Is it possible to draw the velocity vs time curve of a body having 2 dimensional motion without breaking it into components??

This is the question that led me here. Still hoping to find an answer somewhere.

That's good way to explain how objects move after we take them out of our hands :0

The velocity diagram of the x component of a downward throw is incorrect. It should be overlayed with the upward throw, not with the horizontal throw .

Good catch. That's the same thing I thought

I know it is a pretty old comment but nonetheless, I disagree. It seems that the x component's magnitudes of both the downward throw and the horizontal throw are about the same so I think that the horizontal velocity diagram is correct.

The yellow have to throw with more power(length of the arrow) than blue for its x velocity to be the same as the blue one.

If treating acceleration in accordance to the velocity direction(not just speaking that it would be negative downwards and positive upwards) then the acceleration will be positive after it reaches the topmost height of the projectile because after that the velocity would be in the same direction as the acceleration and in the "throwing downwards" projectile, it would be positive from the very beginning as the ball is initially thrown downwards (in which the g is in).
