I was born and raised in Cuba and just finished reading this book today. Can’t believe I waited so long to do so. It was amazing and hit so close to home.

First of all: your discussion about the themes within this book are very insightful. Your thoughts about it marry with my own extremely well. Your final point about the imbalance and oppression we, as humans, put upon all other species in our world was an excellent one, and I'm delighted to hear you bring it up. I share your hope, that one day we will treat them with more kindness and respect. We must get past this mindset that animals are only good for what they can provide us.

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I really do feel this book will become more influential in regards to animal rights in the future, and that's a great thing.

I read the book recently, and just finished the 1954 animated movie. Believe it or not, I didn't see Soviet Union/Comunism/Stalin in this. I saw it more as Germany in the 1930's and 1940's, especially the way the pigs were animated in the movie (they did a lot of questionable "arm" salutes, and in one scene, Napoleon was even goose-stepping). Not to mention Napoleon stating that he was going to make decisions for all the animals for them.

It is far better than 1984.
This should be required reading for every human being.
Be aware of the cartoon because it completely changes the narrative and the purpose of the original story.

First off , really good video, now I already read 1984 and animal farm, is there any other book from George Orwell in the same ligue as those two ?

Great question. At the moment I've also only read Animal Farm and 1984 by Orwell. I have heard that his essays are worth reading, although I have not personally got round to them yet. If you like dystopian fiction, I would definitely check out Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley. I'm going to certainly look further into some of Orwell's lesser known works in the future

I personally wouldn't say the pigs represent "the Communists", but rather Stalin's totalitarian regime.
George Orwell was actually an interesting individual, because he met himself at a crossroad, and made it work; he was staunchly patriotic but by the same not, believed in the ideals of socialism.
Wrote this at the start of the video, so I might change it if you've said all this, just wanted to make sure I remembered what I was going to say.

It is time is it down as much as you want to try to break but it’s not sure George Orwell was just a socialist he wasn’t a communist. He hated time is it what do you love? Socialism here to Teri. Awesome but left Socialism hated anything that was against democracy in Socialism. If you wanna try to manipulate the NCO calling ism, I wouldn’t really think so because she’s more of a socialist and communist.
