It is now 1:19 AM March 18. I am going to watch your videos all night long. I am waiting for my egg. It should get here from now until the First of April. I can’t wait. The egg makes a much bigger cord than any I have seen over here. I have lots of things I can make with it. I am almost 80, and over here we have the corona virus and they were just saying all of us seniors that are my age need to stay in the house for 14 days . That’s ok by me. I now have all these things I can try on my king and pro. lol from the US .leota
Brilliant vid, very helpful, am a newbie and tried putting a folded up way to make a brim but didn’t like it at all and ripped all aback, found doing the double sided ones a lot better, but wanted to put hand knitted rib on the bottom and adding it to my addie machine and i found you , so going to have a go now, Thankyou so much, you explained it brilliantly, x

I made mittens on my 24-peg round loom but did not like the way the ribbing looked when I finished them. I did not know how I was going to begin the hat since it started the same way as the mittens, I did not want that same look on my hat. You just gave me the answer I was looking for! Thank you again! I can start making my hat now.
Hello, I've finished two hats on the Addi King for my two girls. Do you have a suggestion for making a hat for my husband (with a bigger head. I use all the posts and # 4 yarn but it doesn't seem to "expand" enough to fit an adult head around the forehead. Thanks,
Suzanne Grummell The Addis on their own don't seem to make a hat big enough for a man's head. What I did was to cast on 92 stitches onto 5mm needles and work in a k2 p2 rib for a few rows. That was a good size needle for the fabric but I needed to be able to get it on the Addi, so I then knitted 2 stitches together onto a 6mm needle for one row. That gave me the right amount of stitches for the Addi plus the right size of stitch to loop over. I hope this helps :)

CHICHISWEETS Hi Chichisweets I used Red Heart Super Saver which is a category 4 worsted weight for this project. I firstly used my Addi 5mm circular needle to cast on 92 stitches and worked in a k2 p2 rib. In readiness for putting it on the addi, I increased needle size to 6mm using my Knit Pros though I can’t recall the exact size cord, I’m guessing it was 24” or 32”. I worked the stitches from the 5mm needle to the 6mm needle by knitting 2 together to give be 46 stitches for the Addi machine. I don’t see why it couldn’t be done with a flat panel but if you wanted it joined, it would only join at the Addi part not from the very beginning of the project. Unless you just want a flat panel continued on the Addi machine then I don’t see why it can’t be done :)
camcab147 THANK YOU! Great, just to be safe I'll transfer to a 32". RIGHT NOW, I'm fumbling around and trying to find ways to create a size 4T poncho on the Addi. I do prefer the look of ponchos with finished edges like knitted ribbing or crochet.
How did you do 2x2 ribbing when there are only 46 needles on the addi? Wouldn't that make the rib pattern messed up and end with 4 knit stitches all together, instead of the rib stitch?

It's called a loom pick, Sharon. I got mine with a plastic peg loom set I bought last year. I believe the loom picks can be bought individually as well.

Nice to have an alternative method to knitting the brim on afterwards which means that the cast off edge can be a bit tight around the face.
I noted the same doing that Jan. Mine was so rigid and no room for moving. It just totally contradicted everything I knew about ribs
This makes so much sense. It's a bit of a slow process, but at least you don't have to use waste yarn and knit in the opposite direction.
