 lens and the clamshell design protects everything so you can throw it in your pocket without worrying. The 35mm lens on my G1 is definitely better but the Olympus lens is almost as good in most situations
@@garvinkelly Duly noted. Kudos to you then! This is actually my first 'official' film camera ever and, like I said in the video, needed for it to do most of the heavy lifting. I'm sure I'll get my hands on something with a fixed lens but I'm just testing film stocks more than anything right now. In hindsight, the Portra 400 looks pretty good except we got hit with a rainstorm and, judging by the results, Porta 800 would've been better with the little sun we ended up having. Had we experienced a bright and sunny day, the Portra 400 would've been more than fine.

how to properly use it?
You bet! I have a few weddings this month so I’ll take it along.

@@FranciscoAlvarezTV portra 800 is my favorite color film! Good choice
@@garvinkelly I’ll look into it next. I’ll have to be mindful not to use flash as often. I’d hate for every picture to be blown out.
