DIY Install of a Duel Temperature Bidet Seat
I recently returned from traveling throughout Spain and Portugal and decided I wanted a bidet. After doing some research, I came across this Brondell non-electric, dual-temperature bidet seat for 119$ that had great reviews.
This bidet was easy to install so I thought I'd make a quick video showing the key points on how you can install one yourself if you decide you'd like to invest in one. It comes with everything you need including Teflon tape.
You will need a bucket or towel to catch any residual water and an adjustable wrench for the hoses and connectors.
Before you start, it is a good idea to read over the instructions in advance to make sure that you understand the process. It's also a good idea to check your connections to make sure that what's provided with your new seat will fit your particular plumbing setup.
    Installation:
    1. Once you're ready to install first thing you need to do is turn off the water running into the toilet from the wall. Locate the shut-off valve behind the toilet and turn it clockwise.
    2. After you've turned the water off, flush the toilet holding the lever down until all the water leaves the tank.
    3. Next remove your existing toilet seat by unscrewing the nuts holding the seat to the toilet bowl and lifting it off.
    4. Next place your bucket or bowl under the water line area. Unscrew the flexible water supply line under the toilet tank so that both the supply line and the upper tank where the hose was attached can drain.
    5. Take the provided larger T-valve, insert the provided rubber washer, and screw it onto the toilet bowl fill valve pipe from under the tank. I like to add Teflon tape to any pipe threads before connecting and tightening.
    6. After adding Teflon tape to the threads on the Tvalve, reconnect the hose from the water supply from the wall to the bottom of the T-valve.
    7. Lay the seat bracket mounting plate onto the toilet lining up the seat holes. Place the ridged adjustable brackets onto the ridges on the bracket aligning them with the bolt holes. Add the plastic mounting bolts into each hole and secure each with the provided plastic nuts. Leave some play so that you can adjust and align the seat once you have it in place. Slide the seat toward the mounting plate and complete the tightening of the screws under the bowl once you have it aligned.
    8. Connect the elbow side of the bidet cold water supply tightening by hand. Then attach the opposite end of the hose to the Tvalve near the water supply line.
    9. If you do not plan to add a warm water line use the nut with washer over the hot water in line on the bidet seat. If you plan to connect the hot water line turn off the hot water supply valve off under your sink on the hot water side. Turn the hot water faucet on to drain any water in the line out. Place a bucket or bowl under the line and unscrew the hose from the valve. Add Teflon tape to the valve threads. Take the smaller provided Tvalve with the rubber washer and screw it onto the hot water supply valve.
    10. Remove the pressure nut from the pressure connector on the valve, slide it onto the provided plastic hose, push the hose onto the end of the valve to the lip, and tighten the nut onto the valve. Reconnect the water supply line from under the sink to the Tvalve, be sure to use Teflon tape on the ridges.
    11. Drill holes if needed through the back side of the vanity and feed the tubing from under the sink toward the toilet. Slide the nut over the tube, push the pressure connector onto the hose past the lip, and attach it to the hot water inlet line to the bidet seat. Tighten it by hand carefully.
    12. Slowly turn on the hot water supply under the sink and the water to the toilet tank. Let them sit and later be sure to check all of your connections to be sure nothing leaks.
And that's it you've just installed the bidet seat now you just have to learn how to use the controls in order to enjoy your new bidet.
