Funfact, in the original he didnt actually pronounce "daytona" he had only a few letter sounds recorded into memory, and just like with the instruments, he played back and remixed the samples. The music itself wanst like a single mp3 file, more like a midi/tracker. This was done to save on space
This song made me SO excited to play the sequential shifter made drifting so much easier for me. I remember passing the other 3 players with a perfect drift on the final corner. Even better, i crossed the finish line as the song went DAAAAYTOOOONAAAAAAAA
@@fernandgauthier7895 takes a lot of skill to control it. if you've played initial d, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect because it's a very similar feel.
You actually prefer the sequential shifter? Daytona USA is so much better with the more traditional H shifter. Sure, you could get a drift from pressing the brake and downshifting into 3rd gear, but you'll get better results if you shift into 1st to slide and then 3rd to steady yourself. You can't do that with the sequential shifter. It's a damn good thing Sega upgraded this game with the more traditional gearshift.
@@jakescartoons6045 i prefer sequestial for 2 reasons 1: i play a lot of Initial D, and it uses the sequential shifter. as a result, i'm a lot more familiar, and much more precise with it. 2: every H-shifter i've played on has been worn out from little kids slamming it all over the place
@@penguinmaster7 If you say so, but I know for a fact that the newest Initial D arcade game uses a 6 speed H shifter. Also, I'm pretty sure most kids who play racing games aren't going to understand the concept of manual transmission the same way us adults do, so I'm not sure about "little kids slamming it all over the place".
This needs a port to consoles. Arcades are dying off left and right, even in Japan. They need to bring this over ASAP along with House of The Dead: Scarlet Dawn, Planet Harriers, Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, Power Drift, OutRunners (Arcade), Star Wars Trilogy, and a bunch of other obscure classics.
The game reuses the versions from Dreamcast's Daytona 2001, but this one particularly got a slight variation. Not complaining though, 2:08 is hype as fuck
That's part of the charm of the song since the original only used samples for vocals so they could save space and make higher quality and longer tracks. But the higher quality vocals does make it sound weird
this is the full version, of this remix anyways. This was first used in Daytona USA 2001 for Dreamcast. I prefer the original one as well but this version also has its own charm since the music is different recording.

I *love* the drums in this iteration so much, especially at 2:24 - 2:48 as you’re hurtling towards the last turn.
They... They improved on perfection. I had no idea it could be done
You have a white jelly substance on your face.
Only the soundtrack.
Not the game itself. It got worse
It has more of a party feeling to it, kinda like Electrodrome. What a way to bring back such a awesome series.

Now this brings back some memories me as a child playing this at the arcade around the corner.
They pronounce "daytona" differently in every song, I swear.
