    I believe buddhism teaches self reflexion, making own choices. Not blind faith, nor hell threats. Promoting self awareness, self value as a human being. Compassion, wisdom are the main teaching. We have to reflect on this topic seriously I guess.

      Naija would be at the level of South Korea in terms of development if more Naijans subscribed to buddist philosophy. It is unbridled superstition that stunts the intellectual development of a society and nation. Abrahamism went some way in tempering superstition but Abrahamism itself is built on and around certain levels of superstition, so perpetuates ignorance.

    • @PrincelyWan
      @PrincelyWan Рік тому +3

      @@nonso5740the wonderful thing is that those that believe to be children of Abraham can still subscribe to the teachings of Budda. This as Buddism is not a religion or at least there should be no god complex in Buddism as it is a philosophy.

    I am a seeker. Anything you practice is in you. It has nothing to do with, religion or philosophy. The heart , peace, value of humankind is very important. Whatever you practice and have good character, not judging, serving mankind in a compassionate way is crucial. What is African way to me is like any other ways. Love n hate. I left this Buddhism I did for 10 years. Went into Hinduism for 10 years. IFA for 5 years but ran off because I was the one always showing more compassion to my godfather. We fought n fought but he never saw my compassion as important. Just last year I decided to check out IFA again from a friend who knew my issues. Ebo helped my depression n legal battle I was going through but I still had some hell that was not cleansed. I tolerated the hurting side for 5 months n one day Buddhism came to my mind for more balance so I started chanting Nam moho range kyo n it gave me extra inner peace I really needed. I even fell in love with one IFA priest but have not spoken about Buddhism to him yet. This time around peace n love has to be right . IFA is mixed with other religions. Priest fighting n lying for one to follow them is scary but I love how I am now. Your Ori is #1 n it should guide one right. What is food for one is poison for the next. Let each one choose his own bcuz much is tainted to a point. I love the music in the background of the Buddhisr prayers. I love drumming too but in different way. Africa is suffering I get many beggers online, young men but I chase them back to their queens.

      Please tell me what you love about this. You love the mentality that foolishness of people who run away from their own traditional believe and run to foreign god. For a man or a woman to be standing strong and powerful educated intelligent that man or woman have to back to their root. our ancestors have religion that's been used to pray to because of colonialism we rejected our own religion. During that time all over Africa I want ancestors build unbelievable building communicate with God the Europeans see those building they call it alien building. We can talk about ancient building in Nigeria or south Africa, Zimbabwe Egypt Sudan many parts of Africa you can find building that our ancestors build we are running away from knowledge like that.

      @@Kingsspeaks so just because something comes from your ancestors that makes it right?
      You know there was a time when twins were killed in Nigeria, and obas were buried with 7 heads?

      Buddhism does not regard the existence of other religions as a hindrance and it actually teaches tolerance and respect for all other faiths and religions. African culture, traditions and heritage are very compatible with a Buddhism and do not have to be given up so long as they do not go against the respect for the dignity of life.

    • @Kingsspeaks
      @Kingsspeaks 3 роки тому

      @@Kim-by5uy just because something come from outside does not make it right either. By the way what is wrong about advising people to go and study the way their forefathers used to study. When Jesus came people was so worried if Jesus is coming to change the ways of the ancestors then I am not here to change the law but to fulfill the law and he also mention the ancestors Jeremiah and Prophet Elijah if I'm not making mistake. So please explain to me what is wrong about advising people to follow the ways of the ancestors. I want ancestors used to speak and make things happen but now we cannot even do it.

    Interestingly, this is one of the least popular sects of Buddhism, and is regarded as a cult by most Buddhists. The chances that these practices will lead to full enlightenment is very close to zero, as reliance on outward rites and rituals is one of the first 3 fetters that must be broken out from before one can attain the first level of enlightenment.

      In Japan, the Soka Gakkai is the largest buddhist organization and the only one adapted to the 21st-century having overcome any dependency on a priesthood class.
      If you have data proving that this is regarded by most Buddhists as a cult it would be helpful otherwise nothing but empty words.
      There are millions of examples of practitioners having reached enlightenment time after time, including myself through the practice of chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo and the Writings of Nichiren Daisjonin, all based on the original teachings of the Lotus Sutra as instructed by Shakyamuni Buddha.
