Horseback Riding in Teton Mountains Jackson Hole Wyoming. Part 2 of the amazing horseback ride I’ve ever been on coming your way. We are just outside of Yellowstone National Park and near the Grand Teton National Park. The Heart Six Ranch is one of the oldest dude ranches in America. It’s a great way to get away and experience the beauty of nature first hand on horseback. They have over a hundred horses that each have an amazing personality. Every day they’re turned loose into a very large section of the ranch to roam free like they did hundreds of years ago. From this segment, we were able to film the cowboys, and these are real cowboys from all parts of the United States, that work at the Heart Six Ranch. On horseback they ride at full speed from main headquarters down to the pasture below with the amazing S shaped river accenting the landscape to bring the horses back to camp. And it is a fantastic experience to watch this spectacle. To see a hundred horses running all together working their way from lower valley up to the main camp is breathtaking. They don’t have any gear on them, no saddles, no bridles. The majesty of the outdoors is truly in your face. Here they come and you better get out of the way. They’re ready for breakfast at the camp.
In this episode we had a chance to stay in a primitive cabin with no electricity and no water. As it began to get dark, one of the ranch hands came down to light the fire in the courtyard of our cabin. We sat around the fire, listened to music from our bluetooth speakers we bought, and watched the stars in the sky. It was a night I’ll never forget. The beauty was awe inspiring and Frank told us that not too many days back, a young cat was taken by a grizzly bear. Right there near their camp. So as we sat there around the fire hearing the coyotes howling in the distance, it made me realize we are in the Wide Open Outdoors. We had small battery powered lights in the cabin and I made sure all the windows and doors were locked securely as we retired for the night knowing grizzly bears could be lurking around the camp.
