You’re the only person whose comment I’ve read that observed the scene correctly. The guard let his horse proceed. The horse wanted to advance. Not many people see clues for that they are. Watch again closely, the Horse decided to visit her. The guard allowed it at first and didn't make a move at all until he thought the horse was getting to close he tugged lightly on the reigns.

I also worked with the special needs popularion first as a Recreational Therapist in the Post Institutional Placement Program (PIPP), a transitional program for people who were former residents of institutions who were moved to supervised small group homes, and then as a volunteer coordinator at my local Special Olympics. In between those, I was a counselor at a summer day camp for the deaf and I began my 30 year career in the NYCDOE (the largest school system in the country); as a teacher of Special Education Grades K- 12 , and certified by the State of New York All in all, I have had over 25 years experience with the special needs population, and the comment you criticized was absolutely correct. Those involved in their care become very intuitive, and there is a great degree of trust and respect in their relationships. There are also communication skills developed, some more challenging than others.
Perhaps you might consider contacting your local Special Olympics and volunteering. They welcome the help, and it truly can be an experience you will treasure.

Horses can feel a person's heart and intent so much easier than we can. The horse was simply told, it was ok. They're amazing. And the Kinds Guard, man, that's just a beautiful gesture. These men already deserve the absolute highest respect from military and civilians alike. I'm American and view these Guards with the same respect I do a special US soldier. This whole scene is full of love and respect. Truly the single most beautiful vid I saw today.

The horse instinctively honoured her carer too.
My mother was even better than my grandfather. No matter what state of anxiety they were in, she would calm them in minutes. But then she had natural empathy for every sufferer. God blessed my parents for their kindness.
