No, the principle of Latae sententiae excommunication goes back before the Council of Rome in 1079. The other conclusion you could have reached was that this original statement from the Pope was just nonsense. You can indeed exclude yourself by your actions. Unfortunately the Pope is well known for his imprecise use of language, and his "feeling before thought" approach to theology.
How can a validly consecrated bishop be re-consecrated? A priest cannot be re-ordained. You can’t receive baptism twice. So how and why would Vigano want this act? Any responses? Ive never seen that mentioned anywhere before of a re-consecration
If he denies Vatican II, he must consider he hasn’t been validly consecrated bishop (and priest??) as the liturgy on his consacration was (for him) “not valid”. 🤷🏻♂️
In the church there are valid ordinations and illicit ordinations. Even though an ordination or consecration may be illicit (that is illegal in church law), it is still valid.
If anyone bothers to investigate Vigano, he has an agenda of his own at play. As difficult as it is to believe, he has for many years gone out of his way to disobey the vows he made therefore, one must ask why? By disobeying the Pope, defaming him whether one, agrees or disagrees with the Pope, Vigano has set up a way to become head of his own Church. He obviously has a grip with Vatican City and in 2023 started his own seminary, ordaining priests (to be verified) By not showing up in Rome to discuss issues at hand, his excommunication was automatic. that's exactly what he desired in order to begin his own venture, playing the victim and dragging people along with him. His agenda is plain to see as is his vendetta otherwise, he would have gone to Rome, being civil and saving his position within the Church, he is a cunning human being and people have fallen for his game playing. When all said and done, he did not expose anything the world, at large did not know, unless one was living under a rock. .... " "Vigano has also grown close to traditionalist Catholicism, rejecting the Second Vatican Council and the Mass of Paul VI; in December 2023, he announced plans to establish a traditionalist seminary outside of the Church's jurisdiction.[4][5] In 2024, he was charged with schism, and after refusing to appear at a trial, excommunicated." (Extract from from Wikipedia). YOU DECIDE.
Vigano had the guts to expose the truth. I hope that he will depart from every apostate belief he has ever been taught. Anyway, Francis is more of a politician than a priest unto God.
Well put. He was right in his criticism and right to call out the many dubia that had been issued, expressing concerns that the Pope (and yes, he is the Pope) is ideologically captured and trying to promote things that are contrary to revealed dogma and Sacred Tradition. The schism however is incorrect, and this decision is the correct one, in that he excommunicated himself.
He was the first high ranking priest I saw naming names of people at the top and what they were involved in. Is it just a coincidence he's been excumenicated?
Pope Francis has come out and said, if this channel is correct about his political views, that the win by Macron is to his liking then this could be part of the schism between the Roman Church and Vigano. The Church is as divided as society is.
The schism was a step too far and was inexcusable, but he was bang on correct with his accusations before that point, and unfortunately the schism has drawn attention away from the still outstanding issues to do with promotion of homosexual lifestyles and socialism, both of which have been condemned by either Revelation, Sacred Scripture or Sacred Tradition. The protection of the likes of Theodore McCarrick, and even this year protecting Cdl Ricard, despite him declaring in 2019 that he would "bring them all to justice". The dubias remain. The open questions on how many others he is protecting remain. That doesn't mean he isn't the pope ... he is. He's just one of the worst of our age.

Vigano excommunicated himself. Don't you pay attention to what he himself wrote? He is proud to be excommunicated -- using almost the same words as Martin Luther did.
The only problem I see with the Holy Father excommunicating Vigano is that he should have done it many years ago. It took far too long, and Vigano hurt the church in ways that we cannot recover. Had he been punished harshly after that foolishness with that crazy Kentucky Clerk of Court (something that the Pope should never have been duped into being a part of), our church would not be as badly broken as it is now. Vigano gave the voice to the crazies that they wanted, and it has hurt all of us. He should never be allowed to come back into the faith. It is too bad they don’t laicize those clergy who are excommunicated--he should have been defrocked.
Most catholics don't know who Vigano is. Ur completely ott writing "Vigano hurt the church in ways that we cannot recover" Vigano didn't write and promulgate Amoris letitiae and place the Argentinian bishops' interpretation into formal recognition years later. Vigano didn't advance the homosexual agenda in the Church and publicise and strongly back Fr Martin. Vigano didn't do a “re-foundation” of the John Paul II Institute on Marriage and Family, undermining the Church’s consistent teaching on moral and sacramental absolutes and destroying the institute as previously understood firing most of the academic staff. Vigano didn't directly contradict Our Lord's words in the Abu Dhabi Statement. Vigano didn't run an Amazon Synod and didn't have idolatrous Pachamama statues in St Peter's. Vigano didn't have huge swathes of Bishop Conferences across the world rejecting Fiducia supplicans including offending Orthodox Christianity to the point that formal ecumenical discussions to heal the Great Schism have broken down. That was all Pope Francis. One of the worst of all time.
I would imagine that the Dicastery for the Faith will be planning such a defrocking from the clerical state in the near future. Vigano could end up like the rest of the Pius X bishops.
John 3:14 KJV "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the SON OF MAN (CHRIST) be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For GOD sent not HIS SON into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through HIM might be saved. 18 He that believes on HIM is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the NAME of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD."Note: A true Christian is not condemned but has everlasting life therefore if you do not know where you will immediately go when you die then you deny what CHRIST said therefore you deny CHRIST.
Let’s examine the public record of Archbishop Vigano relative to the actions of Pope Francis: Accusation #1 by Archbishop Vigano [abbr.=AV]: The so-called “church” of Bergoglio does not hesitate to close churches, arrogating to itself the wicked right to deny God public worship and to deprive the faithful of the grace of the Sacraments through a wretched connivance with civil power. AV, to begin with, refuses to recognize that "Bergoglio" [the pope's family name] has been legitimately elected by the College of Cardinals. His official title is "Pope Francis." AV, consequently, is disrespectful and arrogant in not recognizing the office that he holds in the RCC. #2 AV accuses Pope Francis of "deny[ing] God public worship" and of "depriv[ing] the faithful of the grace of the Sacraments." What AV fails to tell us is that Pope Francis has, after due consultation, closed the churches of Vatican City temporarily in order to prevent further transmission of the coronavirus. Hence, there is neither "arrogance" or "wickedness" involved. On the contrary, it would be "wicked" and "irresponsible" NOT to take prudent measures to safeguard human lives. We are living in the time of a pandemic-a fact that AV wants to avoid. For more details, see www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-italy-rome-churche/rome-catholic-churches-ordered-closed-due-to-coronavirus-unprecedented-in-modern-times-idUSKBN20Z3BU Accusation #3 by AV: Pope Francis "tampers with the sublime and inviolable words of the Prayer which the Lord Himself taught us." AV fails to note that the "sublime and inviolable words" are written in Greek and that the New Testament has two very distinctive versions of the Lord's Prayer. The contemporary Our Father comes from a translation of the longer Greek version found in Matt 6:9-13. #4 AV also fails to tell us that the Church, as a faithful interpreter and transmitter of Christ, needs to create suitable translations into modern languages (e.g. Italian) in order to enable the faithful to pray in words they understand and in words that do not give them wrong ideas. Here are the facts of the case: Pope Francis has risked the wrath of traditionalists by approving a change to the wording of the Lord's Prayer. Instead of saying “lead us not into temptation”, it will say “do not let us fall into temptation”. The new wording was approved by the general assembly of the Episcopal Conference of Italy last month [Jun 6, 2019]. The new wording, it has to be assumed, is in modern Italian, and the changes apply only to the churches of Italy. Pope Francis, in collaboration with biblical and linguistic experts, changed the phrase "lead us not into temptation" to "do not let us fall into temptation," as mentioned in the gospel of Matthew 6:13, because the original translation implies that God induces temptation. The change, officials said, is closer to the original intent of the prayer. All in all, Archbishop Vigano shows himself to be incapable of fairly interpreting Pope Francis. Judging from just these four accusations, the reader can see that Archbishop Vigano clearly has no sympathy for Pope Francis and his prejudice leads him to make judgments that are neither accurate nor just. Great caution, therefore, should be taken by those who depend upon Archbishop Vigano to guide them in these matters. Be prudent. Be watchful. Make an investigation yourself. Don't be caught up in a scheme where "the blind are leading the blind." Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, pray for us, Prof. Aaron Milavec P.S.: At the Last Supper, Jesus said, "Take and eat. . . ." This implies that Jesus handed his disciples the Eucharist. They took it and ate (they chewed it). According to AV, he imagines that Jesus said, "Take this on your tongues while you are kneeling and let the Eucharist dissolve on your tongue without biting it. . . ." AV and his allies say: "The body of Jesus can only be received on the tongue and only from the consecrated hand of a priest. Amen." Such persons know nothing of the history of the Church. They imagine that the rubrics of their youth go all the way back to Jesus. What a mistake! It saddens me that an archbishop of my Church would peddle such nonsense. Receiving communion in the hand was the common practice of the Church in both East and West for the first 800 years of Christianity, and it was certainly considered reverent by the Fathers. In North Africa (including Egypt) the practice is mentioned by Tertullian,[1] Cyprian,[2] Augustine,[3] Cyril of Alexandria,[4] and John Climacus.[5] In Jerusalem, we have the mystagogical catecheses of Cyril of Jerusalem (or perhaps of his successor, John).[6] In Syria (what we now call Turkey and surrounding regions) it is witnessed by Basil the Great,[7] John Chrysostom,[8] Theodore of Mopsuestia,[9] John Damascene[10] and the Council of Constantinople in Trullo (also called the Quinisext council).[11] In East Syria (what we would now call the Middle East) we have evidence from Ephrem the Syrian[12] and Narsai.[13] In the far-flung regions of the empire-Gaul (modern-day France and Spain) we have the witness of Caesarius of Arles[14] and the council of Auxerre,[15] and in England, we have the Venerable Bede.[16] Liturgical evidence from Rome is always sparser than one would like, but Eusebius preserves a mention of communion in the hand in a letter written from Dionysius of Alexandria to Sixtus I, bishop of Rome,[17] and in a letter of Cornelius, bishop of Rome.[18] URL=

Wow. Couldn't Vigano have discussed this with Pope Francis in private, like loving family and brothers do? Grand standing doesn't work, or win.
@thefashiongoddesschannel8099 Vigano has a grip against Vatican City and in particular the Pope. By Vigano not appearing in Rome he acted like a rebellious child therefore, consequences apply. Vigano may have wanted to exit the Catholic Church, this action was the perfect scenario for him. Why isn't Vigano interviewed?
We are praying for Archbishop Vigano as we pray for the Church, both as hierarchy and as the flock of followers of Jesus Christ.
Please obey PP Francis on this matter that Vigino is in fact NOT excluded from the Church.
“No one can exclude themselves from the Church, we are all saved sinners...those who have denied the faith, who are apostates, who are the persecutors of the Church, who have denied their baptism: Are these also at home?...Yes, these too. All of them. The blasphemers, all of them. We are brothers. This is the communion of saints.

If Viganò really got re-consecrated by Williamson is he part of the SSPX Resistance?
What are the odds he defects from that as well?
Why so long till Vigano formal excommunication? Maybe studying if the reason for his positions could be a mental issue?
Technically he was latae sententiae excommunicated from the moment he denied the papacy.
@@anthonyhulse1248 I am answering the question "why IT took so long?" that has been asked in the video. IT = the FORMAL excommunication. There are MANY (self)excommunicated latae sententiae (just read some comments on Viganos excommunication). But being declared as excommunicated by magisterium means being officially clarified that certain beliefs divide You from the catholic church no matter if You call Yourself catholic or not. And it is important that Vaticans in very public cases does so, otherwise many people might follow schismatic leaders or opinion makers into schism.

Vigano excommunicated himself. Don't you pay attention to what he himself wrote? He is proud to be excommunicated -- using almost the same words as Martin Luther did.
Nutcase
Ur completely ott writing "Vigano hurt the church in ways that we cannot recover"
Vigano didn't write and promulgate Amoris letitiae and place the Argentinian bishops' interpretation into formal recognition years later.
@@Jimboken1 Brilliantly said.
I would imagine that the Dicastery for the Faith will be planning such a defrocking from the clerical state in the near future. Vigano could end up like the rest of the Pius X bishops.

Let’s examine the public record of Archbishop Vigano relative to the actions of Pope Francis:
Accusation #1 by Archbishop Vigano [abbr.=AV]: The so-called “church” of Bergoglio does not hesitate to close churches, arrogating to itself the wicked right to deny God public worship and to deprive the faithful of the grace of the Sacraments through a wretched connivance with civil power.
For more details, see www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-italy-rome-churche/rome-catholic-churches-ordered-closed-due-to-coronavirus-unprecedented-in-modern-times-idUSKBN20Z3BU
Accusation #3 by AV: Pope Francis "tampers with the sublime and inviolable words of the Prayer which the Lord Himself taught us." AV fails to note that the "sublime and inviolable words" are written in Greek and that the New Testament has two very distinctive versions of the Lord's Prayer.
Here are the facts of the case:
Pope Francis has risked the wrath of traditionalists by approving a change to the wording of the Lord's Prayer.
Don't be caught up in a scheme where "the blind are leading the blind."
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, pray for us,
Prof. Aaron Milavec
P.S.: At the Last Supper, Jesus said, "Take and eat. . . ." This implies that Jesus handed his disciples the Eucharist. They took it and ate (they chewed it). According to AV, he imagines that Jesus said, "Take this on your tongues while you are kneeling and let the Eucharist dissolve on your tongue without biting it. . . ."
AV and his allies say: "The body of Jesus can only be received on the tongue and only from the consecrated hand of a priest.

So Popeye didn't make Vigano walk the plank, he jumped ship himself, much like God doesn't send people to Hell, they go of their own choice; like father's don't deny their children the freedom to walk out the house and into a busy road and get run over, they leave doors and garden gates open and fairly warn them not to go intp the road.

You got it right, Pope Francis is scattering the church.
Just making publicly und understandable for those, who don’t have a theological education, what already happened already: Vigano has broken away from the church and its teaching. Very clear and I am VERY happy that Vatican did it, because - as I read in these comments - there are people who don’t understand that.
It is very difficult for an American to understand what is a democracy (just check out the rating of USA on the democracy index) but it is not just free election. Populism is not the peak of a democracy but an abyss of it (as history showed repeatedly).
The fact a priest a criticizing pope for his mismanagement (i.g. cover ups or whatever) is and was not a problem AT ALL. The problem starts in the second when such priest says pope is not pope, this church teaching is in its substance formally heretical (“Vat II is not a valid council” and - especially it’s sacramental theological - ordo sacrament - is not valid). If a priest claims that publicly (or makes acts the implicates that position - for example let himself ordinate again “sub conditione”) he simply declares he is not part of this church. Magisterium only explains it (for those, who have not the theological competence) by declaring what already happened. And it is their job. Thanks God they do it.

@@EdSilvia1 dear brother. According to CATHOLIC theology, faith is a grace. Grace can be received only by free will. EVERY moral act presupposes free decision. if people go to church or fulfill some religious acts (prayer etc.) BECAUSE they have to (forced by state law) makes God about as happy, as You would be happy, if You know that Your wife is with You, not because it is her choice and she wants to be with You, but because she has to. From his disparagement of Viganò (the man who revealed Francis’s rehabilitation of McCarrick), to his snark against Catholic “influencers” (pot, kettle?), to his absurd statement that Francis somehow embodies anstrand of Cathikic tradition (maybe the tradition of protecting and promoting perverts?), he really shows his true colours and throws any pretence of unbiased journalism to the winds.

Sadly, Mr. Allen appears to be determined to destroy his credibility week by week.
As an apostate, Francis has excommunicated himself.
Let me get this straight, you're trying to get people to believe that the Bishop of Rome isn't in communion with the Bishop of Rome? Is that right? Because being excommunicated means that you aren't in communion with the Pope. By definition, the Pope is always in communion with himself.
