These tunes with Harris and Bartley are great. Please get them back as many times as possible!
Of all the gems in The Emmett Cohen Collective's Lockdown Lexicon of Jazz, this version of Miles' bop masterpiece must rank in the top ten. It should count as one of the very best versions of "Little Willie Leaps" since it was first recorded by Miles and Bird. Just outstanding from start to finish: the concise bop piano intro provides the impetus for this inspired quintet performance a la bebop and beyond. Every solo builds, develops and swings beautifully: Bruce Harris evokes Art Farmer and early Miles with strong lines that incorporate the high intervals beloved by the Bop masters; Patrick Bartley reminded me of Gigi Gryce and Lou Donaldson with some John Handy seasoning in a singing solo of joyful saxophony, so full of feeling; Emmett Cohen dazzles again with a solo that brought to mind Bud Powell and Monk plus some George Cables-like passages; Russell "The Rock" Hall as ever maintained a deeply swinging groove throughout adding a solo reminiscent of a young Paul Chambers with some "Eastcoasting" Mingus in the tone and drive of his lines; Joe Saylor's strength of drumming nourishes the band performance, protects the groove
without grandstanding or swamping the solos with just great sound on every part of his drumset. "Little Willie Leaps"? I'm jumping for joy.
Very well put. Sometimes I wish critics of music would write with as much attention to detail and historical knowledge as you have here.
I will never, ever get tired of one guy picking up the last phrase of the previous soloist. Magnificent all around.
This is the best of the sessions I've heard so far. So in the tradition it's tempting to put together a list of timestamps and all the different classic quotes in here. Clifford Brown, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk....
Please do!

Such a nice transition from the trumpet solo to the sax solo!
Pat. Your playing single handedly made me buy and learn the saxophone. I can hear the fun of playing in every note of yours. Playing pokemon tunes as standards is my new breakfasts now. Thanks man.

i think Harris should use more wide range. Sometimes he can's find the new ways and materials.
My mans is dressed like Andre 3k
Nah.
Without partitions, the tunes, not obvious, and the chords changes, not obvious too. Not a real standart.
