This guy gets it, clear see why the success
Having been to the St Regis in Hanalei a few times previously, these “upgrades” look like they’ve put a veneer of “eco” on top of what was already there. That sand on the floor boards is hokey AF. Kaua’i is full of natural beauty, this just feels a little tacky.
It's the minor details like this that I look at when I pre vet hotels / resorts for my luxury portfolio for my agency.

Agreed. Stayed there when it the Princeville Resort and watched as the St. Regis and now 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay kill the Hawaiian vibes over the change in ownerships. This may be the reason, they are having trouble keeping it filled. This guy is too much into his own vision and must be pain to work for.
