yes actually, i should've taken more time on the tabs, or used my super big brain. it's definitely a strum and not just a note. while i'm talking about things i've done incorrectly, the entire end of Old Grey is completely wrong. :)
Do you know alot of music theory? ive always pretty much played in standard or Eb so this kind of playing is foreign to me. What did you learn or focus on to play like this? I would like to eventually get in to this kind of playing but its intimidating when I have learned so much in standard. It would be almost like learning a new instrument for me.
I know very little theory. I learned songs by Owen with tabs when i was 15-16 years old. Weird tunings might seem intimidating at first but it’s actually like setting your guitar to Easy mode. Yeah there’s a small learning curve, but since you have experience in standard you’ll pick it up quicker than you might think
@@nicholasstutsman Right on! my nephew showed me Midwest pen pals and a couple others and I was immediately intrigued by the playing. I know a decent amount of theory so yeah, Im hoping it will work in my favour. I screwed around with(FACGCE) for a while and it didn't take me very long to get some cool ideas going and realized I was playing a lot of stuff in C major. so Im going to try this tuning out next, now I really want a telly. Thanks for the reply and tabs!
Are you using your index finger to press down on both 7 frets on the a and e (6th) string? I’ve been watching it over and over and I only see you move one finger, but when I try and do it I just end up muting the 6th string, so I can’t tell
Wait, maybe I didn’t understand the question? My index finger, on either hand, doesn’t press two strings simultaneously throughout either of these parts…I think.
wait that’s a lie. in the second part, my left index finger hand is holding down 7th fret GBE strings, when my middle is on 8th on B and ring finger does the little 7h9p7 on the high E. am i making sense
