A Lesson from the Bible on the Last Beatitude, Blessed Are The Persecuted

🌏Bethy offers a lesson for kids on the last beatitude from Matthew 5:10-12, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Don't forget to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world and for the people who are doing the persecuting as well.

3) Why do some people not like it when Christians live like Christians?
4) Why does Jesus make some people who don't follow Him very uncomfortable or even angry?

6) Who will you pray for this week?

Materials:
-Your Bible bookmarked to Matthew 5:10-12.
-The Book of the Martyrs Magazine. You can subscribe for free at www.persecutio...
Directions:
-Explain persecution and persecution for righteousness sake.
-Read Matthew 5:10-12.
-Ask the kids about what persecution looks like in their life? Have you ever been treated badly because of your belief in Jesus?
-Give examples of things that are happening today around the world where the church is being persecuted. Be careful not to get to detailed about disturbing truths.
-Ask the questions from the lesson and get your class to engage by responding to what they learned. Particularly, that they would be able to apply these truths to their lives.
-Pray for the persecuted church and for those who are doing the persecuting.
All Scriptures were taken out to the ESV (English Standard Version) of the Bible.
