And people would ask me, why do you play rock n roll and why folk music? I'll tell them that, black people invented rock n roll and that blacks in the rural South helped create country music. And the Banjos you see those white country artist playing arose as a folk instrument powering the dances of New World Africans. And that the Banjo was created by enslaved Africans, not some white person. And the very music I play which is "folk rock" isn't something that was created by white artist like Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel or Paul Simon it originated from Black folk musicians who created the soundtrack for a movement-and helped Bob Dylan find his sound.
