I've been working on so much these past few months that I've had little down time at all to relax and it made me miss the days I would just play classical guitar for hours.
Sweetwater and I partnered up to bring you a video on the Cordoba C12! Thanks for watching!
For a while, I've wanted to put out into the world how much I love Cordoba guitars and talk about why I got into classical guitar and why I feel all guitarists should try it if they haven't. I had a hard time keeping the video informative and short since I didn't script it, but it was nice to just speak from the heart again instead of be too rigid. I'm not much of a 'vlogger' but I hope with more practice I can make even more enjoyable videos like this for those of you who like it.
Let me know in the comments your experience with classical guitar or if this video has sparked a curiosity for it!

Definitely enjoyed this. Although it's like an interview, it's kind of relaxed, laid back, and sort of intimate.
My friend recently fixed the bridge of a steel string I shamefully neglected, but I've been dabbling on it ever since. Even caused me to pull out my Guitar 4 Dummies book.
But tangents aside, I enjoyed this talk; hope to see more in the future.

I always wondered why you learned classical guitar, now i know :D I am also thinking about taking classical in university, right now im doing a bachleor in music teaching, but i want to focus more on the music part without the teaching part! I'll still finish this degree, but i am interessted in classical guitar. I never knew where to start with finding a classical guitar, but now i will definitly be looking out for a cordoba guitar. Awesome stuff man :)

I've never taken formal lessons and I'm self-taught except for the 5 basic chord positions.
I prefer playing acoustic to electric; I like finger picking and having it's own reverb without being hooked up to an amp.
    Thanks for the video Jules!

A bit late to the party, but I recently started learning classical guitar with a teacher. Thanks for sharing your passion! Got a lower model for now, but I would really like to get a Cordoba C10 one day. Classical guitar is so much fun! Been following you for many years, keep up the good work!

so i got here from doorbells (kinda expected) but then i started watching the mario and tony hawk highlights, and then i slowly stepped into the music part of this channel. I wanna hear you talk about guitars, and your experiences while playing. I also started watching people build electric guitars (because i like to build) and i think my first guitar might be an acoustic guitar made by me. I love your content so much that i wanna pick up guitar, even though the last instrument i played, the viola, gave me some trouble.
tl:dr, I love your stuff, keep posting, specifically, i want more videos about guitars.

Disclaimer! I don't want to discourage anyone from pursuing classical guitar.
I didn't get into classical on purpose, a friend of mine from high school auditioned for classical guitar at university taught by a phenomenal classical guitarist. I was recommended to try to audition since we played music together for a bit. I didn't have my own classical so I used a cheap one my high school had. I ended ditching 90% of my classes just to practice my rep in the music room. Fast forward I got in the school and I was so happy about the achievement. Going into music school I just wanted to know theory and have a better understanding of the guitar and it's capabilities. My first semester was rough, not like I didn't do the work or put in the time I absolutely did. Towards the end of the semester it was looking very promising starting out strong with a decent gpa. Final exams week including my jury (jury is a short performance on the pieces you worked on with your dictated teacher during the semester), I did most of the exams and my jury getting an A on it. Leaving one final exam before winter break, and for people that know music school ear training and sight singing are an important part of the curriculum. I tried my best..... I ended up having a panic attack during the exam and I got a grade below what was required to pass (B) despite on what your grade was before (it was an A before i took the exam). I would understand failing to try again, but this fucked me up because I was so close and I thought I give it 150% a true honest effort, but all the time I put towards to study showed me that I wasted my time. Months later I had an option to retake the exam, so I setup a date and time, tried practicing until the day came. On the day I showed up on campus I got there with 20 mins to spare to I tried warming up and waited in a lobby. The place I sat at oddly enough wasn't really visible for most people walking by. My professor, who was conducting the retake didn't see me and walked past and I vividly remember my stomach sank so low I couldn't speak and I started to feel my body telling me to leave. So I left. College and furthering your education is important but, college is serious shit that can affect you mentally. I still enjoy music and playing it but, I wanted to share this story because it's still one of those things I can't let go. Having people both close and not close say things like "you're so talented", "You're gonna make it" made me more of a stranger to myself to put the icing the cake. This was probably terrible to read but, I appreciate you a lot for at least taking a look.

Thanks for the video, still considering a C series. I've been thinking the C3M personally just for my budget. Other reason being, I am very superstitious about bringing anything too expensive with me, and I figured if I had something cheaper like the C3M or the C5 for that matter, I wouldn't be too freaked out about taking it places with me. Also, as someone who is trying to get better at talking into a camera, I feel for ya. Great video and I hope to see more like it soon!

Question, will you ever do classical guitar pieces on your main channel?
I know you've done some video game covers with classical guitar before but will you ever do just straight up classical guitar piece? 😁
Also, I never tried a Cordoba guitar before, I only ever use Yamaha ones.

The raised fingerboard that you speak of is in the style of "Humphrey" guitars and is there purely to grant easier access to the upper register on the fingerboard. It does nothing for the sound of the guitar and was not intended for that purpose.

I used to live in the same town as Thomas Humphrey, Gardiner New York. He brought a lot of high level players into the area to perform.. Sharon Isbin, Assad Bros, Angel Romero, Eliot Fisk etc…
      I met him many times.
He told me exactly the opposite of what you said. He designed the millennium guitar to increase the angle of the strings to the soundboard, providing extra torque. Playability of the upper frets had nothing to do with his idea.
He died shortly after. Many of his guitars were finished by my old guitar tech, Bill Kramer Harrison
