  • Often people with autism can have trouble finding work, but one school in Los Angeles is helping students on the spectrum take advantage of their talents and reach new heights. Exceptional Minds is a three-year program for young adults that trains students in the art of visual effects, animation and graphics. The goal is to place students in jobs in the entertainment industry. Graduates of the program have worked on projects for Marvel Comics and Game of Thrones among others.

Its not easy being autistic, its a daily challenge but I am happy that exceptional minds is creating an environment where people on the spectrum can do what they love and be themselves! Jesus Christ is so incredible

I am amazed again, with this example, to see how much autistic people are focused on finding a productive job, and I keep wandering why the employers don't like to hire them. HR is probably a big barrier ; because of incorrect body posture, of not looking the HR guy is the eye, or looking too much, who knows what are their criterias.
The result is always that these HR people don't trust those who are not acting exactly like they expect. They reject hard working people with that kind of non sense screening.
HR are probably right when selecting sale people. Those sales guy need the same "people skills" as HR.
