We have gone camping my whole life and have many stories like yours. It's just what happens when you spend time out in the bush. I do love bush camping here in Australia, nothing compares.
I remember the fish taco video - great to hear the story behind the scenes! A saying, from the time I lived in Florida, is about oceans and hurricanes, but applies to nature in general - "If you can see the ocean, the ocean can see you." Nature will do what she wants.
Haha that's accurate for camping here in Hawaii. Days of prep, hope that a storm doesn't blow through, then days of clean up afterwards. But when it's good, it's really good.
We love camping and didn't let an incident like that stop us. We had a small storm come over our area while we were out for the day. Dumped a huge amount of rain and we hadn't setup our for that. Water pooled on the annex to the point where it collapsed and bent the steel poles. Made a smooth 90 degree bend. I spent about an hour using the front drawbar of the trailer to bend the poles back enough so we could setup the annex again. That was over 10 years ago and we go camping 3 or 4 times a year every year since then.
Hello, what an adventure! When you mentioned all the other campers packing up, weather did not enter my mind! What a story! Of course we, well myself would like to see another camping video but what to cook, hmmmmmm, endless possibilities!! Going to go watch the taco camping video, enjoy the rest of your day!!
you should do another one. just wait till you find a perfect day where that WONT happen, like the winter idea is a great idea and do it. i love camp cooking videos a lot and you obv would do great at it since you're like the best at what you do, so yeah, give it another chance Andy. i would love to see more! so many of us would. go for it. keep an aye at the weather and be prepared with minimum stuff as well. i'm no camp expert just something i'd do. winter would def help
Sometimes every camping trip seems to be a learning experience. Sometimes I feel competent . . . and I'm not trying to film any of it! Kudos to you and your team, Andy! Once had my tent blow away downhill in the high desert with me and my dog, cot, cast iron cookware, campstove, ice chest all inside. It's hard to find the door then . . . 😆😆😆 Tent stakes pulled out of the ground and tie-down lines snapped, I learned the hard way when I should have called it quits😆 But I still go camping.
Everyone who camps has stories like this one, including myself. But I still love camping! It's fun being in the wilderness and improvising, because you can't bring your entire home with you. It's a test in minimalism!
Oh man I have never related to a story so much. It is sooo much harder than people think to make camp cooking content! I've had a few shockers in my time. I have a bunch of stuff to shoot on the Sunny Coast next year so let me know if you want a hand (I have a Landcruiser I can use over there).
Definitely try again, even if not filming, and the cooler months are the go. I would also would love to see a camping collaboration with Harry f2f & Marion. Make it competitive 🤣 could be fun. I think we all have at least one camping trip that was a shocker, but the good ones are definitely worth it. I am still working on simplifying things but also love to fire cook & have all the things 🤣 hopeless really, but love it.
I remember that camping video and how amazing the fish looked! It’s so interesting to hear now what happened after the video was filmed and how hectic it must have been trying to get everything together to get out of there. But the food looked incredible!
We love camping, there are always stories to tell afterwards. We're going camping for 3 weeks this Christmas, remote NSW, it will be so friggin hot, but oh well, the only time hubby gets off. Plan to make content 😉
You forgot some key points chef - the drone hunt, mitch getting whacked in the head by the pole as everything collapsed, katelyn chilling in the swag watching youtube having the time of her life while I fend off a panic attack 😂😂 My goodness what a time haha
That sounds awful but like a comedy sketch, would make good bloopers! You must be keen to go again? 🤣 I see Harry is keen for a collaboration & Marion is a local, the more the merrier? More helpers & better weather, good food under the stars, sounds great to me.
Sounds like our experience over NYE at a campsite next to a river inland from Sunshine Coast! That was about 2 years ago! I was not impressed... but camping is still on the agenda... each trip is different.
Camping can sometimes be great, and sometimes not so great. I really liked the last camp feed of fish that you did Andy. Maybe check the weather apps before you camp next 🤔🙂
bro i was not thinking at all it would be a thunderstorm lmaooo i was thinking more like some horror movie shit camping where those people you were talking about were trying to murder you guys or something😂😂😂 but that sounds so bad and i have no idea why i haven't thought of that, a much bigger possibility than some people going after you guys in the woods by a lake/river.
Hiya Andy! I know the chances of you seeing this comment are very slim, but I am hopeful 😂 I am a fellow content creator living in Melbourne and would love to collaborate with you, I am very much a home taught baker but have been incredibly inspired by you and your journey as I start my early days of creating content 🎉 I totally understand if you don’t want to collaborate with me as I am very very new and shoot in a very small kitchen but I would love to ask you some questions as I am really wanting to grow my channel so any suggestions/ ideas or even feedback would be amazing!
my god Andrews very sexy and cute looking hahaha love the videos and vlogs Andrew and ya thinking about yesterdays video personally i think a lot has changed now compared to the 80s and 90s when you can travel around Europe and go from job to job i mean for a lot of Irish guys etc that i know a big thing was to travel to the Uk for a year or a few years to work on building sites etc and even a good family friend of ours used to pretty much go in during the morning get so much off the other workers lets say 5 pound which was a nice bit of cash back then and cook them breakfast lunch and dinner and any cash he had after getting all his ingredients of course used it to get his booze for free that night. and if your ever doing a food tour of Ireland one place personally that has the best sea food is called The Ring of Kerry and towns Like Dingle that get their fish straight from the harbour every body and its so so tasty cause you couldn't get it any fresher haha
'Noone wants to see me cook.'. Bullshit, love it when Caitlin cooks!!

When you give it another go, It'd be great to see a crossover between you and Harry from Fire To Fork at some point in the future
Haha that's accurate for camping here in Hawaii. Days of prep, hope that a storm doesn't blow through, then days of clean up afterwards. But when it's good, it's really good.

I’ve had similar camping experiences! All the same we love the camping videos!
Haha, great start to the camping content! You should give it a try another time!
Andy, Chef and Legend, as are all of your team. Camping can be great but it can also be dreadful! Peace and ❤ to you all

Well, it's a real shame you didn't film that aftermath. Your anecdote was brilliant - imagine that as content!!
We love camping, there are always stories to tell afterwards. We're going camping for 3 weeks this Christmas, remote NSW, it will be so friggin hot, but oh well, the only time hubby gets off. Plan to make content 😉

After that story, you have to go camping again. Just make sure you have an emergency weather radio handy and pay attention to other campers.
How often do you go to the gym?
Don’t wanna sound like a broken record but really interested in your tattoos big dog
didn't see any weetbix there for the rumballs

Maybe hire everything, and leave it to others to clean it.
