"Smash" didn't mean what it means now in the common vernacular. Mother One didn't have publicly available official translation until well after Earthbound released. The first translation anyone ever saw of Mother One was Earthbound Zero, the patchesd ROM. It's PSI as in psychic, not pounds per square inch.
Feels like I stumbled through a portal to 2013 lol. Earthbound is a masterpiece though, good to see young'uns enjoying it.
