So I’m still in cos school. But we cut men’s hair. But my clippers don’t have a open close lever. Can u explain the difference is between having it opened or closed? Thank you love the work and the comedy makes it less nerve racking

When it is closed, that means the lever is all the way up. When it is open, the lever is all the way down. Essentially having your clipper being all the way closed means that it would cut down to skin. Having your level open, would equate to a .5 or 1/2 guard. The more your lever is open, the less hair it cuts & vice versa. The more your lever is closed, the more hair it cuts. I’m by no means a professional but I love teaching what I know so if you have any barbering questions, hit my dm. @interjext

Im growing out my question is how often should I get it trimmed im afraid the barber may cut to much off i have A pretty decent length but I want to grow it out as far as possible

I would get it trimmed once a month. Make sure you tell the barber “just cut the loose ends.”

Garrick Dixon Thanks. I started cutting like 6 months ago. When I say I literally have 10+ clippers and trimmers lmao. I started with the Walmart color system. Then I moved to a wireless Wahl and a Nas bevel. I’ve got some pretty good Wahl liners but I’m going to get either a “slim line” or the “t outliner II” AND I’m really trying to decide between the “Andis Master” or the “Wahl Magic Clip” - cuz my fade game is trash right now but I decent with clipper over comb. Is it the clippers or me? Probably me.
