This is a fantastic review of one of the most under appreciated watches for the price. Excellent close up views; well done. It makes me proud to own it.
This is kind of the hidden gem in the Nomos line up for me...while everyone talks about the various club models or the Tangente, I have the feeling that this model is a bit in the shadow of the other models...I really like it. It has much of classic mens watches from 50s especially if one goes for the 35 mm version, even more looks classic.
Thanks for the review. I've got my sights set on one of these this year (when the watch budget allows). While I get the "dress watch" moniker, I think of it as just a nice watch. When I get mine I'll wear it with whatever clothing I feel like, and not just for dress up (which, like you I RARELY do). Love the macro shots of the dial! Cheers, John
i guess Im randomly asking but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Brentley Legend thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Just looking at the detail on your macro lens shots shows what fantastic quality this watch is - 2.5k is a lot of money but actually I think it could equal watches of a much higher price range for attention to detail. The movement also looks absolutely stunning. I want one!... but will have to save up for a Stowa instead I think. Thanks for sharing. Ps I’m not German but your German sounded good!
Thanks for the review Bruce. That movement is amazing! I have no need for a dress watch but I do appreciate that level of decoration on a movement. Cheers
Super classy. Love the display back but I'm with you on how little I actually dress up I couldn't spend that kind of coin. I would be proud to own it though!
Dress watches arent the ones i'm into. But if i had to pick one, Nomos would be one of my favourites. Great value for the money and i really love their movements!
When I first started working for a Fortune 10 company 35 years ago, I had to wear a three-piece suit to work every single day. Alas, over time that diminished to "Casual Fridays" and then to "Business Casual" every day, to my last days with the company where people were wearing jeans and polo shirts. Sigh. I adore this watch and if I ever needed a dress watch, this would be the one that I would lust for. But I'm retired and never, ever have the opportunity to wear something like this. Part of me wants to get one and just gaze at it longingly while it sits in my watch box, "My precious!"
Bruce you've been absolutely killing it with the selection of watches in your videos lately! Love the simplicity of this Nomos. Maybe a bit too simple? I would prefer the Junghans Max Bill with the anthracite dial instead in terms of design.
Makes sense. I have to say though, the shell cordovan strap looks fantastic. I've only owned chromexcel and calf leather straps before, but I might have to pick up a shell cordovan now. Have only heard great things about them.
Carrying on from ‘The Guardian’s’ v funny comment - Daniel Wellington owners would be mighty jealous of this one! Looks super expensive and the in-house movement looks sensational.
I've been looking at this watch for some time...but have yet to see one in person. I am deliberately between the Orion 35 or the 38mm. I am NOT a large watch guy at all. And the lug height is very large considering. My wrist size is 7 1/4. Any comments would be appreciated.
Superb execution, understated, I'd wear this everyday, but the 19mm lug width really pisses me off, and the 49mm lug to lug distance balls up the concept of a thin, smaller watch.
Is it a dress watch? By definition sure. But at least in urban hipsterish microbrand watch speak it fits right in. And I love bauhaus styling. I honestly hate everything else except Datejust style and SpeedMaster style . Perfect watch for me is the Tangente. But I'm a minimalist freak so.. Nice video.
haha yep. But seriously though, DW, Rossling & Co and all the fashion brands seem to be aping Bauhaus design and they're KILLING it in the sub $1000 market outside our watch enthusiast bubble. If these people who buy these bauhaus fashion watches ever go luxury, my bet is that Nomos will be the next Rolex or at least next Omega in the next 20-30 years as the older market declines.
between this Nomos and Pelton, would you rather buy if you have to choose one? I know that they are completely different (yet, similar, in terms of rather thin dress watch), but they both are $2500. so? which one? I value your honest opinion on this. thanks Bruce.
They are made of heat treated metal. The blue changes much more depending on light than painted ones and never trust the colour on a monitor. Sorry you have to walk into a store and watch it in reality, otherwise you will never know how it's looking. And allways ask to see it under real daylight.
Bruce, you know i think your the best youtuber wrist watcher in the world but i kinda wanna see you review a really terrible watch and just dog the hell out of it for about 5 min. Lol
Yeah, I'm not ragging on the brand. Just this particular model is a bit too boring to me, and doesn't look like it costs as much as it does. I really like when a brand has its own movements.
I think the numerals on the Tangente model add just enough to make it interesting compared to this one. Still... 2.5k is used Grand Seiko territory 😌😌😌

Such a beautiful Daniel Welington homage.
The Guardian haha classic!
Thumbs up for the laugh!
You are my kinda guy!
I literally laughed out loud! Thanks
That's the problem with Nomos..Shit DW have ruined them for me :(

Nicely stated Ron

@Yehuda Watson Instablaster =)
@Brentley Legend thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.

@Brentley Legend It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my account !
@Yehuda Watson no problem =)

Thank you. I took it all throughout high school, but I'll admit that was well over a decade ago haha
When someone is looking for a bauhaus watch. I always show them this watch and tell them keep away from DW, LoL.
Great video and amazing macro.
I applaud you
Beautiful watch, thanks for the vid. Thanks Tony for letting us all get a look at it too.
For sure, Tony is a generous guy
Thanks for the review Bruce. That movement is amazing! I have no need for a dress watch but I do appreciate that level of decoration on a movement. Cheers
Cheers Chris
Another great video Bruce.Thank you.
I love the Bauhaus aesthetic.
I agree man
Truly beautiful watch......those macro shots are stunning!
Thank you Luke
Super classy. Love the display back but I'm with you on how little I actually dress up I couldn't spend that kind of coin. I would be proud to own it though!
Fantastic shots and structure, your review really does this watch justice!
Dress watches arent the ones i'm into. But if i had to pick one, Nomos would be one of my favourites. Great value for the money and i really love their movements!
I agree with you

Thank you! The watch has definitely got to speak to you. For some reason this one does it for me
Makes sense. I have to say though, the shell cordovan strap looks fantastic. I've only owned chromexcel and calf leather straps before, but I might have to pick up a shell cordovan now. Have only heard great things about them.
Nice review, Bruce! First time you didn`t mention the `negative points` on a watch... ;)
Haha any that I thought of would be taste subjective. Its so impressive
Bruce Williams I can imagine. It is, indeed, an amazing timepiece! Cheers!
been eyeing the datum version! great review and macros.👍🏼
Thanks!
Nomos I like....well done again Bruce!!
I appreciate that!
Beautiful watch Bruce, I’m like you I don’t dress up too often or really at all but very nice piece. Good review as always!
Would give me an excuse to dress nice more often lol
I mean you can always put it on a tan leather or suede strap and wear it casually. I think this could easily be dressed down
Very classy. A nice watch and the movement looks great.
Carrying on from ‘The Guardian’s’ v funny comment - Daniel Wellington owners would be mighty jealous of this one! Looks super expensive and the in-house movement looks sensational.

I like the 38 myself
I have this exact watch - fantastic and classy - Thx Bruce
That is one classy dress watch.
Intro music was very Lil Jon esque, nice! Dope watch!
Thanks!
Superb execution, understated, I'd wear this everyday, but the 19mm lug width really pisses me off, and the 49mm lug to lug distance balls up the concept of a thin, smaller watch.
Good point. I would imagine they are going after more form and proportion than practicality
Its quite easy to get 19mm leather straps mate. Wouldn't let that put you off the watch 👍
That lug to lug is the deal breaker for me
Is it a dress watch? By definition sure. But at least in urban hipsterish microbrand watch speak it fits right in. And I love bauhaus styling. I honestly hate everything else except Datejust style and SpeedMaster style . Perfect watch for me is the Tangente. But I'm a minimalist freak so..
Nice video.
lol then these Urban Hipsters you speak of are on to something!
That is a really great point Sean
between this Nomos and Pelton, would you rather buy if you have to choose one?
I know that they are completely different (yet, similar, in terms of rather thin dress watch), but they both are $2500.
so? which one? I value your honest opinion on this.
thanks Bruce.
That watch is so Bauhaus, Peter Murphy sued it for copyright infringement.
Awesome watch.. Beautiful... Not automatic right?
Another great Review! Ever thought of doing “a state of collection” video??
Awesome watch! I really like it, only problem for me is that I don't dress up often like you, anyways, beautiful watch
I hear you
It's a very very nice watch.
How many times do I need to turn the crown to have full power reserve without risk of forcing movement? Thanks
speaking of dress watches... can you please review the Orient Agent!
Lovely! $2500 is out of my price range however. $1000 and maybe I’d get one. But I get it, it’s in-house and stuff
Hmmmm.... looks like an ETA Unitas movement (which is good!). Very nice watch with a very nice style and fini.
fantastic macro shots , dude.
Thanks Joe!
I want to be a fan of nomos but i just wish they made sports watches instead of dress. The quality looks amazing, im just not a dress watch guy.
The only problem I have with this watch is, that the hands are not in the same blue as on there website. They are a little bit to dark for me.
Lol
It's always subjective but I can't deal with the lugs being so long. Otherwise flawless.
Good point
Good point. That’s why I opted to go for the 35 mm version. I love and fits perfectly!
The edits tho😍
What a beaut! He says unable to buy one...
20mm lug width would have been ideal but 19mm isn't a deal breaker. Too dressy for my tastes but nice.
Very clean
Does anyone who owns a Nomos have advice on choosing between a Tangente or Orion? I’m leaning towards the tangente because I rarely wear a suit etc
Danke.
Bitte
So how accurate is it?
Mind me asking your wrist size?
My biggest question 35 or 38?
What size is your wrist?
Check out the Nomos Autobahn!
This watch is sharp....
the quality is obvious but its just too understated for my taste...
Pity it’s too understated in look.
The design is a bit too dull for my tastes. No way I'd guess it was $2500
Though you get brilliant build quality. I highly recommend the Tangente line.
Yeah, I'm not ragging on the brand. Just this particular model is a bit too boring to me, and doesn't look like it costs as much as it does. I really like when a brand has its own movements.
I think the numerals on the Tangente model add just enough to make it interesting compared to this one. Still... 2.5k is used Grand Seiko territory 😌😌😌
hanknova7771 Sadly never experienced a GS
Are they really that great?
Finn Kah hahaha, neither have I. I'm still climbing that mountain. I know I want one.
I find it went past simple to dull.
i would buy it if it's 250$
