Tungsten Crema Wheat Amp - 5E3 Tweed Deluxe demo by guitarist Greg Vorobiov
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2009
- Tungsten Crema Wheat Amp 20 watt 5E3 Tweed Deluxe with a stock Custom Shop Fender Nocaster - Telecaster plugged directly into the amp, no pedals were used. The amp has a close mic but the voice mic picks up the ambient room sound and a small room reverb was added in post production to replicate a more accurate live room sound.

Thumbs up if you watched this more then 10 times!!
dacrowster Yup! I have a used one on its way to me. I have been gassing for this amp since I first saw this video in Oct 2009. My Swart AST Pro has been great and I think, from what I have read, that the Crema will be a nice complement to the Swart. Yes, I secretly want to be, or at least play/sound like, Greg V. The Master!
The tones are just insane. Seems like 5E3 with a 6G3 input stage, w/ the normal 5E3 2nd gain stage, Deluxe Reverb Transformers, and maybe some changes w/ the power supply and power tube biasing. And it's got the GZ34 so all the tubes are working at higher voltages of course. And of course the great greenback-style speaker. I could build it but it probably wouldn't sound the same :P
Wow! So crazy to think that I created this video 10 Years ago! I'm really, truly, grateful for all the kind words and that you all have enjoyed this demo, thank you! And yes, I still have my Crema Wheat amp and love it. Right on!!!
Great to see you back Greg.!😎 what’s the speaker in your Tungsten Crema? Sounds freakin’ incredible!!
@@moonshot1999 Thanks! I recommend that everyone use a Celestion G12H30 Anniversary in the Crema Wheat as that's what I put in my Crema Wheat right after doing this demo. The G12H30 delivers more volume, bass, complex midrange and sweet treble compared to the Scumback speaker that the amp came with. The Celestion speaker is stunning in an already killer amp.
Crazy - I just clicked on this (came up on my feed) and remembered watching it when you first uploaded it. Still sounds incredible a decade later!
GregV, I wish we heard more playing from you. I always thought you were a phenomenal player.
@@GregVorobiov thanks Greg this is my favourite demo. Never been bettered. Glad you kept it.
You got me on the road to Tungsten and Swart amps. Now have several of each including a Crema Wheat.
Too cool, glad to hear!
Hands down, the BEST tweed demo I have ever heard in my life !!!!! Wow. Stunned.
Thank you! Glad you like the demo.
Tele straight into a tweed, ain't nothin betta. This video never gets old. Just killer playing...
I'm salivating over this amp! must have one NOW! LOL
I’m so gLad Adam is making Tungsten Amps again! Excellent vid and stellar playing
That's great to hear, thanks!
One of the coolest amps I own. I set both channels to 10. Tone almost all the way up. No pedals required. Classic 5e3 Tone.
Yes! The mighty 5E3 tweed Deluxe rules!
Greg, you make the best amp demos! Beautiful playing.
god that tone! I've been watching this video about three times a week for like 4 years. love your playing.
one of the best 5e3 (tweed deluxe) demos on you tube, good work
It's one of the only rare demo's that actually sound good, not compressed just like you are in the room, thanks!!
What an unbelievably dynamic amp! Great demo and fantastic playing....
Holy mole! My pal Keith told me about these a few years ago. I'm just now hearing one. Marvelous stuff!
Fantastic video, fantastic amp, and fantastic playing!
Thanks very much! Keep on playing and NEVER stop!
Very nice, Fender really got things right. Amazing dynamics.
Beautiful sound. Congratulations.
Man, I love how sparkly and defined is but it doesn't get harsh. Great playing dynamics and tone.
Tremendous tone. Tremendous chops. Tremendous taste. I absolutely love everything about this video. Great work.
@haalkan I'm grateful you enjoy my playing and appreciate the kind words, thank you. I love so many artists from a wide range of genres, basically any artist who is authentic, heartfelt and has a true identity. Just a few are: Adele, old Elton John, Bob Dylan, Mark Goldenberg, Bill Frisell, Hendrix, The Meters, Bulgarians Womens Choir, Roy Smeck, Allison Krauss, Buddy Miller, Emmylou Harris, Manchester Orchestra, Ted Hawkins, Chris Whitley, Daniel Lanois, Brian Blade, Jim Croce, Aretha Franklin
This vid is the reason i bought this amp. Great work Greg V and Adam Palow!
The tones and playing here are absolutely stellar. Very inspiring!
Really nice playing and that sound... just great!
I used to watch your videos going back a few years. Now I think I'm ready to steal some of your licks!
Ha-ha! Thanks for the good words Mark!
@@GregVorobiov you are welcome, however my favourite intro is the Matchless amp.
So well done
This is that "sound in my head." Absolutely fabulous playing and tone.
This is a great video! You're right, the tone of that amp is simply amazing.
Thanks everyone, glad you like the demo!
Total tone machine.. and a match made in heaven. Sounds amazing..!
Beautiful tone. Not usually a tweed fan, and this is a true exception. Great demo. Right to the point, and well played. Soul crushing guitar, too. :)
Fkn ROCK N ROLL!!! Sounds awesome, thanks for the demo!
Superb demo thanks.... the reason I bought a 5E3 to go with my 52 Blackguard!
Great demo.
Great playing.
Great tones, nice amp.
simply one of the best things I've ever seen on UA-cam..
thanks for the inspiration Greg.
great sound out of that tele/amp combo - excellent!!
wow this is the best demo ive seen on this amp! great job... and even better playing my friend!
Thank you!
Greg, this is the sound of rock and roll guitar, still sounds great!!! Cheers!
Thanks very much!
@@GregVorobiov I have a ‘60 5E3 and I just put a G12H Anniversary in it because you mentioned putting one in your Creama, thanks again! I come back to this video to clean my palette from time to time.....
@@mkii1964 So cool that you have such an iconic amp! Too cool!
Damn fine tone. Excellent sounding amp. You have a wonderful touch.
Best sounding tweed deluxe ive ever heard, just the right amount all a tweeds bad habits.
Just been watching this again Greg.
The best thing of course is how you turn those toneful notes into music.
That sounds incredible!
Incredible demo! thanks!
This is an amp demo video but it is loaded with so many marvellous riffs, great tone and skills.
Thank you kindly!
Great sounding amp. And great playing!
This has always been a great product video, referenced it for years, but it’s also especially just a testament to the substance of a 5e3. Truly a great amplifier. Excellent, timeless demo.
Thank you very much and glad you like the demo!
I DIG your guitar sound on your CD!!! Love your Nocaster! NICE guitar!
Damn. What a glorious tone.
Tough choice since they're both great amps and fun to play. The video demos showcase each amps tones much better than my words could ever describe.
Awesome playing and great Sounding Amp
Awesome playing and sound!
This is one of my favorite clip on UA-cam. Greg, your playing is marvelous. Also love your album on Apple Music, too!
agree. unreal demo.
Excellent demo of an awesome sounding amp! I so wish I'd gone with one of these when I was on my 5E3 hunt.
great and enormous DEMO, maybe the best of youtube. i am an amp , and sound guru, and you really show very well the amp and you play like god. thanks
Greg thank you so much for responding back to my comments! I put a lot of merit in all your comments relating to your take on the CREMA WHEAT w/G12H30 speaker and decided to go with CW/SPEAKER combination! You would be surprised if you knew just how many people had bought one of ADAM's CREMA WHEATS purely off what they heard in your DEMO's of this amp! I plan to get a ZOOM Q3 Recorder and do some quality clips with my CW soon! Thanks for inspiring us all to be better players!
Absolutely fantastic!!
Very very nice Greg!
I hope your neighbors are at work while you are playing so loud, it sounds wonderful, and I am strongly considering buying one of those kits. Thanks
Amazing playing!!! You bring that amp to the whole next level!
Appreciate it, thank you!
Hey Greg, it is such a pleasure when someone with your abilities demoes an amp. I wasn't too much into tweed amps but this is rock tone at its absolute best...cracking.
Right on, thank you Michael!
this sounds fantastic!
You are my new favorite person, thanks!
Nice amp, guitar and playing Greg! Keep up the good work. Cheers
Great playing and sick tone!
love it :)
Wow this thing sounds great
very cool amp.....fantastic chops!!
Great demo of the tweed amp. I have one myself (diffbrand) and it really is such a versatile amp. I love it.
hey gregv
great right hand technique.
truly your tone is in your fingers.
you can really see the joy that great tone
gives you at the 4:30 mark.
great demo and great playing.
peace,
rich
Holy F that amp sounds amazing, thats exactly the type of sound I'm looking for! Of course you being an incredible guitar player doesn't make it sound too bad either. Thanks for the review.
Thank you so much!
You sure found the sweet spot.....great amp.....nice playing
👍👆👌🦫🎸😎🇺🇸
Many thanks!
Great sound!!!!! Really great heart and soul sound from the amp and Tele :-)
Sounds nice!!
The amps natural distortion when pushed is awesome
Sounds Great!!!
Thanks very much! Never heard the King Of Tone. I use and love my Timmy and Zvex Box Of Rock and Resonant Electronics boost and fuzz. Each is inspiring for me.
Good work Greg. I need to try this amp out ASAP.
Love your playing.
billyzoom1 Many thanks!
Can’t wait to fire up my 5e3 up, picking it up tomorrow. Gonna get loud and can’t wait. It’s a lil Dawg and my first 5e3. This Tungsten sound incredible too!
Sick playing.
Cool sound!
Just the top shelf.
Sounds great. For anyone who can't afford to get a new amp I gotta say my way huge red llama through my deluxe reverb pretty much nails this sound at some settings, touch sensitivity and all.
Man, you've really got a sense of touch sensitive playing !!! \m/
I just got mine about a week ago and I feel very privileged to own such a beautiful amp: especially now that the guy that makes these things has decided he only wants to put 20 hours a week into continuing to build them. I feel like I just got in under the wire!
my new favorite person!
I could listen to you play guitar all day. I just cycle through amp reviews to listen to you. Back to learning my scales hoping to one day have a piece of your brilliance =D
4:25 - Greg's face..... yeah.. THAT'S IT. I've seem this vid about 50 times....even with my own Nocaster and 5e3 I love it. Thanks again @Greg Vorobiov
Hi Konrrass,
Each and every guitar is unique in it's tonal voice, including those of the exact same make/model. So many variables between bodys, necks, wood, moisture content, neck joints, finish etc.... That's part of the fun in searching for a great guitar, finding a unique guitar that speaks to you.
I don't know what's more impressive, this beautiful amp or your playing! Great stuff and way better than all these toneless shredmasters, REAL guitar playing that sounds like a human being rather than a robot!!
I like your playing style!
the tone of this 5E3...hot damn.
Every now and then I watch this vid. I have the 4th CW made. I was told Greg has #3. I have a few other top shelf amps and every time I plug back into this amp it's an eye opener. It's just such a solid sounding amp.
One thing is for certain though, I can't play like Greg!
All though one night I was playing what I believed was even better than GV's! Only to be woken by my girl poking me in the ribs, and begging me to stop playing air guitar in my sleep. Oh well, life goes on.
Greg, the intro, unreal
I built 2 of these in a month.. Cant get enough of the 5E3
Hi Vegasgrits,
Thank you! The Vic Double Deluxe is truly an amazing amp, massive sounding and plenty of headroom, plus the 2x12" speakers have a very wide dispersion and volume. The basic tonality for both amps is classic 5E3 all the way, chewy, greasy mids and power tube grind. Speakers are different and that makes a big difference in overall, feel, response and tonal color. Both are wicked cool amps, if you need even more volume and headroom the Vic Double Deluxe can't be beat.
And suddenly, the volume knob on a guitar starts to make sense. The sensitivity to the guitar input is incredible. No wonder Leo made Amps like the 5F1 with just one knob. One day, I'll have to build one.
Holyhell that sounds so damn good. Really great playing too. Way too much here to like.
brian patrick Thank you Brian!
Thanks! They are very, very close in gain.
Awesome dude.
@Ubered This clip has the Scumback speaker but soon after this video I've changed to a Celestion G12H30 and LOVE it! My Crema Wheat now has more defined and extended bass, thick lively mid-range and super musical treble and is louder with more clean headroom as well. It's my favorite speaker.
Groovy baby! Yeah!
