That carbon fiber looks really clean, it got me thinking about making a carbon fiber river... Could be cool, I may try it one of these days. Thanks for sharing!
i guess Im asking randomly but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Tommy Samson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
This is a fantastic tutorial! Thank you! I noticed you didn't have a respirator while mixing and pouring the epoxy. Those fumes are gnarly for the lungs.
Using vacuum compression will flatten the fiber tows more, and give the cured cloth surface a different (and likely improved) look, due to the increased faceted reflection effect. It's also good to seal the entire MDF surface (top, bottom, sides) to prevent moisture from being absorbed, else the panel can warp over time. Looks like you did that with the black paint. Regardless, great work! No need to go all aerospace on a table :)
Is there any smell when you work with the epoxy? you do not use any protection when you apply it on the surface? Is it because there are no fumes, or you are used to it?
that's a keeper for sure! I heard someone talking about doing this on her existing kitchen table -- she complained about glass rings being left after dinner. Did she not allow for enough drying time or is this normal? thinking maybe her mix wasn't correct? Does this table standup to normal use?
It’s possible that was the issue. With so many brands on the market, not all of them are quality, and some of them are kind of soft and will leave rings or scratch easier even when mixed very well.
@@ronniebarber6548 So u've used other brands and settled on wise bond as the best? This table shows great results. I'm a 65yo retiree looking to keep busy and maybe make a few bucks so don't want to start w/inferior products. Appreciate u getting back to me, TY
Hey brother realy like the content. Im in the middle of building a river table style bar countertop for my restaurant. What are your thoughts about wisebond epoxy to date? I could really use some tips on what to avoid. Thanks
Have you ever applied the carbon fiber cloth to both sides? The reason i ask is i'm a guitar builder, and i would like to apply the cloth and epoxy to a guitar body, but i only see people adding it to one side / or the top side of a table....any thoughts?
@@ronniebarber6548 Thanks Ronnie. I figured it would be a bit problematic, but since you are familiar with the materials, and worked with it quite a bit (certainly much more than me) i was interested in your opinion and input. Thanks again. Love your channel. Cheers
You can, but you would be best wrapping the entire thing at on time. Once your first layer of epoxy was set, you would cut out any excess(at butt joints in the carbon fiber, etc) and then proceed with your following coats as shown. I would suggest an anti UV clear coat/finish to help prevent yellowing
@@CyberSolutionsWithJared Than you for that advice. The only aspect of the operation I can't figure how to get around is the "seam" where the two halves meet. I don't want there to be a "line" where the top and bottom halves or "sides" meet along the edge of the guitar, but I don't see a way of getting around it...
Nice job, looks beautiful!! I just have some quick questions, what kind of wood did you use or what material? And does it have to be black before you place the carbonfiver on it?
It’s funny all the preparation I used to do to do clearcoat some things and now people clearcoat stuff with the skill of a person putting sauce on a pizza
I do appreciate your hard work ethic. And the video of showing us how to lay carbon fiber on something, using epoxy. Okay I will bite. What the heck is the carbon fiber over mdf suppose to represent? The CF is strong enough to make a table without mdf! Using cheap MDF and then very expensive cloth to cover it is oxymoronic. I'm just not getting why people are covering mdf with Carbon Fiber. Is it for the pattern or looks? Because you can do this with the printed vinyl for a fraction and you still have the MDF table top or whatever, for $8 bucks instead of $280.00 dollars and 16 hours in labor cost. Am I missing something? Is this suppose to be cool because people are just now experimenting with CF? Or is it really something about being able to do something exciting with MDF??? Carbon Fiber has been out for 65 years. Wait...What was the point? Oh. Well if I could actually make one of these and sell it for $500, I'd probably be a bit more interested. I know of no one wanting a carbon fiber coated mdf table top. I would like to see you use the Carbon Fiber to construct a table top without any use of mdf. Okay it is a nice looking table. Please get it out of the sunlight. LOL
The good news is I sell them for $600 so I guess you’d be interested. 👍 As far as who wants them and why? I don’t dictate what people want to buy, but I’ll certainly accommodate for whatever they want. I have one in my garage personally, it matches the carbon fiber hood on the race car. 🤷🏻♂️
Beautiful Job, had no idea what you were doing until I seen a few layers of epoxy go on then I figured it out, Also nice easy way to attach the legs.
I enjoyed watching you create a gorgeous table and the black metal legs compliments your table.

100% solids epoxy, no voc.
That's a huge guitar you are making there.
What would a person do that would require one sheet of carbon fiber?
Hey Ronnie, do you have any advice for beginners for hydro dipping
Ronnie, where can I get cloth 3ft x 7ft. I prefer colored cloth.
Probably a good use for black twill fiberglass.
How well has it reacted to the sunlight? Was there any yellowing since this video?
I don’t keep it in the sun.
But if I did, I’d use a polyaspartic coating to stop the yellowing from the uv light.
This came out nice.. Wonder how this would work on the roof of my car.
Not well at all.
This is for indoor use.
You’d want an actual carbon fiber hood.
i have to wonder if perhaps you got this idea from stone coat counter tops videos here on youtube
I absolutely got the idea from them. I love the channel.
Looks awesome! But why didn’t you need to use a vacuum bag for this process?
T J just a new way I found to do it.
What's the approximate depth of this once done?
Less then 1/4 of epoxy. It made it about an inch thick.
Is there any smell when you work with the epoxy? you do not use any protection when you apply it on the surface? Is it because there are no fumes, or you are used to it?
No smell with the epoxy I use.
Awesome job... 👏🏻👏🏻
Nice and shiny now you can see how all your carbon fiber strands were unevenly stressed
i love it!!!! Great job!

Can you do this on Carbon fiber vinyl wrap with the expoxy . If so , are there any major difference in looks ?
Eric Kempis you could use a vinyl wrap.
If you are good, you wouldn’t see a huge difference.
That's called carbon "fibber"!
The blue/black carbon cloth looks (and grinds!) like carbon/kevlar. Is that what you used?
Yes it is.
where can we get the carbon fiber cloth?
how durable is this. can you put a coating of poly over to make it even harder?
You could add a water based urethane, like stonecoatcountertops brand ultimate top coat.
Looks awesome!!!
How come you didn't chop the epoxy
Can u tell me what fabric u use exactly and how much u use please
It’s only one layer.
I use a company called composite envisions.

How much for the table Ronnie? Just courious what it would go for.
This particular style is $600 shipped within the United States.
