I just got a new 2012 Raider S , out the door , tax , tags all , for $12,200 . The bike stickered out at $15,180 , not counting tax , tags , or prep . I feel guilty of a crime , but am happy with this machine . The detail is awsome , the sheetmetal , paint , chrome , just everything . I am very impressed . It feels so strong , rides out good . See it on my channel soon , along with my other bikes . I love them all , but I will say , this is one bad assed bike . Ride safe to all of ya , Thanks
I love my Raider S. It rides like a much lighter bike, super comfortable, handles great and feels solid on any road. Power is never a concern, I barely need 5th gear unless I'm on the interstate. Goose the throttle a little and it jumps from 65 to 85 mph without breaking a sweat. The only thing I'd change is a bigger gas tank and a little bit softer rear suspension. Quality construction throughout, awesome details and a real beauty. I get comments every time I take it out.
This girl is the reason I bought a Raider! Just kidding, I have a 2016 Raider and it is the best bike that I have ever owned. The Raider is bad ass but you don't need to ride it that way, but when you do want to ride it hard or need some power to take care of someone it is there and it is there immediately. This bike rocks.
Great video, well put together, great set, bikes look great, announcer was very convincing and well spoken, kudos to Yamaha and whomever shot this for them....BTW, I have a 2012 SCL waiting for me...
Yamaha makes good bikes for reasonable prices, don't get hung up on the rice burner attitude, you don't have to spend 20 k on a bike to enjoy riding or to belong, live to ride! Whatever you ride!
I took a look at the bike in the showroom yesterday (May 31,2013). I like the engine looks...If I ever bought one used I would remove the overblown reverse rake pipes and go with some straight shots with big city thunder baffles for a nice low note. Ride on y'all.
I bought the Star in 10 and it is a nice ride, but I have a vibration in the throttle that causes my hand to go numb. Checked other Raiders but no problem. Went back to the dealer and got nowhere other than "yep something funny here" so I changed the grips and installed a break away cruise control....we will see. I do like the bike, my wife rides a Heritage classic. Nobody's perfect.
I loved my Raider, thought it was the best looking cruiser ever, but, it didn't turn well even for a cruiser, go into a corner a bit to hot and you better be wearing good riding gear.
This is a better video than the Bolt videos which I call, "Why your bike sucks!", videos. Sells the bike on it's strong points. Would have loved seeing her ride the bike more. If she can control this big bike, anyone can. It is an intimidating bike for big guys. The pipes look better in person than in pictures and videos.
Cory, it isn't really hard to see that you are a Harley or nothing type of attitude. I am 5'6" tall, weigh only 135 lbs. I own and ride a 2016 Raider everyday. I ride it hard, not afraid of controlling it's power. I can assure you that this bike will make your Harley look like a Honda Rebel if we went head to head. Get over your attitude just to impress your Harley friends and actually start looking at decent motorcycles that you would actually love riding hero.
It's not always the government. I mean, in Africa (I am married to an African lady) each village, even each street has its waste incineration. They pile up the trash and every other day or so they burn it. It is the gas cleaning that makes the difference and with it comes the cleaning of the gas washer fluids, which is acid and basic fluids but not water. That is what makes these plants expensive not only in building them but also in operating them. To run even without significant profit you have calculate roughly 30+ dollar per ton of "normal" waste. Not all people are willing to pay that much for "elimination" of waste (which they want to get rid off). I have seen even in Europe huge piles of trash very next to the area of modern incinerators, dumped there illegally obviously because the people don't want to pay money for their trash... As long as people don't feel the consequences of their trash, they won't change behavior...
In the UK the insurance would cost more than the bike because you all go by engine size. I was stationed in the UK for 6 years total while I was in the air force and I can personally say that your insurance system sucks big time. You all go by engine size when coming up with a price. Nothing else matters other than engine size when buying insurance in the UK. I'm on your side, but your countries system with insurance really blows.
You'll hear it as it blows by you, especially if it has after market pipes. And just for shits and grins, if you were really serious about this bike you would have been to a dealer actually looking at it instead of being on here cutting on it.
"Incredibly light?" C'mon! Nobody likes being played the fool. This boy is heavy, but once your rolling it feel much more light and nimble. That is how you should have phrased it. Companies always exaggerate their product's benefits while always hiding its limitations. It's bad enough that our politicians lie. But you at Yamaha should hold a higher standard than politicians.
Gary, show us another BIG JUG bike like the Raider that only weighs 730 lbs? You can't. The Raider/Harley Killer is 200 lbs lighter than anything close to what this bike is.
Show us what you ride that is better than the Raider Gary? And just for shits and grins, you sir have a serious interest in the Raider or you wouldn't have watched the above vid.
Do you know if they’re ever smart enough to bring this bike back, they need to stop making exhausts this stupid! The pipes are butt ugly. Who keeps making these big fat pipes and putting them stock on bikes?! Stop it, just please freaking stop it! It’s ugly. Most people get rid of them. Decent size pipes are much more appealing!

It turns well ? REALLY, mine didn't. Some of the harley's I've owned turned better.
My 2015 Raider's the best bike I've ever ridden.

Go with the cobra pipes. I own a 2016 Raider with the cobra pipes and it is spectacular.
I love the fit and finish, as well as those huge jugs! And, the bike's not bad, either!
2022 y sigue siendo de mis favoritas
So sad Yamaha stop making it 😞
yamaha raider is the best motorcycle that I ever ride
Best cruiser Yamaha ever made
I bought the Star in 10 and it is a nice ride, but I have a vibration in the throttle that causes my hand to go numb. Checked other Raiders but no problem. "You dont habe to drop a ton of money to get the performance you want" oooooh..shots fired at Harley.

the 5-speed transmission is what keeps me away from this bike, i am always digging for 6th!!!
Bring this bike to the uk!!!!!!

I don't get it, not once did I hear the bike's engine!!
they were selling sex appeal.........lol

They talk alot about its "great handling". I own a Raider. Handling is shit. Straight line and look is killer though.
where is the sound of the motor!!!!
from stock the bike has no exhaust punch. Put some good after market pipes on it and wow does it sing!
They need to get a class girl to match this sweet ride.
It was in the first 30 seconds.
Ееее

What ever you are on Gary you need to take back to your corner dealer because you got some bad stuff.
@@battlemouse1 To say a 750 lb bike is "incredibly light" is like saying a fat woman is not fat but rather thin for her size. :^)
