I always tear up when i watch her, she's not just dancing flamenco, she literally embodies the entire spirit and culture. She dances flamenco like she invented it, to watch her, is like being able to witness the very first person to ever dance flamenco. She doesn't just dance it, she truly understands it's reason for being. Her command, her control, she is truly powerful.
And on top of everything she was deaf. Amazing! How could she feel the vibes in the dance floor. There is a spanish film called La Singla. I totally recommend it.

My brother in Germany told me to look her up as he has no Internet and; so glad I did...I grew up on Flamenco and the guitar but her being deaf ( and me near deaf) I understand her passion for the dance. It pours out of her during every thing she does! This is incredible and why did not many of us hear about her? Thank you!
Right now, from 4 February until 3 of May 2024 there is a documentary about her on Arte, German/French TV channel. It's also on UA-cam! Just discovered it yesterday and I'm fascinated. A friend of my daughter lost her hearing gradually when she was 10. She loved techno and learned to play violin before she got implants at 17/18.
This is Bulería being classed as "Flamenco." Flamenco is actually Bulería that has been modified by colonial Spain to create a "refined" ballet-style national dance. La Singla is expressing raw rhythms, movements, and physical gesturing that is the essence of Bulería. Thank you La Singla for keeping the indigenous art form/tradition alive. ❤
