Great video! I grew up in that area and my grandparents lived in one of the old wharf houses. Crossed that brook into the coppice many a time to play, although in those days it was an old telephone pole, not a wooden bridge, so I've fallen in once or twice!
I've yet again not been disappointed at all on our journey. Wonderful walk. Loads of information and historical data. Wharfinger (pronounced wor-fin-jer) is an archaic term for a person who is the keeper or owner of a wharf. The wharfinger takes custody of and is responsible for goods delivered to the wharf, typically has an office on the wharf and is responsible for day-to-day activities including resolving disputes. Fantastic film - much more please
Only recently found your channel, on this video the field u was looking up, with the last kissing gate, is owned by my family, if u had walked up just a little further, u would of seen the canal bridge, with ridgeway road going over it. And also there is a bridle path, not far from where I live, that takes u more towards the river lugg, there is a huge bed of the old canal running thru a small wood, an u can also see where it once went across the river!
@@ParkinsonsWalks cheers Ron, it's bit of a walk around the bridle path, but u can park on it, just off the b road. Or can always park in end of our drive way. If u ever wanna come investigate, more than welcome to help u out! Cheers Craig
