Wow, this song really kicks ass! It ranks up there with the Beatles and Rolling Stones. All that talent and the Easybeats were barely known in the U.S. A very highly underrated rock group.
I wish more of their songs besides “ Friday on my mind “ had charted in the US. Hearing “ Good time” led me on a search for more and now the algorithm gods are delivering more gems every day.😎✌🏽☮️🎸
@@balloonfarm5903 The trouble was that they were released in America on the UA label not one known to be partial to rock n roll. They were poorly promoted to say the least but they were huge in Australia, Holland, Germany, Japan and many other European countries. The drummer Snowy Fleet retired in 1967 I think it was to go into the building industry.
@gwugluud Check out Stevie Wright as a solo artist at the Sydney Opera House. The song is called Evie parts 1, 2 and 3. Personally I think it's one of the best things he ever did. Enjoy! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
The Easybeats are incredible. Love them. Just before Covid I was at a club that had an Easybeats cover band and Easybeats songs are fantastic for dancing to, but no cover band has that energy of the originals.
I liked Easybeats too for some of their stuff, but they mostly played in smaller venues and AC/DC played stadiums and certainly lasted a lot longer as a top act
@@HamiltonRb No shit the Easybeats broke up in 69, AC/DC stayed and got big, the Easybeats didn't want to be huge, they went on to do other brilliant things.
Cool footage... Love beat music ,garage, punk , blues , surf ,rockabilly ,jump blues, psychedelic, pub rock... people for the most part have crappy tastes in music .. friggin sheep ..theyll never know the cool stuff...
Easybeats sort of had the British Invasion sound, but with a harder edge, particularly the early Wright/Young songs like this one, Sorry, Wedding Ring etc. you won’t hear anything this hard-edged from Gerry and the Pacemakers or Dave Clarke Five! The Vanda/Young era was more sophisticated but also more pop-style for the Easybeats.
..........The Seekers were the darling band of the Brits . Then came the Bee Gees also from Australia who were also a more mellow music group and soon adopted back into the British fold as repatriated Brits. It looks like at that time that rock n roll was still mainly uncouth in Britain for the many . I was influenced by the uncouth stigma too as a young teen, the only decent music was of course classical . Gotta say I was impressed with the Bee Gees , they would often be in the smoking room of the ship in the evenings listening to classical music that was available for us passenger's if we wished . my understanding is that the Easybeats arrived in Britain about five months after the Bee Gees , but they might also have been there earlier occasion too . The British expedition was the downfall of the band. Their Australian material was mercurial and equal to most anything else being put out by the rest of the world.
67-year old Canadian here... First time I'm hearing The Easy Beats. Love it!

I grew up watching this fabulous music of the Easybeats. People do not realise how big this band was here in Australia! Fabulous musicians.

To those of us in USA they seem a "one hit wonder", so I'm happy to learn they did make it big; happy for them and they well deserve it!

As good as any song today and any group.

You must remember Stevie was only 17 when this song was recorded.
Your point?
Wow! I have had some nonsensical replies but this one takes the cake.@@Skedawg88
Sweet little band, love them, thanks💜
The wonderful Easybeats
He ruled the stage and we loved him
I love this song and my dad was a big fan of the Easy Beats .
I like how Stevie tells the camera to come closer at 2:06 man he was a cool dude on stage
He just owned the stage at all venues
Aussie Legends ! THE Great Days 60s !
Why is this so underrated? 130
likes.
seriously?
Hows Steve's fabulous leg movements, iconic everyone was doing it here in Australia in those days,
2021 and still loving this
wawww, what a strong voice, and really good music, I like very much such kind of rock music
Best Aussie band of all time
Indeed.
no easybeats no ac/dc
@@BeatlesBootlegs9 AC/DC were a good band but they were better when Bon Scott was there Front man.

had a beer with them backstage at the Palais Theatre, Albury 1965.......great guys....
Wow that's cool, that's where my great grandma lived until she sadly past in 2019. Easybeats were brilliant.
@@yowodup6094 I lived in Albury in 1964/65 and again in 1974/78

Mike P they had more raw energy than the stones, and I’ll stand with that till I die, even if I love the stones
That's why they called it the lucky country
That’s the genius of George Young.

If my memory is right I think Mick Jagger said the EBs were a better band then the Stones 👍😃
GO THE EASYBEATS 🎤🎼🎸❤
Flat out GOOD
That 60s two backup-vocalists sharing one mic "breathalyzer pose" looks BOSS as SHIT. 😱😃👍🥰
EasyBeats were the best in the 60s and ACDC ( Bon Scott)were the Greatest in the 70s
And the Young brothers were in both bands - George in the Easybeats, Angus and Malcolm in AC/DC
Quality 👌
total gentlemen
The lads in good form.......
From the Coca-Cola special, I see. Does anybody have the whole recording? Thanks mate!

Guess every country had its version of the Beatles. Even Down Under. They’re good.
Even Down Under? What the hell does that mean?
Not the Beatles in the slightest. They are The Easybeats.
They were down under

When you realize Howard Wolowitz officiated as a lead singer in a rock band, back in the 60's...
....that time machine didn't let them down..
How short was Stevie Wright?...Even wearing high heeled boots as he does in this video, he is still very short!
Isn't one of the musicians the brother of Angus Young in ACDC?
Yes, George Young. He's the short guitarist to the left of the drummer in this footage
@@VirreFriberg thank you, I wasn't sure. Can you imagine Christmas at the family home?😄
Rick Springfield recorded a cool cover of this song

In two words, Shel Talmy.
Why are so many rock stars such short-arses?
Cuz we as short people are always put down.
Cause they're tall on talent
Because so many amazing talents come in small packages .😉
That's what living on rations during World War II does to an infant. Harry was tall because he was a Dutchman, the tallest ethnic group in the world
