My parents got the most valuable fan award after going to every game for their grand kids. They also went to all my games, both sisters games, and 5 grand kid's games. Home and away. Soccer, football, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball. You will have lots of games to watch when you have grand children..

When parents pour sooooo much love and energy and support into something a child is interested in, ending a phase is rough. The whole family is part of that experience. You should be proud of that young man and proud of YOU.

Our 4 kids are all in their 30’s, oldest will be 40 next year. Each one graduates then each moves out, goes to college, has their own family, not all in that order but you get the idea. Each has a lifetime of firsts which started from birth. Don’t feel sad like it’s ending! It’s another level of firsts!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 All the memories you collect along the way are so precious and you get to share in all of it 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is not the end... it is the beginning!!!! My intuition tells me Weston is a very confident, successful, respectful, hard working young man. You have taught him that, be proud you have taught him well. You will have soooo many proud moments in the future. College, marriage, first house, making you grandpa and grandma, etc.... This may sound trite, but it’s true. Although you Dad’s absence is heartbreaking at this time, the bitter tasting moments build more character than always tasting the sweet! Allie, I feel sorry for your Dad, as he will probably miss knowing the man you will become and the love you might have given! Remember, though, the greatest strength of the soul is the power to forgive! Someday Dad will wish for your heart to open to him just as you are wishing for his to open now.

This year will be my hardest yet! My youngest granddaughter will be graduating from High School. I keep asking myself, where did all those years go?!? It's so hard. I live far away from my kids and grandkids now, so it's even harder. It will be so bittersweet when I go all those miles to see her graduate! When I see her walk on the stage to get her diploma! I'm so proud of her, and proud of where and what's next for her! I'm so proud of her Mama! My little girl. She and I have had many a phone call remembering special times and even crying about her little girl leaving for college soon. But both of us thinking how proud we are. Me if them both! Because like Westin, both of my girls, were also sports nuts! Choir for my daughter and band also for my granddaughter. And they both did amazing in all they got involved in too. We laugh, smile, drive all over the state and country for them. Cheer them on, running errands and doing tons of extra laundry. But it's so worth it isn't it?!? They are so worth it! I remind my daughter to get ready for the college games, meets, etc. And hopefully you'll have grandchildren and start over like I did. So DJ, it's hard. Especially with the first. Maybe it's because I'm old hat. I don't think so though. Cuz it hasn't gotten any easier. Lot's of memories! 🤗🤗🤗.
Take care and God bless you and your family!

It's hard to watch the Kids grow and graduate. I remember not being happy when my kids finished band and Drill team their final years, it was so hard on me to watch that end. But I promise that it will get better and at some point there will be a new focus. Cherish this time.

I started crying too DeJay. I know what that is, when your first baby won’t stop growing into a man, and getting another step closer to leaving the nest. My sons are 25 and 20 and my youngest is still home and will stay home until he’s married. I’m so glad, since the money he’s saving will be for his business...plus he wants to be with us. I’m so glad. The other one went after college and got married. Crazy life!

DJ and Daniel, congratulations on raising such a talented, well adjusted, and God fearing young man. I understand your tears, DJ. No matter how old he gets he will always be your boy.
Weston, it's an honor just to make the State Finals, and you placed third in high jump and tenth in long jump! You are the cream of the crop. Congratulations!! God's rich blessings on all your future endeavors. And, no matter how busy you get working and playing, please don't forget to call your Mom and Dad. They will always love you.
