Sounds like chara's warming up before the actual fight, or is getting tired after the fight. Alternatively, while listening to this music i could also see chara having a baking contest with Frisk instead of an actual fight. Either way, it's awesome!

may my headcanon conflict with yours, but...
Asriel once said Chara hated humanity, so I'm pretty sure that they would fight Frisk/Player who awakened them and take their soul if they refused to, and probably proceed with their plan (getting to the surface and killing humans, even if all monsters they considered family once, were dead, all of that LOVE was means to an end).
