Hey y’all, congratulations on reaching 1000 subscribers. Jay and Jen sent us over. Thanx for sharing, we are a ways behind but have been thinking about using diesel and hydraulic fluid. Looks great. Be Safe and thanx for sharing!!
👍looks good! Your camp has really come together nicely!!! Go Fishing!! Hope your small jobs are caught up for now…. Time to just smell the roses and relax more. Enjoy your new boat. Hard to believe it’s freezing cold up here in Manitoba and lots of snow on the ground 👍 B Deacon Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Barry! Hope you are staying warm!! There is snow in Minnesota too- Ol’ winter has really settled in. We did get some relaxation & fishing in. Next video you will get to see some of that. Lol but we always have to have a project 😂
Hey, Glad you made this video. Was going to send ya a message asking about the oil/diesel stain.....looks great. I assume the odor goes away after some time.....does it help with deterring bugs and wasps and such?? best wishes guys
Hi!! It’s not any more potent than polyethylene or stain- The smell goes away pretty quickly. As far as bugs I am not really sure but I will say we don’t have a problem…. I highly suggest this route- It soaks deep into the wood vs just the outside layer. It’s a messy job though 😂 I plan to put a 2nd coat on everything in the spring. Only because I want it darker.
Just come over from Jay & Jen's channel and ive subscribed to you. Congrats on reaching over 1k+ subs. I must binge watch your journey from the start so i can catch up. Take care and God bless 🙏🎅💚🇬🇧....Simon
Off-grid with Jay&Jen sent me over to check out the stain and seal on y'all's "Shabin"?! It does look good. How long will it last, or will it need it every couple years? Happy Holidays to you and yours! 🌲🧑🎄. ❄️☃️. 🧑🎄🌲
Hello! I apologize for not seeing your comment sooner. Thanks for checking out the channel❤️ I think it will last a long time or several years before needing reapplied but I still want it darker…. So I will probably coat it again next summer. Hope your holidays were magical❤️
@ashleysidlar2563 I've just done our 10 year 10 x 20 ft summer house, used engine oil and diesel mix 50/50 this time, previously used watermarked fence paint To my surprise not any noticeable smell, was expecting it to have an over powering smell but it's barely noticeable even up close I live in the UK so don't often see much sun. Used a fence paint brush to make sure it penetrated the wood Used just over a gallon of oil not sure how thick a consistency it shoul have been but was really runny I'm not sure how many coats you need to do but will leave it a day and add second coat but will use less diesel to get a thicker consistency

Hello & thank you!! I think used hydraulic oil would work. It’s a great method & so happy we went with it. We appreciate you being here❤️
LOVE the oil stained color. Looks amazing, Great Job!
Thank you!! We are so happy with the results & protection.
It’s looking amazing I like the contrast with the dark trim
Thank you!! We will definitely be adding more dark accents in the spring.
Thats why they say a 50/50 and i also seen they you should filter the oil with a shirt
It looks amazing guy's, with the black trim just make it pop !!
Thank you!! I need to add more black details in the spring for sure!!
Looking amazing
Thank you!! ❤️❤️
I figured I'd had the same problem if I use a pump sprayer.. didn't want to get my airless paint machine dirty.. But it was easy work with that thing
Awesome cabin.....sent over by Jay and Jen.
Thank you!!❤️

Hello from Jay and Jen
Hello!! Thanks for checking out our channel!!
is the smell overwhelming, or does it evaporate/sink-in and become unnoticeable after a period of time?
I would like to know this as well!!!

Hello! Delayed reply…. Sorry. The smell actually went away after just a few days thankfully.
