It's crazy to know that our society transitioned from a world of nothing but battle and warriors ( medieval times ) into technology, government and memes. I think people are more depressed and feel worthless because our ancestors used to Conquer and Fight and be known as warriors these days all you do is Go to school, graduate, get a job, go to college or start a career, retire then die
I mean most people want to have a secure and tranquil life I'd asume. I think depression is greatly powered by the sense of purposeless on my find themselves in. The hardships of a medieval life maybe kept people focus on surviving more than questioning their purpose in this life. But true our ancestors were great warriors xD

The entire quote of "Life is a war" kinda goes with all eras so far. It's just the stakes grew smaller and smaller.
As Neanderthal we fought to live another day, 500 years ago soldiers fought for their lord and country. Soldiers now a days have very little to fight for and some don't get the respect or help they deserve after sacrificing their lives for a nation. Now we battle emotions with ourselves, wether we're trying to stop racism (or something) or just the mental trauma of societal issues. But since there was human society their was people working, and boy do people need work.

As a college weed addict struggling with mental health, Pantheon is such a cool role model. An unbreakable and strong willed warrior who doesnt let his mistakes define him, always moving forward. Here´s a few lines i love:

A gentle reminder that Pantheon, prior to gaining his Aspect powers, was not even considered one of the better warriors of Targon. He lost spars and duels. A LOT. It was his persistence, his constitution and his attitude that took him to the top of the mountain.
