Congratulations on the 1k I just ran across this I decided to watch. I appreciate y'all's energy so I subscribed. I'm a fan for just about a little over a year and I'm still learning about them. I know they respect all music and that I like. Always be true to you something I learned a long time ago from my big momma.
Yay, thank you and I’m so glad you like the song. I just want you to know that you don’t have to keep defending your stance and/or style of reacting. Most of us who watch reactors we just appreciate the genuine and honest reactions. The people who fail at this are those who don’t do it in a mature and respectful ways and try to humiliate the group or the song. I always appreciate when reactors break it down why they like it and why they don’t. You have to put some logic to your opinion. Now, there are those who will crucify reactors because they take it personal and always want everyone to like what they like and to me it’s not worth it to continue to defend yourself because those with narrow visions are not going to change anytime soon. Sure I myself have been disappointed when that happens but disappointment is different from crucifying and making threats. We army love BTS so much that we sometimes forget that not everyone will have the same appreciation as us and because BTS has gone through so much and still there are haters currently trying to bring down BTS that we are also very protective. Ironically, the most of the hate comes Koreans. There is nothing more delightful for some Koreans is to hate those who succeed. I can say that because I’m Korean American, born and raised in Korea. Thanks again for your reaction to Born Singer.
No problem at all and I have seen this more than I thought I would, it's weird to me how certain Koreans hate on us, when their fav are making content directed at (not always) us.
Noooo, THE SONG IS FOR YOU TOO. IT IS MEANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO PERSEVERE. CHECK OUT WEST COAST SOUND OF WAKE UP. ANDERSON PAAK PLAYING DRUMS IN THAT MINI CONCERT. BORN SINGER IS ONE SONG DURING THE PERFORMANCE.
Honestly, dad, you have me in tears. You will never let the people who love you down. The person who matters the most is you. I needed to hear you today and you made a difference in the way I'm viewing myself. I want to thank you for that.
BTS has this effect which is why they've been so big even before their English songs. Their English songs were just for fun to help people's moods through the pandemic, but the songs which they write themselves in Korean all really speak stuff. The line about the people they admired on TV being below them is both meanings - their childhood idols are both in the audience now and also they had people they looked up to in the past tell them that they couldn't make it, disrespected them.
Just stumbled across this and as one dad to another, I really got why that line of RMs about not letting people down hit your dad. Kids really bring that into focus. It's one of the fears we have - if we're any good anyway - that we won't be able to live up to what our kids expect and deserve. Just wanted y'all to know I felt that moment 😁
FYI, Cher introduced autotune. Ya’ll young. TPain can sang. He won the voice. Fooled us all. Magic Shop, Dear Army. Examples of other songs to us Army. Remember, BTS was created to provide motivation to the youth, but their messages have transcended age. Amiya: My Mom must to tell me to have confidence and if I don’t , then act like I do.
congrats for 1k! i'm happy you checked this song out, it's such an important song in their discography in my opinion and even tho it's originally from 2013, they were able to release it officially in 2022 on their "Proof" album. as others suggested, the guide by Taylor Mari would be an awesome watch, tho keep in mind it's from 2022, before they started their solo projects, still it's an amazing guide and worth watching. the "BTS paved the way, why is it so hard to accept it?" is also amazing and it contains a little bit of information about BTS' inspiration from black artists, but keep in mind it focuses more on the ways BTS opened the doors for kpop in the US and globally. but again, it's an awesome watch (the creator has many videos related to BTS that might interest you as you discover more about them). for some fun songs, maybe check out live performances for "So what", "Anpanman" (you might need some context for this song), "Ma city" (this song is about their hometowns/provinces so you might need to watch an explanation for it, the channel "A piece of korean culture" has a pretty good one). "Mic drop" and "Run BTS" live performances from their 2022 Busan concert are also awesome, but i'm not sure if there is one with english subs. if at some point you decide to also watch some funny videos, the channel "Sugarmyy" is the best, they give context when needed and the videos are usually very specific, so you would have an easier time understanding the clips. they also use animal emojis for each member, so you can distinguish their lines easier. i'm saying this just in case yall want to see more than just the music ahaha looking forward to more videos!!
This song was created by BTS right after debut (they debuted June 2013 and Born Singer was uploaded online July 2013) as a literal time capsule to how they were feeling at that time. It so emotional - for everyone, even some members crying when they performed it in 2015 (and also 2017 - I usually recommend people react to those performance 1st - if this gave you goosebumps, the earlier performances would be x100 of that). Some of the lyrics have been changed like some of RM's verse, but when they refer to time it's mostly that time period after debut or the 3 years they spent training. 💜
Until recently Korea counted age differently. When RM said 29, he’s actually 27. In Korea you were born at 1 yr and then in January you gain another yr, then once a year after that. Korea is an age hierarchical society and the language has it built in, so they address each other differently due to age. Very important. When they meet someone new, they have to ask age so they know how to address them. Super interesting. Ty!

It's never to late to be ARMY- BTS finds you at the time you need them. The lyrics in this video literally say- 'what is your dream'. When you talk about the things that come up as you read their lyrics- your memories and your insight to how the words relate to your own life now- that is the experience that is unique to BTS and this community. BTW- ARMY will be here for anything you want to do to get to know the boys and their music and their artistry. watch it once, twice, in reverse- lyric video, music video, live performance, dance practices- only thing ARMY love more than experiencing BTS is watching others authentically figure out how these men make them feel. good, bad, confused- we have been through it all ourselves when we found BTS. I'm a 51-year-old white woman in Alaska- never experienced anything like this. Also- they got some banger intense music... and they turn all their studio music into lit live jams. they sing live mostly with live bands- reminds me of the music i listened to in the 90's.
