bahaha the way I was like "🔵u🔵" when you pulled out that cobalt jacket. Also the flower jacket!!!! it's so perfect for you & totally reminds me of your art-style, too!!!!!
i am surprised how much i love rothko paintings, like minimalist abstract art isn’t my vibe but there was an exhibit here with a bunch of his paintings and it was literally a spiritual experience like i’m obsessed
Coloring in the stripe you don't like is a great idea! Another idea is to embroider it, I think I thin line of chain-stitched red would cover up the pink and add some very cool texture.
My grandma used to live near Spring Green so I spent many summers at APT and went to House on the Rock almost every other year growing up! also some cute yellow or wooden flower shaped buttons on that blue coat would be lovely. 🌼
I'm in love with the way your childhood media consumption influences your wardrobe choices. 😂 For a button swap on the blue jacket, I feel like a similar size/shape button to what's already on there but in like a tortoiseshell brown type of color would add the perfect earthy vibe to go with the rest of your wardrobe. I hope that makes sense.
Having a good cobbler and seamstress is really valuable. It's wonderful to be able to repair or tweak a piece you really like and have for years in your wardrobe.
In every recent video featuring that painting, I've wondered if it was meant to be reminiscent of a pokeball. I guess not, but I'll never be able to not see it as one! What a fun find!
Replacing worn out heel caps and soles is a great hack! Easily done at a local repair shop, reduces consumption and is much cheaper than new shoes. I got the fancy leather soles on a pair if flats covered with a rubber sole and now they work great in the unreliable Scottish climate. 😊
Same! I recently wore a pair of heels that I begged my mom to buy me when I was a teenager. They’re so funky and cool, Orange cognac color leather Kenneth Cole Reaction collection. Super 70’s styled with flare jeans. Now 12 years later, one of the heel caps were missing so finding this comment saved these shoes! I love them too much to get rid of them. Thank you!
Find a good cobbler in your area or close enough to places you frequent. The one I love is near my job so I try to take 3-4 things in at a time. If I need a quick turnaround I use one close to my home. The real problem is that leather working, shoe repair, etc is a lost art and my family business owners end up closing because the kids don’t want to take over when it is time.
I'd add color blocked buttons, maybe in yellow or even orange or whatever works for your wardrobe. Edit: only tip I have regarding heel caps: don't ever wear your shoes without them, it damages the heels and leather so badly!! I once had to walk home with a missing cap and the cobbler had to shorten the heels of my shoes 😢 So be patient and get that done first, it's not expensive at all.
Yes! I had to walk several city blocks after the heelcaps of my fabulous thrifted 90s-does-60s shoes broke on their first outing, and they were damaged beyond repair 😢. Now I’m considering just proactively replacing the caps on my favorite vintage shoe thrifts. (Just google “shoe repair near me”)
I'm so obsessed with your flower patch jacket it's adorable!! The shape and colours are great it's just so perfect for autumn! It's giving me over the garden wall vibes for sure (a pretty accurate measure of how autumn appropriate something is haha)
Yess colour in the stripe! It’s a perfect shirt otherwise! Also I accidentally thrifted my fav vintage nightgown for 4 bucks, and wearing it with a ton of necklaces and my black harness belt makes me feel like the top tier version of myself ❤❤ Looove the dress with navy blue boatneck, rlly looks beautiful on you and I bet u can style it in so many ways ❤
I'm gonna do it!!! & omg that is such a gorgeous vision, I'm gonna have to try that styling for mine! Can't wait to keep styling the blue dress for fall too hehe
13:14 idk why but this dress reminds me of Beetlejuice but in a fun edgy way like i envision it with a white mesh turtle neck underneath or a shirt, a studded belt and combat boots
For sure, getting the heel caps replaced at any cobbler will be just fine! I'd also ask them to do an extra rubber insert under the sole on the outside for extra grip & durability of the shoe. They also sell really nice quality water protectant and clear shoe polish (;
I never comment on youtube videos but I get so excited for your videos I feel like I’ve pushed myself with my style so much since watching you! Would love to see some more thrift flips/ways to upcycle your wardrobe!!
omg this is so sweet and make me so happy!! :')) I'm so glad you've been getting some inspo & enjoying being creative:') Thank you for taking the time to comment
Noooo as soon as you mentioned Prunella I was like 'YES whimsigoth icon.' The coat you thrifted with the colourful flowers/patches is just so lovely and unique, if I found that I would be over the moon (":
As an avid thrifter and vintage lover, I've had to get quite a few pairs of shoes fixed over the years, including replacing heel caps like your red boots need! I recommend researching cobblers in your area or literally just googling "shoe repair near me," often places that alter clothes also do shoe repairs! The heel cap replacement is a pretty common repair and I think I've paid anywhere from $20-40 to have it done on a pair of shoes. Those boots are insane and def worth investing in repairing! Great video :)
i saw a very similar black-with-flower-patch jacket on pinterest today and was practically foaming at the mouth, and now to see you with one too...i'm sobbing
I think the peach and navy both are great colors on you! I think lavender buttons would be my choice for the cobalt coat. And the final dress/es are giving total queen vibes!
Such a fun video! With the cobalt blue coat, I think it would look very cute with big brown, wooden buttons. It could be versatile and slightly nautical. Even better, I do not know how to do this, but toggles would look adorable on it as well.
Aw so fun! I really want to go thrifting. I really like the white cropped top with unique stichting technique. Like, basics, but special, are such good pieces to add to your wardrobe.
Speaking of deep cuts, I know about house on the rock from American Gods. I was so excited as a non-Wisconsonite because I knew exactly what you were about to say!
The flower patch jacket is so cute omg I need it!! Also the clay top, I feel like it would look great with the green trousers you wore when you were styling the white tank top
that room unlocked a core memory :') edit: i think either the same color or a gold super detailed set of buttons for that cobalt blue jacket would look cool (bonus points if it's thrifted buttonsss)
I definitely feel like the fit-and-flare dress could be styled in a witchy-halloween way. Awning stripes always giving me that vibe. It could be an amazing Witch University/Halloweentown-inspired outfit if it's paired with silver & black accessories--high silver boots, tangles of necklaces, maybe something with black lace?
thank u!! it's l’oréal paris infallible pro-matte liquid lipstick in the color cowboy, with just a generic clear gloss layered on top (I use NYX butter gloss).
@Buttons for the blue blouse: I think something geometric and colorful would be nice. With a strong 80ies vibe. Maybe square-shaped with rounded colors in red, yellow or a combination. "statement buttons", so to speak.
Omg I live in Wisconsin like not far from the apt and when you showed the bracelet I immediately was like oh I’ve seen that lol! The gift shops at the theater are so amazing I can’t resist every year!! And at house on the rock too! I frequent both.
omg!! so fun!! They literally had so many good things in that gift shop hahah it was hard to choose. Makes me so happy that you visit these same spots!!
So, I also thrifted a pair of shoes with missing heel caps. I ended up just using leftover warbla thermoplastic to replace them myself. so far it's working great.
For the blue jacket I would do oblong wood or horn toggle style buttons, or tortoiseshell style circular ones! If you could find something nautical that would also be cool. So many possibilities!
Suggest you cover the buttons on the blue jacket with some funky fabric... it would really brighten it up and could coordinate with your head scarfs. Great video.
You could make custom shrinkydinks buttons in a cute lil shape for that blue jacket! Then you could have a little custom shape that's interesting and unique (maybe red flowers??)
for cobalt jacket I imagine vintage-y silver buttons with a design on them. Though I do also like the idea of flower shaped ones that someone mentioned below!
I’ve definitely taken a navy blue and white striped shirt and gone over all the blue with a black fabric marker. No regrets even with the hands cramps it gave me.
Coloring the stripes is definitely something I’d do too. I’m so picky about my colors and striped stuff is so hard to find in a color scheme I like. I think it’s valid to color in one of the colors if it’ll make you like it so much more
The terra cotta bodysuit and rust color boots would look good together? Those colors are amazing on you! I have no answers but I do have questions, the same as yours - do fabric pens work? I have a t-shirt with a cool print that is slowly wearing away and I was thinking I'd get a black fabric pen to refresh it - but is it only a dream??? I need to know if those pens actually *work*. 🤪
omg yes I will have to try them together!! & I've used fabric markers before and then totally work!! They fade over time like any design but yeah I think they're great:)) I've never used them to refresh a design so not sure if it would look off paired an original graphic, but I've had great success with them drawing my own shirt designs!
@@beepwrld yessss thank you for sharing - in that case I am trying this immediately!! Can't wait to see your fall 'fits (this is what the kids call them, right? lol) xoxox
I get heel caps replaced all the time! You almost certainly have a family-owned shoe repair shop near you that can get them fixed up fast and relatively cheap. 😊
The little velvet piece is everything, that lace trim is so pretty! Also, the floral fabric top may have been in the spotlight for the briefest of moments, yet it left a lasting impression on me~ I don't know about that particular piece in shoes, but in my family we do take our shoes to get repaired by a professional, mostly when there are any straps that have come off one side or broken zippers. It isn't the cheapest option (at least here the profession is very niche as well, this place also does metal signs and keys) but I prefer to keep my old shoes. I also took a faux leather bag to get the zipper fixed. Cost me about four times the original price of the original fast fashion price, but now I have my old favourite bunny ear bag back in business and couldn't be happier~ OOh, now I do want to see you style that dress in a Vivienne Westwood style! Yes to you trying to use a fabric marker on that one top. Aaaand I absolutely love that last set~!! Can't wait to see you style the pieces in future videos! Also, are we perhaps getting another Cool artsy weird girl video sometime?^^
I actually love the colors in that tank top. I can totally see the striped dress as a Vivienne Westwood base layer. A white, long sleeve shirt under it plus your harness on top. Some funky jewelry...❤.
I’m a classic Arthur stan so I absolutely visualised Prunella’s room 😂
bahaha the way I was like "🔵u🔵" when you pulled out that cobalt jacket. Also the flower jacket!!!! it's so perfect for you & totally reminds me of your art-style, too!!!!!
hehehe it's kathleencore!! both very happy finds glad u enjoyed them!!🤠🤠
Our styles are so different and yet I just can't get enough of your purchases and styling!! So fun, whimsical and "funky fresh"
haha this makes me so happy, thank you!! Very glad you're enjoying:))
i am surprised how much i love rothko paintings, like minimalist abstract art isn’t my vibe but there was an exhibit here with a bunch of his paintings and it was literally a spiritual experience like i’m obsessed
omg love this, I agree I'm also not usually into minimal or abstract but yeah man idk.. the COLORS!! I'd love to see an exhibit on him
Coloring in the stripe you don't like is a great idea! Another idea is to embroider it, I think I thin line of chain-stitched red would cover up the pink and add some very cool texture.
oooo this is a super fun idea!
I love this idea!!! Or a vine stitch. Cute!
I think that you should do it!!!@@beepwrld
I feel like embroidery on stretch fabric is going to be a nightmare though! I love the concept though
I like the embroidery idea, I'm not 100% sure with the marker idea...but who knows, it might work out great as well.
My grandma used to live near Spring Green so I spent many summers at APT and went to House on the Rock almost every other year growing up! also some cute yellow or wooden flower shaped buttons on that blue coat would be lovely. 🌼

hahaha my style has been very consistent over time 😂 😂
that totally makes sense, that's actually what I'm leaning towards right now!
I totally think red buttons would be so cute on the blue jacket. Very apple/primary colour vibes
I could see wooden buttons on it, too.
Replacing worn out heel caps and soles is a great hack! Easily done at a local repair shop, reduces consumption and is much cheaper than new shoes. I got the fancy leather soles on a pair if flats covered with a rubber sole and now they work great in the unreliable Scottish climate. 😊
Ooh, I hope Liz sees this! I honestly need this for a number of pairs of shoes, so thank you!

I'd add color blocked buttons, maybe in yellow or even orange or whatever works for your wardrobe.

omg yes, over the garden wall IS the fall vibe gold standard
whenever the month changes from august to september i consider it otgw season.
6:25 - fancy gold/silver colour buttons, or a bunch of different colour buttons would look so cute on the jacket!!
Agreed!
Agreed as well, especially if they have a star design! 🌟
such a good haul!! that final slip/robe at the end reminded me to stop skipping over the lingerie section at thrift stores omg how BEAUTIFUL
the lingerie section is truly where it's at!!! You won't always find something good, but when you do.... it's SO good!!!
The two piece nightgown set is EVERYTHING!!
Prunella’s mystical witchy vibe was absolutely iconic tbh
literal style icon
I think tortoise shell/brown buttons would look great on that blue jacket :)
Just me but, I like the buttons on the blue jacket. Keeps the focus on the great shape.
Me too, actually. I can see the vision in other people’s suggestions, but I think the huge clear buttons are unique and fun✨
Yes, exactly @lisa_wistfulone7957. Nicely said. 😊

13:14 idk why but this dress reminds me of Beetlejuice but in a fun edgy way like i envision it with a white mesh turtle neck underneath or a shirt, a studded belt and combat boots

We love Prunella! The finds are so cute. Cozy artist chic.
in a way cozy artist chic is prunella's vibe too so... that's how I know I'm killing it
I’ve totally replaced the bottoms of my heels at a shoe repair shop! My daughter’s name is Francine (partially inspired by Arthur).
Already found one near me to go to!! & omg I love that so much, it's such a cute name
my goodwill could neverrrrrrrrr these are all so good
hahaha I truly had some excellent luck this summer. & The bins are where it's at!!
i saw a very similar black-with-flower-patch jacket on pinterest today and was practically foaming at the mouth, and now to see you with one too...i'm sobbing
omg hahaha... hoping & praying that you find ur own soon, I have faith
big gold buttons! Would give full paddington bear vibes
Adorable!! I actually really like the clear buttons, but I’d trade them in a heartbeat for Paddington!!😅
I think the peach and navy both are great colors on you!
I think lavender buttons would be my choice for the cobalt coat.
And the final dress/es are giving total queen vibes!
We have really different styles but I love watching you exactly for this because I get inspo outside of what I would normally look for ❤😊
I love this!! I do the same thing hehe. glad you have you here!!
The royal blue jacket would look so fancy with some vintage gold intruquite buttons if you know what i mean
totally know what you mean, that would be such a good vibe!!

The color of those boots against your complexion is perfection.

totally agree! someone else said beetlejuice which I totally see too. can't wait to go more spooky with it for fall hehe
Cobolt jacket would look so cute with big vintage flowershaped buttons, and you could do whatever colour you love
Etsy has beautiful gold designer buttons that would look great. They even have gold frogs!
omg that would be so cute
The striped tank top reminds me of licorice all sorts in that pastel and black color palette
Yes! Or those layered rectangular coconut candies with the brown and pink stripes!
The black velvet top is my favourite. I would like to know what lipstick/lipgloss you are wearing. Looks great.
thank u!! it's l’oréal paris infallible pro-matte liquid lipstick in the color cowboy, with just a generic clear gloss layered on top (I use NYX butter gloss).
ohmygosh those BOOTS!! so many great finds but my jaw genuinely dropped when i saw those babies
soooo stunning
I actually love the striped top!
@Buttons for the blue blouse:
I think something geometric and colorful would be nice. With a strong 80ies vibe. Maybe square-shaped with rounded colors in red, yellow or a combination.
"statement buttons", so to speak.
I think primary yellow buttons on the blue coat would be sooooo cuteeeee
It's the orange boots and the nightgown set for me 💯😗🤌
Omg I live in Wisconsin like not far from the apt and when you showed the bracelet I immediately was like oh I’ve seen that lol! The gift shops at the theater are so amazing I can’t resist every year!! And at house on the rock too! I frequent both.

Absolutely paint the buttons on the blue jacket! I think that could be so fun 😊
Square or squared dark blue buttons would be perfect. Also the appliqué jacket is SO CUTE
I want to make one.
So, I also thrifted a pair of shoes with missing heel caps. I ended up just using leftover warbla thermoplastic to replace them myself. so far it's working great.
omg you are on a whole other level I am so impressed with this
omg the nightgown set! the boots! the fit! glorious!
6:30 something cool, funky, large, circular and mismatched! Something childlike. I think it would add a lot of personality to it!
love this idea, plus easier to find & thrift all mismatched buttons!!
@@beepwrld - Imagine how sweet it would be to find replacement buttons at the bins. Bring a small pair of mustache scissors.
Here I was this morning crocheting in the garden watching your fall thrift haul from last year and boom here's another 🙌🫶
omg this makes me so happy🥹 crocheting in the garden sounds like a dream
love the flower patch jacket!! Also LOVE a good Rothko
both iconic!!!
For the blue jacket I would do oblong wood or horn toggle style buttons, or tortoiseshell style circular ones! If you could find something nautical that would also be cool. So many possibilities!
The boots are gorgeous
For the cobalt blue jacket, your should use colorful funky-shaped buttons! I’m imagining flowers
Take your boots to a cobbler!
I’m from Wisconsin and that house on the rock shirt is a true gem!!
OMG I am obsessed with the white robe! That is so Stevie Nicks
I think navy blue looks really good with your hair colour!
House! On! The! Rock! Impossible to describe & honestly incredible
Suggest you cover the buttons on the blue jacket with some funky fabric... it would really brighten it up and could coordinate with your head scarfs. Great video.
Omg that flower appliqué jacket!!! 🌼
Obsessed with this haul!!!! The cobalt blue jacket is giving Ludwig Bemelman’s Madeline, also a childhood fave of mine 💙
omg I Loved Madeline too and I love this comparison
You could make custom shrinkydinks buttons in a cute lil shape for that blue jacket! Then you could have a little custom shape that's interesting and unique (maybe red flowers??)
Red boots have been on my thrift list for months they just give the perfect twist to every outfit ❤
On the blue jacket, I think that either orange or reddish for some contrast and green/cyan for some nice colour combinations:)
for cobalt jacket I imagine vintage-y silver buttons with a design on them. Though I do also like the idea of flower shaped ones that someone mentioned below!
I feel like cobalt blue velvet buttons would be awesome on that blue coat!
Those shoes are SO hot!!! And the nightgown is so beautiful and dreamy! Loveeee!
I’ve definitely taken a navy blue and white striped shirt and gone over all the blue with a black fabric marker. No regrets even with the hands cramps it gave me.
omg first of all, respect🫡 & secondly it is great to know this worked for someone else already, thank u for commenting!
The nightgown set is gorgeous omg 😍😍
Those orange boots are everything
That velvet tie top is a dream!

the nightgown-- and especially the coat layer (?) on its own-- gives major Labyrinth energy

the blue jacket would look really cute with some duffel coat button toggel things
oooo this is brilliant
I love the nightgown set!!!
Brown textile plaid buttons!
