Why in the world did they think “ah yes, we need a short video in the style of an ad from a scuffed chinese mobile game”. Atlus “west” never fails to make me die of cringe.
I don’t think this format much less the jokey goofy nature will sell the game. Now the gameplay showing how gravity is reversed will. Trust gameplay and quality of the product not dumb humor. Japan knows how to sell a game.

I find this style of marketing to be really cringe and just not fitting for what is meant to be a serious, M-rated game about fighting for one’s ideology. If this game was silly and ironic, I would be perfectly content with this more goofy, TikTok style of marketing they seem to be going for. But… this ain’t it, ya know? If anything, it makes me embarrassed to be excited for this definitive version of the game. I’ve been reading the comments for all the short ads so far, and it’s nice that a handful of people are enjoying this marketing direction, but for me and a lot of others, this just makes us question what’s going on behind the scenes and what it means for the game when it releases. So I wanted to express my disdain for the ad in a really over-the-top and exaggerated fashion because it’s difficult for me to be blunt a lot of times, even under the anonymity of the internet.

Look at the past few videos. They're marketing it in every way. A standard dramatic trailer, interviews, and then more jokey stuff like this to hit the algorithm. These little videos take no time to do and cost basically nothing, but they keep you thinking about SMTV, and that's the point.
It's like they're trying to recapture that X-Play Nocturne political ad skit, but that kind of thing only works once. Honestly, this whole trend of hiring clout-chasing fans to work at your company is somehow even more disgusting to me than hiring people who don't know anything about the series at all. It's like a _They Live_ scenario, where everyone thinks you're crazy for opposing it, until they too catch a glimpse of them unmasked.
Yeah but that's not Naruto's property... Most ninja, samurai, fast characters in general in japanese fiction run that way. Arale, Lucario, reapers in Bleach, other ninjas... Now that I give it a thought, SMT V protagonist is fused with a japanese God related to ninjas.
