I have to say that after using apps (Duolingo, memerize, etc) listening to audio, watching UA-cam and everything else under the sun... this channel and these videos have done more for my French Learning than ANYTHING else. Merci beaucoup madame Ayel!!!
I second this! But I do still use Duolingo just to keep the streak going I’m too deep into it to lose my streak 😭
What an encouraging video! Merci !

Alice, btw I have a question regarding the use of a translator in the context of comprehensible input. At some point one has to start using the language, but as an adult its hard to convey more complex subjects as opposed to what a one year old child would want to, what is your opinion; just try your best (something that could take ages), or getting help from for example google translate, and then write whatever it suggests if it seems good enough? Thanks anyway. To everyone else; Alice is the best in this field of comprehensible input!
You can of course use a translator as in my opinion, helps improve tremendously. You are not a child, you are an adult so use the tools available to improve faster. For example, little children can't read but as adults, we can read and wa can use the tool of reading to get even more input. Translators are the same, they helps us get more input :-)
Is there any way to understand the difference between Je voulais vs J'ai voulu?
both mean "I wanted" in English.
J'ai voulu is the passé composé et je voulais is the imparfait which are 2 different tenses in the past. The imparfait describes what was happening all around you (including you), the background. Also it refers to ongoing events, habits, what used to be. The passé composé expresses what took place at a precise moment: a specific event or a succession of specific events, the main storyline.
